So, eh... I feel like I'm asking a stupid question, but is this "image" I'm seeing what's actually there in front of me, is it what I see on the emblem, or am I having some kind of flashback?
I'm betting it's the first, and there are five more enemies to deal with, but maybe I'm wrong.

It was a mage of some sort. It's hiding itself, though. I can't make out where it is. The harpy and Lucida are somewhere under the building, a basement I think. It's hard to tell.

You distinguish the fireball to conserve energy and slowly get to your feet, while Mist jumps into the armory, slips on the dark stain in front of the doorway, and falls foward out of sight.

The Black Dragon moves towards the center of the chamber where the 4 bat creatures are standing in the light. One about 6 feet tall, which appears to be male, and the other three more or less 5 feet, who appear to be female.

"By the way, I'm Gustaf. Could I ask what your names are?"

The tall one with a longsword and the ball of light: "Deiimor, Kyros."
The one clad in armor, a black and white robe, and missing her right arm from the elbow down: "Tsinthula, Koa"
The one in a deep green cloak: "Dariin, Giibi"
The one with a tough sleeveless vest, a dagger in hand, and oval-lensed goggles sitting on her head: "Hiinathi. . . Hakua."
Koa: "Nice to finally put names to faces."

Koa walks over to the fallen Marauder and grabs the massive sword on the ground with her only hand and with a bit of trouble, maanges to get it to rest against her shoulder, while the bat-creature with the light-orb takes the lead and heads down the chamber. The other bat-creatures follow as the party heads into another tunnel, with you and the Black Dragon at the rear.

Kyros: "There was something seriously wrong with that Marauder. And I don't think that this is the last we'll see of it, either. Stay on your guard, everyone."

The party travels on for several uneventful minutes until you all reach a large, metal gate. It looks like it's designed to rise upwards to open, and appears quite sturdy.

At the sound of "Giibi," Koa gives a small chuckle, and Giibi more or less ignores her.

Raptor: "Hiinathi. . . Hakua."
Koa: "Nice to finally put names to faces."

Koa walks over to the Marauder and picks up the hefty Greatsword and awkwardly brings it up to rest on her shoulder.

You turn to Hakua -
"Thank you for having my back during that fight."
Hakua: "Mm, you too."

Taking the lead of the party again, you advance foward into a tunnel at the edge of the chamber.

"There was something seriously wrong with that Marauder. And I don't think that this is the last we'll see of it, either. Stay on your guard, everyone."

All of you walk down the completely straight tunnel for several tense but uneventful minutes, until you're all met with a large closed metal gate. It looks like it's designed to rise upwards, and appears to be rust-free.

At the bottom of the gate is a puddle of stinking, dark red fluid.

Hakua: "A control gate. There's a hub of more tunnels past this."
Giibi: "So, how do we bust this open quietly."

Look around for an exit or two in the darkness, besides the one I came in from.

Nope, their naming convention has been like that forever (with obvious exceptions to the more unique characters like Val and Lydia). You were just lucky to pick such a fitting name. The "ii" combination in the Chirop language sounds like a long "ih" sound (like the "i" in "it"), but often sounds like "ee" as well, depending on the speaker. You'll also see "tt" as well, which sounds like the mixture of the "t" consonant and the "th" combination, sorta like "tth". "Hakua" is also more pronounced as "HAH-kwa," rather than "Ha-KOO-wa".

Also, re-wrote the magic ability skill format so it's a little more clear.

And a roll, of course.

You head in and make a candle-sized flame in the palm of your hand for light. You see Mist standing perfectly fine in one aisle of shelves, so you take a turn to the right and walk slowly but carefully.

You can't move too fast, but you reach the side of the building. Holding your light lower to the ground, you see a figure in a red mage's cloak face down on the ground. It's probably not the mage that was responsibly for what happened earlier.
