David again sticks close to Wilson, the nearest group member, and while the scratch on his chest hurts, it also seems to be heightening his awareness of the situation, helping more than harming (Roll - Light Scratch = 5) David hears a small rustle to his right and whirls around, firing a burst of PDR rounds without any hesitation. After a few shots towards a patch of trees, he can see splashes of blood lit up by his muzzle flashes, and he stops firing. Just as he thinks the threat is over and lowers his rifle, a panther leaps out from the trees, blood streaming from a dozen bullet holes, forelimbs outstretched and gaping mouth wide open, fangs extended. Before David can raise his rifle, he feels a tingle and the Reactive Energy once again erupts from his chest and slams into the panther, knocking it back into a tree. A burst of rounds from Wilson finally kills it. "Damn, these things are tough." Wilson takes the opportunity to execute the downed monster before it can get up and run. "LET'S GO, ♥♥♥♥!" Elated by her success, Blue Demon runs around slashing wildly at whatever movement she sees. She fails to really hit anything, but she does keep the cats moving, no doubt preventing some of them from launching attacks. At one point, two panthers assail her simultaneously- one leaps out in front of her as a distraction while one jumps down from a tree and smashes into her, taking a bite of her upper shoulder as it falls. She gives a yelp of pain but turns around and cleaves the bastard's head off, holding her sword in her uninjured right arm. She turns around to face the other cat, but it's gone by the time she finishes off the ambushing panther. "No worries- I'll get all of you eventually." Conditions Left Shoulder (-1 to all actions/-2 to actions using left arm for three turns) [***]
NPC/Die Angelus (Roll: 5)
Die struts along the lit path, looking left and right at the forest and failing to detect anything. "Oh, forget this." (Continued in Game Events)
Game Events Die takes a deep breath, drops to her knees, and points her hands towards the thick forest on either side of her. After a few seconds of furious concentration, she mutters an incantation under her breath, and a burst of roaring flames explodes from either hand, engulfing the trees with fire. Everyone in the groups sees the area around her bloom up with flames, but interestingly, none of the trees are being burned. Suddenly, they can see the fire beginning to take different forms- almost like beasts or animals- as it sweeps through the area, hunting for panthers. The fire is quick, but many of the cats are able to run or hide; some are not so lucky. In the brightness of the flames, they see at least four of the cats attacked by the sentient flames, swallowed up and incinerated. After just perhaps twenty seconds of this, the flames abruptly vanish, leaving behind no scorched earth, no smoke, nothing but the four burnt bodies and a very exhausted Die. "That didn't work as well as I'd hoped... but it did help a bit. You guys... need to finish them off." She takes a few deep breaths before standing back up and refocusing on the situation. "They'll take at least two or three minutes to regroup. More than half are down and about half of the ones that are left are injured. But be careful; they're learning from the mistakes of their fallen allies. These last few will be the hardest to kill."

There are not any healthy Panthers detected in the immediate vicinity. However, the VN Warrior does detect the remnant of a radio signal from another semi-sentient robotic device from just back where the others were.
With no spare ammo left, Tyler stashes his guns and pulls out his Machete and Ballistic Knife - ready for some close quarters action. There is another snarl from behind him. He spins around, "Goddamn I thought I kil-" ... and receives a gutful of Panther-claw for his efforts. He swings wildly at the cat but misses.

James watches as two Panthers snarl and hiss at all of them, slowly getting closer. Vlad crouches next to a tree a distance away from him. Andrew jogs in and joins Vlad and they take on the first Panther, but James isn't getting anywhere NEAR Michael. The second Panther takes James as the better choice instead of Michael and Maria. James grins. "Wrong choice, kitty cat." (3+Sly=4): He pulls out his laser pistols and takes aim, circling the Panther. A few blasts leave etched burn marks in the cat's fur and it grows even more aggressive. It take a few steps toward him and then leaps with outstretched claws and a mouthful of teeth. James has seen this attack many times before - only it was done by felonies instead of felines. He drops to the ground and lands on his back. The cat sails right over him and he blasts the underside of it with countless shots from his pistols. When the cat lands from it's leap it's almost whimpering, but still in fighting shape.

Load a HE shell after the smoke grenade, then shoot off the next grenade (stun) in the panther's direction.
