I vote that my Sleight of Hand ability moves me up one slot in the item queue.

And interesting idea... however, I believe that the definition of dexterity is...
"Skill in performing tasks, especially with the hands."

Hmm....

Yeah. Sorry. I can't change that. Even if your ability did activate in this instace (Which it probably wouldn't since dexterity usually refers to use of the hands/fingers) your roll would only be +1, bringing it to a 6. The next highest roll was an 8.

You remain where you are.

Okay...

I can't post the rounds right now, since it's late at night and I'm only going to get 5 hours of sleep as it is.

Uhmm... I will post the rounds as soon as I get the chance tomorrow.

Good night, Players!

(If you're in my timezone, that is.)

This round was painful for me...
I was nearly done with it. Two more Players to go, but then I hit Backspace with no text selected, and BOOM. All my writing disappeared.
So I said, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"
Seriously. That was a direct quote. That ever happen to you, Torrent? If so, I know how you feel now. It's quite a burden being the Dice Meister of an RtD game.
But don't dwell on my troubles. Here is your rather uneventful round!

CaveCricket

You just remembered that you wanted the rapier the big rat had. You turn and look at the metal block on the anivil across the room. It's in there... somewhere.
"Damnit, I wanted that rapier!"
You thrust Dan's gun into Hork's hands and grab the top on the table.

Inv. [9]
-Nikolai's Longsword [4]*
-Shortsword [3]
-Dagger [2]
-Mysterious Top [1]
P-Ablities
-Stealthy (+1 to sneak)
A-Abilities
-Minor Telepathy
Status
-None

Adam

Ohh... shiny squirrel! You snatch it up and go back outside.

Inv. [11]
-Odd Chain-Whip [4]*
-Chainmail [4]*
-Metal Squirrel [2]
-Broken Handle [1]
P-Ablities
-Fist Fighter (+1 hand to hand combat)
A-Abilities
-Pyrokinesis
Status
-Right Arm - Whipped (Pain, heals in 1)
-Right Cheek - Whipped (Pain, heals in 1)
-Pain (-1 to actions)

Ociamarru

You pick up the talisman quickly. A quick sniff reveals the smell of metal... and magic - the scent of which makes your nose itch.

Inv. [7]
-Badass Wolf Gear w/ claws [4] (+1 to all dodge rolls, and Primal Beast Senses)*
-Hammer [3]
-Odd Talisman [1] (Can be equipped to hand)
P-Abilities
-Expert Craftmanship (+1 to metalwork)
-Strong Arms (+1 to strength rolls)
A-Abilities
-None
Status
-None

Torrent

You were going to grab the talisman, but Nikolai got it first, so you pick up the mace. It feels light for its size, and comfortable in your hand.

Inv. [9]
-Dagger [2]*
-Dagger [2]*
-Dwarven Mace [3]
-Hip Flask [2]
P-Abilities
-Sleight of Hand (+1 to dexterity)
A-Abilities
-Minor Force Imbuement
-Minor Healing Touch
Status
-Left Upper Arm - Clawed (Heals in 2)

caekdaemon (8 + 1 = 9)

You take a hunk of the metal and shape it into the correct size and form, then put some nice little designs into it. You dunk it into water, and when it emerges from the hissing steam, you hold a beatifully crafted metal chestplate. What kind of metal, you don't know, but it turned out great!

You notice that there is commotion around the table, so you go and see what's up. Hey... prizes!
"Can I have the Giant Hammer? It's the logical sequel to my current weapon."
"Aye, 'tis. Jus' take it. I'd love tah see it used."

Inv. [14] (You're approaching max carrying capacity! So you might want to lighten up!)
-Enhanced Large Hammer [4]*
-Small Hammer [2]
-Dwarven Warhammer [5]
-Metal Chestplate [3]
P-Abilities
-Metal Worker (+1 to metalcraft)
A-Abilities
-Minor Mental Forge
Status
-None

Tokochiro

Everyone dashes to grab the different items on the table, and you can't push past them, being stuck in your chair. When the crowd clears, there is one item left.

"I guess I get the broadsword then."

Inv. [8]
-Dwarven Broadsword [4]
-Bandage (1) [1] (wrapped around leg - unusable)
-Nunchuck Cane [3] (wrapped around leg - unusable)
P-Abilities
-Helping Hand (+1 to assisting friends)
-Taekwondo (Chance to block oncoming punches or kicks (2nd dodge roll))
A-Abilities
-Minor Regeneration
-Minor Plant Control
Status
-Back - Smashed (Immobile) (Regenerating.... 8 turns left...)
-Pain (-1 to rolls)

EVENTS

Gabriel stands.
"We're leaving." He looks genuinely worried. That doesn't seem like him. He was the one who signed the party up for rat extermination.

He walks to the door.

"Really, guys. We need to leave. Now."

His face is completely transformed by fear. Gabriel looks like a little kid that lost his parents in a grocery store. What is going on?

This happened to me as well when I was doing Roll To Space. I just started doing my rolls in notepad, then pasting them into the post.

Much better metal making  .
"I'll go in a minute, just gotta do something..."
Use my Mental Forge Ability on my new items, drop the older hammer.

Equip the talisman, seeing if anything feels different. Follow Gabriel - I feel uneasy here. My hairs are standing on end, and I don't like the look in my wolf-armor's eye.

Yes.
Yes it has.
> Follow Gabriel out of there, swing my new mace around to get a feel for it. Also look over it for any hidden switches or things, such as a button that makes the blades fan out into some sort of stabby slicey umbrella.

Post Re: Roll to Dodge - Illusia
Let's roll. (I'm using spoilers now!)

caekdaemon (12)

“I’ll go in a minute, I’ve just gotta do something…”

You drop your old hammer, then concentrate on your new warhammer and your chestplate, and soon they glow with an unusual light. Then they start getting really hot. Your fingers are singed, and you quickly stuff the items in your pack. That’s a nasty side-effect of your ability.

Ociamarru (-)

You start walking after Gabriel, and put on the talisman as you do so.
…Nothing feels very different. There’s just a weird medal attached to your hand. Maybe it’s supposed to be used for something specific…

Johni begins complaining again, so you pick him up and carry him on your back.
He’s kind of heavy.

Gabriel is still looking around like a hunted animal. And you sense much fear in him.

Tokochiro (-)

Everyone is walking by without paying any mind to you, so you say aloud,
“Uhh, guys, my back kind of hurts and I can’t move so could anyone carry me?”

Nikolai picks you up and sets you on his back, You do your best to hold on with your arms as he carries you out.

Torrent (9)

You swing the mace around a bit, and find its weight quite comfortable. It’s light, but when you swing it, there is force behind your strike.

You also look around for any special dwarven technology on the weapon, but from observation, it seems to be a regular mace. Of course, it’s far from average as far as weapons go. It’s dwarf work.

Adam (10)

You wonder how exactly to activate this mechanical squirrel, but then it just jumps into action as if detecting your will. The squirrel moves quite naturally, and it hops up to your shoulder, clinging on with strong little metal claws.

Wow. That’s incredible. You pet the squirrel, and to your surprise, find that it actually has metal FUR. It must’ve taken forever for Hork to make each individual metal hair!

How does he do it…?

More importantly, what is this squirrel programmed to do?

Your question is answered when it hops off of your shoulder and disappears into the nearby brush. When it emerges, it carries a nut in its claws. It climbs up to your shoulder once more and drops the nut into your hand. You take a bite out of it, but it tastes horribly bitter. You give it back to the squirrel, and he drops it on the ground. He must not eat real food.

But, hey - he knows how to find stuff.

CaveCricket (9)

You follow Gabriel as he goes out from the house, and take a look at the top.

It looks simple, but dwarven engineered magic has to be present in it.

Suddenly, Hork runs out from his house and grabs your shoulder, turning you around. He says seriously,
“Only use that when yeh need it badly.”

Then he walks away.

Hm.

EVENTS

Gabriel simply says,
"We're continuing to Auid. Thanks for helping us out, Hork."
"Nay, laddie. 'Tis you who helped me. And I 'ave this gun 'fer huntin and snackin'!"

Raphael asks,
"Snackin'?"

"Aye. Finn 'as a taste fer them powder rifles."
"I thought you said you needed it for hunting!"
"I do! But Finn always manages to get tah' them rifles when I'm not 'round..."

"Okay, then..."

...There is a long silence.

"Well, goodbye, Hork."

"G'bye, lads. I 'ope yeh all fare well."

Gabriel turns and walks away. The rest of the party follows. And they all have a similar thought in their minds - Faring well is not likely on the path they're headed down.

But no one regrets that.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As Hork's hill fades from view, Gabriel visibly shudders. Something is wrong.

Adam nudges Gillain.

"What's wrong with Gabriel?" he whispers.
"I don't know."
"Well... ask him!"

Gillian rolls his eyes. Oh, great. So now I'm the party's personal counselor.

Well, he'd better ask. (I'm not telling you twice. )

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On a side note - I hope I did a good job putting words into your characters' mouths. I don't like to do that, but to enhance storyline, it is well worth it.

....

Really. It is.

Hey Gabriel, you seemed agitated back there. Something on your mind?"
