Faust attempts to heal Allie! Her flesh begins to mend, recovering 3 HP!

FIREMAN raises a flaming eyebrow.

"I'M JUST FINE SITTING INSIDE THE CAR. SO NO. BUT I'LL HEAL YOUR PUNY ALLY. LIVE, INSECT!"

THE LIGHT PURGES the damage from Allie's body, and she recovers 9 HP! Allie wakes up gasping, then looks around in berserky confusion as a shimmering field of spirit armor appears around her. Allie gains 7 Armor!




Allie wakes up from her stupor! She quickly takes the opportunity to heal herself before she explodes! Allie regains 3 HP!


The FIREMAN PURGES again, healing another 9 HP! He then gives Allie another 9 Spirit Armor!

Allie heals herself another 3 times, for 3, 4 and 2 HP respectively. Allie is now at full health!

"SO, HOW LONG UNTIL SHE EXPLODES? I DON'T HAVE ALL DA-"


The FIREMAN is interrupted by an explosion of blood that essentially coats the entire interior of the car red. Allie passes out as her metabolism collapses on itself, dealing 27S damage!

"WELL, AT LEAST I DON'T HAVE TO CLEAN THIS UP. NEXT TIME I WILL BURN YOU ALL TO CINDERS, INSECTS!"

He disappears in a poof of smoke.


Allie looks... Sorta like something out of a horror movie, bloody tears and all. Alas, poor Allie. Who'd have thought the young woman to have so much blood in her?

At least she's alive.






Vargall drives back to the relative safety of the mafia warehouse in the Barrens. The people there give your blood-covered, bullethole-ridden car some odd looks, but let you in nonetheless.


MEANWHILE


Bright hears the sobbing reduce in intensity.

"B-but... You... You did something bad, right? I-I know it was you I saw on TV, and- and there was a shootout happening!"

There is a certain edge to her tone. Something almost like a mother reprimanding her child.

There is a brief pause before Emi speaks again, this time with an edge to her voice.

"Matthew Bright Brightson Junior, don't you throw that bullcrap at me. First, you never even TALKED about marriage before. Second, I'm PRETTY DAMN SURE that are ways to earn money other than SHOOTING UP FREAKING POLICE OFFICERS AND SUMMONING GENOCIDAL COCKROACH GHOSTS. Jesus H. Christ, who do you think you are, some sorta shadowrunner or something?"

Faust pokes at the mysterious gruntsnoring presence in the car, and after some thorough palming and feeling, determines it's probably a horse.

He finds a switch and flips it, turning off the optical camo and- oh look it's Backsmasher! But where did the horse go?




Allie snores.






Vargall texts the number the Don gave them, and receives a message with an address. Driving over to the indicated alley on the edge of the Barrens, he drops the briefcase in a trashcan conspicuously labeled as "NOT MAFIA PROPERTY".

Well, you suppose that's that, then!
