Post CC on Wikipedia ?
EDIT: This was a post about CC History. I'm fairly sure Thor just comandeered this thread so that he can refer to it when people make another attempt at Wikipediaing :D. Sorry about any confusion.

After seeing a Wikipedia page of Cortex Command fail miserably - multiple times - I decided to take the task on myself. One problem; though, has been pinning down exactly when development had first started. Archive.org shows the first animated GIF on the homepage, demonstrating a rather crude encounter between two clones, around September.

Data's post says August 9th.

A DLL in build 20 was modified in 2002.

Now. Is there an official answer to this, or will I need to just make the article and tack a 'citation needed' onto some random date ? :D.

It failed because the admins decided that because the game was in alpha/beta, it didn't deserve a page, and it was vaporware.

DO it again, and we'll keep on making it until hey decide to forget about it.

Nah, see that's where you're wrong. They deleted it because it's "non-notable", e.g. there are no details, no history and no future. Cortex Command is regularily churning out updates, has an active (albeit tightly-knit, and teeny-tiny) community and has a heck of a lot of history. With just a little looking around, I have enough material to start a fairly big article. Not Halo big, but probably three quarters the size of Soldat. If that isn't notable enough, not detailed enough; I really don't know what is. Besides, there are many worse articles that deserve deletion - we've got plenty of ammunition to deviate them from CC.

Stop trying to make a Wikipedia page. They will continue deleting it until AT LEAST Data releases a commercial version.

Please, dont bother.

I agree, because it's been tried countless times and the unpaid wikipedia admins hate Data.

I really don't think it's hate (maybe jealousy).

But anyways, how big was the last Wikipedia article ? Three, four paragraphs ? We'd need far more than a stub or even a small article to prove the worth of it. Raising some uproar would be great too, if anyone still has links to the Soldat forum or some other communities, a bunch of testamonies could push the odds in our favor.

If you happen to be a folk-hero of 4Chan, speak up now.

The more information you put in the article, the more time of your own you waste. I, myself, VfD'd CCs article. The game does not meant notability requirements for Wikipedia. Wait for the game to go gold. Wikipedia is not an advertising service, and this game doesnt (if ever) have the notability to be worth mentioning. Sorry, Data.

Instead of wasting time editing an article thats going to be speedy deleted (because of the numerous recreations), draft some articles for a CCWiki.

Speaking of which, any indication that a CC wiki will go up anytime soon?

I still have creating.themachinery up, but I'm not sure on the status of a wiki.datarealms.com or some such thing. I'd like it to happen.

Yeah, the admins should get with Data about that.
