"I've no idea who those men are. It seems this damnable conflict has claimed everyone's passions of late. Me? I prefer my books, and my spells. My party? One of my friends was tried to get detained by some Vranhal mages. They failed and said group of mages was pretty much burnt by a highly skilled mage, who infilitrated them with the power of pathics."

Re: Ad Infidium (Roll 69)
Roll 69 The world as the players know it: (John is in Algus, rest of players are in Esthen) Name: John Freemaneth (TorrentHKU) Race: Human ____________________ You try concentrating a lot of mana into a small space, but all you do is expend mana that rapidly spreads and thins, becoming undetectable. Haiva: ”You don’t know how to do that yet, do you. Well, I guess that’s where we’ll start.”“Pinch” is what she calls it, something about a magic-created substance being a pinch that brings the physical and magical “fields” into contact. Haiva: ”Fields, realms, worlds, dimensions, it’s called many things, but regardless of what it’s called, it acts the same - it allows magic to interact with the world. Some scholars say that ‘magic extinction’ is an unlikely but possible thing if every magic capable creature and construct is destroyed. No more pinches exist, no more magic can be used to create more, no more magic. That brings up the question of how magic came about in the first place, but that’s not important.”The first pinch you learn how to create is a mana conduit - a simple magic substance that mana can travel through and keep the mana contained. It’s a strange form of magic, creating the substance. It feels primitive yet complex, using magic without focusing it. The second pinch you learn to create is the good ‘ol mana stone, which you already know what it does. Haiva: ”While magic and physical forces are treated as separate things, they both follow the Law of Balance: Unbalanced things will always move towards balance. When mana is introduced into a conduit, it spreads thin to completely fill the conduit. When it spreads, it’s like water flooding a trench, the flow can be directed, controlled, and harnessed to do work. In order for continuous work to be produced, a continuous flow of mana must be provided, either by a creature or released from a mana stone. Next we’ll work on focuses. They actually make the mana do things, like a water wheel in a river. Though, do you have any questions so far?”____________________ Conditions:Health: 50/50 Stamina: 4/4 Mana: 6/6 AP: 3/3 Evasion AP: 2/2 Fortification AP: 1/1 Name: Kleigg (TheKebbit) Race: Human ____________________ "Then shake my hand in fellowship, sir - I am that man you seek."He seems to be surprised for a fraction of a second before smiling and shaking your hand. Old Man: ”Glad to have you with us, you can call me Vakaumus, or just ‘Vak’ if you find old names don’t roll off the tongue too well. Now, I suppose you would like to hear the details of your role. We have a magic item in our possession that has a will of its own, you could say. It is kept in a secure room with devices that emit the best non negation anti-magic that we can create. The item is completely contained, but we require use of it. Inside the room it is not operable, and outside it would quickly kill anyone attempting to control it and escape. Your job is to be the controller of this item, using your negation powers to keep yourself safe and the item from going on a rampage. Of course, we will first test your abilities to see if they are strong enough, and help you get stronger if need be. You are a valuable subject, and we won’t throw you into danger without necessary preparations. Additionally, as long as you play your role, we will provide food, shelter, and monetary compensation, as well as protection from anyone who seeks to do you harm. This will also extend to any companions of yours if you wish. Do you have any objections?”____________________ Conditions:Health: 50/50 Stamina: 5/5 Mana: 5/5 AP: 3/3 Captured Spells (0/2) Name: P’orihc (Asklar) Race: Chirop ____________________ "I've no idea who those men are. They failed and said group of mages was pretty much burnt by a highly skilled mage, who infiltrated them with the power of pathics."Red Mage: ”I see. You don’t suppose those men following you had anything to do with the incident? Either working under Vranhal to recapture your friend or the other side eager to find out how much you know? Perhaps you should regroup with your party, safety in numbers.”____________________ Conditions:Health: 40/40 Stamina: 2/2 Mana: 10/10 AP: 2/2 Telepathic AP: 1/1 -Mind Guard (+7 Telepathy Resistance) Name: Ki’stha (Roast Veg) Race: Chirop ____________________ You follow the men a little more to catch more of what they’re saying. The welcome party already confirmed a pair entering Esthen, they will be dealt with soon if they haven’t been already.”You break off here with Kyeltziv and Miimas, seems too dangerous to stay close any longer. Miimas: ”This sounds like quite a mess I’m getting myself into. Well, I guess we don’t have to worry about those two stalkers much longer. Think we should find the others?”____________________ Conditions:Health: 40/40 Stamina: 2/2 Mana: 10/10 AP: 2/2 Name: Kyeltziv (Amazigh) Race: Lupus ____________________ You follow the men a little more to catch more of what they’re saying. "My party seems to not know -or not care- about what's going on. And I am the one that would prefer this conflict to be finished so I could return to my studies. Ironic, isn't it? Anyway, I'll definately take your advice and rejoin with my party, but first I'd like to ask you something. Do you know if there's any kind of group that might have been behind this attack? I tried to find out back in Imum, but I got nothing."

Re: Ad Infidium (Roll 70)
Roll 70 The world as the players know it: (John is in Algus, rest of players are in Esthen) Name: John Freemaneth (TorrentHKU) Race: Human ____________________ "How durable can these pinches be? Are there any other things good at storing or conducting magic, like natural Mana Stones?"Haiva: ”They can be as fragile as glass or as durable as hardened steel, depends on the quality. There aren’t any things like natural mana stones. The ones you find lying around were formed from the corruption event, either materialized underground or dropped from beasts that dropped their stones after dying and decaying.“The training then continues with making focus crystals, which is similar to mana stones but a lot more complex. Something or other about materializing your knowledge in the form of a pinch, you didn’t quite catch it, but at least you can make them. Haiva: ”You can only create focus stones for magic branches that you understand. Like, you can make a kinetic or a light or a fire focus, but you can’t make a dark. Focus stones can be used in constructs to make another focus stone, but it’ll usually be of lower quality compared to the original. The quality of the focus stone you make is also influenced by how adept you are in the magic branch.”After that is the “release pinch” or release crystal, as your Magic Weapons and Constructs book calls them. Pretty much a mana stone that can store spells and quickly release the contents. Haiva: ”Alright, that’s the components.”She pulls a table and a pair of chairs out of thin air and plops them in front of you, as well as dropping some pieces of scrap wood and a walnut-sized crystal on the table. Haiva: ”Grab that mana stone, you’re gonna need it to form all the stuff. Make the full set of components with whatever kind of focus you want and we’ll get you to build a construct.”____________________ Conditions:Health: 50/50 Stamina: 4/4 Mana: 6/6 AP: 3/3 Evasion AP: 2/2 Fortification AP: 1/1 Name: Kleigg (TheKebbit) Race: Human ____________________ "I have none. Let us see if my power is up to snuff."Vakaumus: ”Let’s get started then.”He leads you out of the room, back to the sanctuary of the Mons and to the altar, where you exit the building through a door in the back. Behind the Mons are numerous other buildings that belong to the Second, as well as its followers who move about the streets. Vakaumus: ”Dormitories, academics, a library, and several others. We’ll be using the isolation dome, its walls have defensive magics so one can practice on the inside without worrying about damage to other buildings.”The old man waves to one of the passerbies, a younger fellow in a brown cloak. Vakaumus: ”Armin, can you meet us at the isolation dome with Bulwark?”Armin: ”Yes sir.”Once the two of you reach the dome and enter, you give the place a look-over. The ground is bare earth, while the inside walls of the dome are covered with glass-like lines and speckled with crystals, looking like a complex spiderweb with dewdrops scattered on it. Armin appears shortly after your arrival, holding a tall, thin rectangular box that looks like something you’d store a long musical instrument in. The door to the dome is closed and Vaukamus leads you to the center of the structure. Vaukamus: ”I’ll start off by just throwing some fire at you. Just tell me when you’re ready.”____________________ Conditions:Health: 50/50 Stamina: 5/5 Mana: 5/5 AP: 3/3 Captured Spells (0/2) Name: P’orihc (Asklar) Race: Chirop ____________________ "My party seems to not know -or not care- about what's going on. I tried to find out back in Imum, but I got nothing."Red Mage: ”Hmm, nothing off the top of my head. But I suppose if the suspect is a highly skilled telepath, it would make sense to search somewhere with highly skilled mages? Other than that, I’m afraid I can’t help you.”He pauses, and after barely glancing to the left and right, continues with a strange expression on his face. Red Mage: ”You know, you seem like an experienced mage yourself. If you’ve the aptitude, you should join the Mons of the Second here in Esthen. They’ve got the academics you’re looking for.”____________________ Conditions:Health: 40/40 Stamina: 2/2 Mana: 10/10 AP: 2/2 Telepathic AP: 1/1 -Mind Guard (+6 Telepathy Resistance) Name: Ki’stha (Roast Veg) Race: Chirop ____________________ "Yeah sure, let's look around."The three of you look around to rejoin with the rest of the party. You remember the robed men back near the town entrance saying something about a temple in the south-west edge of the city? Maybe one of your party went there. It doesn’t take long to reach the building. It’s immense, the huge sanctuary where the congregation would be held to the wings that make up the left and right sides of the structure holding a multitude of rooms most likely. A wide flight of stairs lead to the large doorway, and above is the same emblem the robed men had - a sun with seven flames, sitting over a sort of triangle with steps for the sides. A man in a brown robe is stationed beside the opened doors who seems to greet people as they enter. ____________________ Conditions:Health: 40/40 Stamina: 2/2 Mana: 10/10 AP: 2/2 Name: Kyeltziv (Amazigh) Race: Lupus ____________________ Ki’stha: "Yeah sure, let's look around."The three of you look around to rejoin with the rest of the party. "But I'm really not interested in taking sides, I can't feel identified with any. If only this conflict could finish and everyone could go back to minding their own business. Sadly that won't happen without the mandatory bloodshed, lives going to waste. Such a pity.
So, Mons of the Second. What can you tell me about them? Do you think they might share knowledge with me, even if I didn't want to join them?"

> Grab the stone, make a 20 mana Kinetic Bolt focus. It's the best I can do right now. Also make a 20 mana Release, 10 mana mana stone, and conduit to run between them. "Wow, this takes... a lot of mana to create. Jeez, I can barely even make one with my own reserves."
