The water of the deeps turns unaturally cool as tendrils of darkness swirl through it from below.
Tiny fish shrivel and die, their skeletons melting into dust and vanishing as they stray into the slowly advancing endarkened zone.
As the dirt walls around it harden into a black, stone-like substance sparking occasionally with lines of white energy, a creature with a head like the polished skull of a bird and a torso made of what could be black feathers or could be swirling shadows rises slowly from the depths.
The void are here, and they will not stop until this sorry, monochrome state is spread across the entire planet.
