"So uh, how does this thing work anyway?"

You remove your current armor and walk over to your suit, which opens itself up in a floaty-magic-y way. All you do is back into it and it wraps comfortably around your body. Pretty convenient.

Writing overlaps your vision, saying "Blink three times to start synchronization".

Baltir: "There should be a line of text telepathically sent to you. Do you see it? A telepath did some work to set it up, should allow you to control the suit functions through thought."

Blue Mage: "Guard. Magusalto.

There were constructs. Lot of 'em. Blades, guns. A chirop was leading them, and they had someone that looked like you.

Someone else came, too. Followed them in after they did the fighting. Looked like the Devil."

Adele: "A bit. I imagine he's fairly old, and tired of hearing certain things."

Looks like you have a few minutes left. Could probably find someone to talk to before heading over, or go there early and wait.

You blink three times, and some more text appears, along with some dots.

Five white dots arranged in a crosshair in the center of your view, and a row of ten dots at the bottom. Instructions say to look at specific dots and imagine "pressing" or "activating" others when it says to, some sort of synchronization thing. After a few minutes, you get that done and your vision shows some sort of interface to control the suit, guided by your thought processes.

Managing "Exceptions", blasting something at range with some of the suit's anti-magic, exiting the suit, and a fancy 3D map or something that shows weird lights and lines. A magic detector?

Monk: "How's it feel so far? I think it's pretty cool. Doesn't feel like you're wearing it either, since it can move itself."

She's right - The armor feels weightless, thanks to the kinetics driving the limbs.

Blue Mage: "I'll be fine. I'm stable. I think.

The Devil, you know. Caelum. Infidii.

Looked almost human, but definitely not human. Kinda tall, longish neck. Dark blue dress that looked like it was a part of it. Greatsword thing on its back. Creepy nightmare creature."

Well, got some time left to do whatever. Final preparations or chatting.

Ethan whispers too, maybe thinking you're not a fan of telepathic communication.

Ethan: "Pretty sure if the leviathan killed it, this entire area would be flat."

He sniffs the air for a few seconds, and you and Amelia do as well.

Ethan: "Smell that?"

A faint, smokey smell.

Amelia: "Smells like there was a fire."

Ethan: "Pretty damn recent. I'm keeping a lookout in every direction, but you stay sharp, too. Don't wanna get caught by something that happens to know how to hide itself."

You head back to the city's capital building, making your way through the familiar halls towards Lord Elizabeth's office.

Lucida-armed-Aucupe (and the accompanying Andrew) seems to have joined the door guards, and she gives you a small wave as you head through the double doors.

The lord is at her desk as usual, sipping fresh, hot coffee from her mug. The fake Linna is beside her desk with a rolling cart holding a kettle and various snacks, giving you a miniature curtsy to greet you.

Elizabeth gives you a second or so of eye contact, which is probably the least tiring form of acknowledgement she's willing to give at the moment.

You take a look at the people gathered in the room, that aren't the usuals.

The six-man kinetic sniper team, three of which are carrying quivers of those ♥♥♥♥ bolts that Adele had. Three telepaths, two being Vranhal blue mages, and the third is the Torrent-encased Sanoa.

Horoma is also present, wearing some light armor under her black and gold cloak.

Horoma: "Nice armor."

You press forward with your lance at the ready, covering a good hundred yards or so until you can make out the large, boulder-like shape of the core.

Moving closer and closer, when you're about throwing-distance away from the core you begin to feel, funny.

You take this time to stop and reconsider exactly how close you want to get to this thing.

Blue Mage: "Lots of civilians. Half of Magusalto's population. We tried to send an alert through when we got attacked, but something screwed with our telepathy.

What is your intention? Stopping those constructs? Helping them?"
