Re: Roll to Dodge - Illusia
Let's roll. (I'm using spoilers now!)
caekdaemon (12)
“I’ll go in a minute, I’ve just gotta do something…”You drop your old hammer, then concentrate on your new warhammer and your chestplate, and soon they glow with an unusual light. Then they start getting really hot. Your fingers are singed, and you quickly stuff the items in your pack. That’s a nasty side-effect of your ability.
Ociamarru (-)
You start walking after Gabriel, and put on the talisman as you do so.
…Nothing feels very different. There’s just a weird medal attached to your hand. Maybe it’s supposed to be used for something specific…
Johni begins complaining again, so you pick him up and carry him on your back.
He’s kind of heavy.
Gabriel is still looking around like a hunted animal. And you sense much fear in him.
Tokochiro (-)
Everyone is walking by without paying any mind to you, so you say aloud,
“Uhh, guys, my back kind of hurts and I can’t move so could anyone carry me?”Nikolai picks you up and sets you on his back, You do your best to hold on with your arms as he carries you out.

You swing the mace around a bit, and find its weight quite comfortable. It’s light, but when you swing it, there is force behind your strike.
You also look around for any special dwarven technology on the weapon, but from observation, it seems to be a regular mace. Of course, it’s far from average as far as weapons go. It’s dwarf work.
Adam (10)
You wonder how exactly to activate this mechanical squirrel, but then it just jumps into action as if detecting your will. The squirrel moves quite naturally, and it hops up to your shoulder, clinging on with strong little metal claws.
Wow. That’s incredible. You pet the squirrel, and to your surprise, find that it actually has metal FUR. It must’ve taken forever for Hork to make each individual metal hair!
How does he do it…?
More importantly, what is this squirrel programmed to do?
Your question is answered when it hops off of your shoulder and disappears into the nearby brush. When it emerges, it carries a nut in its claws. It climbs up to your shoulder once more and drops the nut into your hand. You take a bite out of it, but it tastes horribly bitter. You give it back to the squirrel, and he drops it on the ground. He must not eat real food.
But, hey - he knows how to find stuff.

You follow Gabriel as he goes out from the house, and take a look at the top.
It looks simple, but dwarven engineered magic has to be present in it.
Suddenly, Hork runs out from his house and grabs your shoulder, turning you around. He says seriously,
“Only use that when yeh need it badly.”Then he walks away.
Hm.
EVENTSGabriel simply says,
"We're continuing to Auid. Thanks for helping us out, Hork.""Nay, laddie. 'Tis you who helped me. And I 'ave this gun 'fer huntin and snackin'!"Raphael asks,
"Snackin'?""Aye. Finn 'as a taste fer them powder rifles.""I thought you said you needed it for hunting!""I do! But Finn always manages to get tah' them rifles when I'm not 'round...""Okay, then..."...There is a long silence.
"Well, goodbye, Hork.""G'bye, lads. I 'ope yeh all fare well."Gabriel turns and walks away. The rest of the party follows. And they all have a similar thought in their minds - Faring well is not likely on the path they're headed down.
But no one regrets that.

As Hork's hill fades from view, Gabriel visibly shudders. Something is wrong.
Adam nudges Gillain.
"What's wrong with Gabriel?" he whispers.
"I don't know.""Well... ask him!"Gillian rolls his eyes.
Oh, great. So now I'm the party's personal counselor.Well, he'd better ask.
(I'm not telling you twice. )--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On a side note - I hope I did a good job putting words into your characters' mouths. I don't like to do that, but to enhance storyline, it is well worth it.
....
Really. It is.
