Re: Roll to Dodge - Illusia
Hmmmm... Strength training, in the most DESTRUCTIVE WAY POSSIBLE! But, uh, while still respecting nature and stuff.

Re: Roll to Dodge - Illusia
I'm really sorry for the waiting, guys. These last two days I've had almost no free time. I'm glad it's finally the weekend. So, without further ado, let the rolls go on!

Johni seems perturbed, and says, "Hey wolf guy! What the ♥♥♥♥ is with your suit?" You are annoyed at this, and the head of your wolf gear turns and growls menacingly. Johni's mouth falls to the ground, and he shuts up. You look around, and see a fallen log on the ground. It's about half the width and length of a tree trunk. Perfection. First, you hack away at the back end of it with your claws rather ferociously, until much of the bark is gone, revealing the lighter brown skin underneath. You then stop with the destruction and pull the log for the remainder of the day's travel. By the time night falls, you're exhausted as hell, but your arms feel like iron.
You sleep soundly that night, your senses only delivering the soft hum of the lazy bumblebees and the crackle of the warm fire.
Inv. [7] -Hammer [3] Eq. -Badass Wolf Gear w/ claws [4] (+1 to all dodge rolls, and Primal Beast Senses) P-Abilities -Expert Craftmanship (+1 to metalwork) -Strong Arms (+1 to strength rolls) (Such as pushing away a huge boulder, stopping rhino's charge with pure strength, etc.) A-Abilities -None Status -None

"Hey wolf guy! What the ♥♥♥♥ is with your suit?" The wolf head of his suit turns to face you. Your eyes go wide. It growls angrily, and you just sit there staring with your mouth open. Never mind... You put together some training excercises and regimen for yourself on the trip and begin experimenting with the martial arts. After a while, you become very accustomed to the use of kicks, blocks, and grabs, but you get too excited. You find good size rock on the road, lift your foot high, and bring it down in a crushing strike. You hear a loud crack, but it isn't the rock. It's your foot.
Pain.
Inv. [4] -Bandage (1) [1] Eq. -Nunchuck Cane [3] P-Abilities -Helping Hand (+1 to assisting friends) -Taekwondo (Chance to block oncoming punches or kicks (4, 5, or 6)) (If you roll a 4, 5, or 6, you block the attack. This does not get rid of your dodge roll. Think of it as a second chance if your dodge roll fails.) A-Abilities -Regeneration -Minor Plant Control Status -Right Foot - Broken (-2 to dodge rolls, No use of foot)
CaveCricket (1)
You search everywhere for an animal to make friends with. You see a bird flying overhead, and call out to it with your mind. It turns in midair immediately and heads you way. As it approches, it seems to get... bigger. And it's taking a while to get down here... Oh crap.
It only looked small because it was so high up.
When the bird reaches you, it's at least human size. You throw yourself to the ground as it swoops overhead. (1 v. 2) It misses, just barely. It was flying so low that it's wing catches and it comes crashing to the ground. Sheesh. You send out a signal to it, once again, and it doesn't respond in any way. It just takes off once again, and in a whirlwind of grass and dust, it is gone.
Inv. [13] -Shortsword [3] -Dan's Black Powder Rifle (Unloaded) [4] -Dagger [2] Eq. -Nikolai's Longsword [4] P-Ablities -Stealthy (+1 to sneak) A-Abilities -Minor Telepathy Status -None

You scan the area for useful stuff.
After some looking, you see something in a nearby hill. What IS that? It's... a door? You walk up to it. Gabriel walks up beside you. "What is that?" He looks at the door pensively. "It must be some creature's home," he says. "Should we investigate, or just leave it? We may want to focus on our primary objective, but as of now, we're just traveling.
Side Quest! - A Door in the Hillside (Accept?)
u]Inv.[/u] [5] -None Eq. -Broken Handle [1] -Chainmail [4] P-Ablities -Fist Fighter (+1 hand to hand combat) A-Abilities -Pyrokinesis Status -None
caekdaemon (1)
You search for ores in the hills nearby. You dig through a bit of earth, but then you run into something strange. A hole. It measures about a foot across, and looks pretty deep. Then you see a pair of glowing eyes in the darkness. Err.... two pairs. Wait! FOUR pairs of eyes! That makes... two, four, six... You count on your fingers. Eight! Hang on a second. That's the same number of eyes for a spi-
It lunges at you from the deep. (2 v. 3) You jump back and kick it in the face as it jumps. It hisses in pain and lowers itself back into the hole.
That was scary.
Inv. -Small Hammer (2) Eq. -Enhanced Large Hammer (4) P-Abilities -Metal Worker (+1 to metalcraft) A-Abilities -Minor Mental Forge Status -Nothing
Torrent (5)
You sift through the tall grass, hoping to come across something. You do. After good bit of searching, you come across a bug. A big bug. It is a large beetle, about the size of your head. It's twitching a bit, but not really moving. You guess that it is hurt. You gingerly lift up the casings, and see that underneath them are wings that look like sawblades. You definitely couldn't fly with those. What are they for? You pick up the beetle. The others probably want to see this.
Inv. [5] -Hip Flask [2] -Razor Beetle [1] Eq. -Dagger [2] P-Abilities -Sleight of Hand (+1 to dexterity) A-Abilities -Minor Force Imbuement -Minor Healing Touch Status -None
Okay. To wrap up, we got quite a bit of ones and fives (Stupid die) and found an opportunity for a side-quest!
Also, I have a question for you guys. I have been using a six-sided die just for the sake of tradition, but I'm starting to think that a 12-sided would be better as far as making abilities more balanced and such. As the players, I am asking you what you want. I don't want to make a change that will make you unhappy. I've already worked out the system for a 12-sided, and am prepared to alter the abilities you already have so they work out. I just need to know what you think. Please post your vote. 6 or 12.
Thanks.

Re: Roll to Dodge - Illusia
I'd prefer to see the 12 sided dice, its more unusual, and your new method of using it may be more fun then the older 6 sided. Continue searching for ore. "Well ♥♥♥♥."

Re: Roll to Dodge - Illusia
It was a pretty nice touch, but in all fairness, he's said he didn't really have much freetime. Oh, I think a 12-sided die would be pretty interesting.
If I know yet about the sidequest, knock on the door. If there's no answer, then bash it open.
If I don't know, then find my inner self in the nature around us.
