Any way to turn off the added graphical sexiness?
It's cool, but it's making my comp run like a pile of crap.
Specs: 512mb of RAM GeForce FX 5500 2.8ghz Celeron single-core processor
B17 ran fine as long as I wasn't running Firefox or any AIM windows.

Turn PostProcessing to 0 in Settings.ini.

I should do that just to see if I can get the time it takes to empty an SMG mag under a second.

B17 ran fine as long as I wasn't running Firefox or any AIM windows. I've got worse specs than that but CC runs fine with PostProcessing = 1.

Defintely.
Its the Celeron that's killing him. You've got 2.861231 GHz clock speed, but the Celeron is notorious for not multitasking well.
Combine that with less than 1GB of RAM, you aren't going to do well. I hate the Celeron. Terrible processor.
AMD Sempron and Intel Celeron. Worst processors known to man.

AMD Sempron and Intel Celeron. Worst processors known to man. I run on a laptop with 1gb of RAM and an Intel Celeron M processor, and it's just fine for CC, Gmod, even WoW. And multitasking. Ninja edit.

Ninja edit. I've always hated Celerons, but I do hear good things about the M being much, much better than the Celerons of old. New core designs and all that.

Re: Any way to turn off the added graphical sexiness?
I've got 1.5 gigs of ram and an AMD Athlon XP 3000+ 2.1 Ghz processor, and cc runs really slowly for me. It may be because I set the # of seconds per dropship to 2, but I'm thinking it's my processor. It's kinda funny, really. The game runs pretty slowly at the start of the game, and still runs merely pretty slowly when I've got dead dropships stacked up to the top boundary. I'll try the postprocessing thing to see if I can get a better speed.

I've got 1 gig of ram, a 3.2 P4 CPU and a Radeon 9600 SE. My framerate's pretty decent, only dropping when I detonate some powerful bomb (e.g. Xenon) Since this game is physics-based, the processor is of utmost importance.

well I'm running an 8800gts on dual core and it runs terribly slowly on this build, with the post processing turned off it's fine.
