You guys overcame its pain threshold as well as brain damage, so it died. GatorJnr had a low threshold - don't expect a similar thing with Mum and Dad.

Andrew snickers at the dead mutant, then with a glance at Vlad, they both charge at GatorDad. Andrew laughs as he gets closer.
"Let us bleed and kill together brother!"
Andrew decides to provide a little distraction while Vlad flanks around behind GatorDad. Andrew wades into the water and points his M4 Beowulf at the Gator's head and fires a few rounds. The rounds ricochet harmlessly off of the scales, before GatorDad swipes at Andrew. Andrew drops into the water to dodge the swipe, but loses hold of his weapon when he comes back up. Vlad successfully attacks GatorDad though, making it retreat to the other lake with GatorMum.
ABILITY USED: Berserk Mode - 2 uses left, then 2 turn cooldown

With a glance at Andrew, Vlad unslings his Saiga-12 Shotgun and charges alongside him. Andrew runs into full view of GatorDad while Vlad goes around behind it. Just as it starts to lift itself up out of the water, Vlad leaps up onto it's leg and runs up its back until he gets to the neck. He unsheathes his Knife and holds it point-down in his off-hand. GatorDad has raised his head and front legs out of the water. Vlad steps onto its head and taunts -
"Toym tew go Waundeer awn yore eyce, mazherfacker!"
- then jumps, spins 180 degrees and slams his knife down into its snout. GatorDad's posture and Vlad's momentum causes him to swing underneath the snout and plant the end of the Shotgun against the softer scales of its throat. He pulls the trigger.
The bottom half of its jaw explodes, sending not only Vlad flying off to land in the water (unharmed), but scatters gory bits of flesh and scales all across the lake. GatorDad roars in extreme pain and lands back on all fours, still alive, and retreats to GatorMum's lake. Vlad lifts himself up from the waters and watches it retreat.
