Redwolf: "Hmph. Friend. There's no such thing out there. In the forest, the laws of nature still hold some semblance of sway. The wastes... You won't be able to bumble through every hard situation.

Homo homini lupus."

It absentmindedly waves in the direction of the exit, scratching behind its ear with a leg.

Redwolf: "Well, go on. Back to the fields. I won't follow. Tell the Shepherdess her flock is delicious as always."

The party heads out into the night, their path lit only by the full moon. Looking back, they see the red wolf still sitting in the same position, though... It's hard to discern, but its jaw seems to be opening wider than it should be possible. The coat's hood away as the creature's skin peels back, revealing...

You're not sure exactly what. It is like, a long cone of Flesh, bones and limbs jutting out at random angles. At the very tip, there's... A person, maybe? Is it waving at you?

The moon disappears behind a cloud, and there is no more to be seen.



The walk through the forest is treacherous, and more than once you drop the cart, having to stop and pick up the spilled tools. Eventually, however, the grassy hills are once again in sight.

A tall, hooded figure stands at the edge of the forest, waving a torch in your direction. A ram, standing by its feet, bleats as you approach.

Mary: "Good heavens! What took you so long? Quick, quick! Before the beasts reach you! You crazy sods, don't dawdle!"

The group returns to the farm, tool cart in tow. Mary quickly marches to the animal pen and begins counting her very agitated sheep.

Mary: "Six, seven, eight... There's one missing! Bonnie? BONNIE? Are you there? I'm coming for y- Oh no."

She pauses, then quickly leaps over the low wall, running towards the other side of the forest. You realise there's a large, dark red stain on the ground, with a few skidmarks leading into the fields.

Blood.
