Why are .bmp files disallowed?

 Why are .bmp files disallowed? That change just broke the Sprite Dump(s), which are an invaluable resource.

Re: Why are .bmp files disallowed? Because BMP images use lossless compression (meaning they have a large filesize).
They are still acceptable for you to link (like from imageshack, photobucket, or a private server), you just cant have them hosted on the domain.
Use PNG. Good compression, good resolution, good quality.

Re: Why are .bmp files disallowed? Even using MSPaint to compress to .png drastically reduces filesize. Like, from, say, 500kb, to, maybe, 35.
