It's actually rather interesting to watch, though.

Here's my opinion, in spoiler. Don't read it if you don't want to know how I think things are currently sitting.

Well, this'll make for an interesting discussion after the battle's over. Assuming we're not all dead.
Go into a crouched position to account for recoil, take aim, and fire again.

>going against an entire army with a 6-man crew that isnt even that great at fighting things
>not guaranteed death
unless we get mechs and the power of the HUMAN SPIRIT i dont think there is any possible outcome that isnt "everyone dies"

Well you're certainly not very coordinated but a few of you can hold your own.
Hell, if Tomaster were plastered he could probably take the ferret on his own.

Hey, don't forget me.

Also I think everyone is taking this too seriously, the setting is obviously going to favor a fantasy story ark, a small band of adventurers against a nation is just the sort of plot that is likely to develop and work itself out.

"You heard the captain jackass, let go."

If he does, or the flip actually works somehow I'll like to ready my pistol again, and see if I can get a shot off.

I'm attempting to use logic here. Your character has no clue it's fantasy, there's no reason for him to assume they'd win.

Well, I've got more story for if you pursue the plot, but it was more meant as an opportunity to gain a travel companion.

Post Re: Legends of the Sky
RtD Babysitting edition.
Rolling.

Ragdollmaster (Troy) [2-1=1]:
"Robert, last warning. If you value your head being attached to your body, I would strongly suggest that you get off of Grif. Ferret guy, ♥♥♥♥ off. RAMMING SPEED!"
The ship suddenly leaps forward as the engine core dumps energy into all of the drive systems, maxing out the Storm Sylph's speed in just a few seconds. Needless to say, the ferret is not expecting this.
The ship also tilts upwards, pointing the bow up into the air at the ferret to get a better shot for the ship weapons. Thankfully, Mare takes his shot, and semi-surprisingly, nails the ferret with the harpoon! Well, hits it with the harpoon. It went through the ferret's shoulder, so not a fatal wound, and it's still armored and flying.

Character

Miggles (Robert Wright) [2]:
You are about to grab at Grif's weapons, but a sudden spasm of movement makes you clamp back down on him to make sure he doesn't break out. (2+1=3)
"If we don't hand over the girl, we die. If we kill the ferret, we go against an army of ferrets. I don't think you understand how stupid you're all being. You're probably too busy being stupid."
"Alright you bastards, all you've done is lapped up his honeyed words and agree blindly, meanwhile we have no evidence Sera is a threat, or more importantly, has done anything wrong. Aye, this rat looks like a mighty beast, but I refuse to stand by and let that girl be dragged off to her death, and god's mark my words! I'll be DAMNED if I don't put up a fight!!!"
"We know nothing about this girl. Nothing. She literally fell from the sky. She could be a mass murderer. You don't know what you're fighting for. You're all fools."
"I'm fighting for her right to have the benefit of the doubt, now are you going to man up and fight for what's right, or are you going to intimidated by some flying vermin?!"

You give him a quick punch in the head.
"Man up and fight for what's right? What do YOU know about what's right? We have NO context here! Like I said, she could be a murderer! There's some reason these guys are after her and I don't doubt their judgement! One 'flying vermin' ain't bad, but a whole army, versus the 6 of us? Do you even know what we're up against if we do this?"
"Robert, last warning. If you value your head being attached to your body, I would strongly suggest that you get off of Grif."
"You heard the captain jackass, let goAAAHG!"

Before you can let go, or NOT let go, the ship lurches forward and speeds heavily towards the ferret. Oh ♥♥♥♥.

Character

Fail Flail (Grif Mason) [2]:
Robert tries to grab at your weapons, but a sudden flail distracts him. Bugger's not gonna get your weaposn.
"If we don't hand over the girl, we die. If we kill the ferret, we go against an army of ferrets. I don't think you understand how stupid you're all being. You're probably too busy being stupid."

"You heard the captain jackass, let goAAAHG!"

You're interrupted by the ship shooting forward, sending the both of you sliding back towards the back of the deck.

Character

Izen (Sedraxis) [10]:
"GIVE IT THE GIRL, GIVE IT THE GIRL!"
Of course, nobody listens.
Admittedly, they're busy fighting right no-
Huh?
Oh. The girl. She's clinging to your leg. And, yes, she's whimpering. To be fair, you'd probably cry too if a giant flying sky-animal came to collect you to go die.
Character

Maart3n (Mareikura) [10]:
You buckle down as the ship leaps forward and tilts up, giving you a clear and perfect shot at the ferret.
You take the shot, and the harpoon flies true, shooting forth and striking the ferret in the chest. Sort of.
It's still covered in armor, so the harpoon glances off, and lands in a gap between the chest and shoulder armor, spearing the ferret through the shoulder.
Success!

Character

Tomaster (James Tiber) [4]:
"Troy, what's the final verdict here? We are not goddamn heroes. We're flying a ship to explore the sky. We are not well prepared for this, we do not have the facts, and we are not in agreement. If you follow through with all these heroics, you are putting us against an entire nation, one that clearly has a well established judicial system and the means to enforce it. Your call."
His response is to charge at the ferret full speed. Well that's that you guess.
You brace yourself and get ready to, well, bash the ferret with your gun, maybe? Hard to reload while the ship's going at Maximum Fast.

Character

Game Events: The ferret, distance between it and the ship SIGNIFICANTLY shortened and now sporting a new, harpoon-tipped leash, decides to stop messing around.
It dives at the ship, landing on the deck heavily and carving deep furrows into the wood with its claws. It looks around, trying to decide which of the obstinate humans to take down first.
I regret that this must happen.

Me too bud, me too.
Ditch the cannon for now. Put that swordsmanship skill to use. Aim for unarmored areas, particularly the eyes. Stay agile, and keep him turning if he addresses me as the primary threat.

Reel the ferret in, if it is now standing on the deck, above me, with the harpoon still in it's shoulder it should pull it to the ground, also turn it around.
"Go for it's back!"

Would you like that, Guardian? Hey, maybe it'll even chain react with the ship's core and blast us to oblivion."
