It's one of these kind of radios, but without the big retarded antenna. The ones in the mecha are big and powerful and can broadcast for miles, but these handheld ones can be stopped by a thick wall. Anyway, the volume can be adjusted, so cranking the volume up then setting it down and running WILL work fine.

Not stopping to aim, you fire off the Innardsplatter at the lizards, sending 2 grenades their way. One passes over their group entirely, not damaging them. The other detonates above one of the rear lizards.
