Post Free pixelling services/collab partner for your mods!
So hi, How's it going?

I enjoy pixelling, I do alot of it but am currently stricken with artists block, I was redirected here from the SOLDAT forum (Great game, go play it) by this guy numgum, don't even know him but he seems like a nice enough guy, so anyways, I'm looking for some projects to get me better at pixelling, So if you need someone to do the pixelling for you, I'm your man.

I mean, i'm doing it for free.

But anyways, here's some of my work, it's nothing breath taking but thats why I would like to get better:

So like I said, don't tell me what you want and then go "make it look bad ass!", no, please just give me a reference picture or a sketch or something. Just a general idea of exactly what you want (I think that's an oxy moron).

So please come with some ideas, I need to blow the dust off MSPaint. :D

Ok, now that ive brouhgt him here, go ahead and ask if you need some spriting to do.

For instance if I remember right. A guy named zalo on these forums needs new sprites for his Brain Mech. Thats one project for ya. PM zalo for more info and ask if he got some more stuff, since he's a coding wizard but he sucks at spriting.

Okay, sorry, I've been busy this week with finals but now my quarters over, anyways, could you be a little more specific?

You just want it to be in porportions to the weapons in the game correct? Or did you want like an icon for it too? (Like in soldat how they have the bigger picture on the weapon menu, then a completely seperate and smaller sprite for the in game gun)

And what did you mean by the right colors? As in stick with the colors that are on the reference picture?

He want you to make you a sprite that would be used ingame.

Below is the defualt automatic rifle (an AK-47)
This would be size of a regular sprites in game.

And by the right colours he means that he wants it done with the Cortex Command palette, which is in base.rte

So tell me how this looks for you.

Any changes you need?

I was browsing the Base.rte file and noticed 2 AK-47 files, an AK47000 and AK47001

Now I saw the little change in the images, I'm guessing this is the firing animation?

Brilliant Sprite I have to say.

And yes there is a firing animation.

Also there are muzzle flashes, rocket flames, ect.

If you see a weapon000.bmp or a rocketflame001.bmp Its animated.

So as in muzzle flash you mean like the change in the lighting on the gun correct? So does that sprite need one of those?

Muzzle flashes are seperate sprites, which are attached to the gun in the code. Usually guns have a couple of different flashes for variety.
