Going to a tavern, you buy a small barrel of beer for three silvers and fasten it to your back like a backpack with some rope they gave you for free.

After that, you leave town and head west, on the lookout for bandits and animals. Good news is, you don't really see any bandits. Bad news is, no animals for food. Looks like it's going to be a long trip, and even if you did run into rabbits or something, you don't exactly have the means to hunt.

You move a bit west!

You cast a 6 Mana Spirit Lance on the turtle and it lands, weakening its defenses but ultimately doing nothing for now.

Kyeltziv uses Spirit Lance (6 Mana) on the Turtle
Attack lands, inflicting 0 Spirit damage

The Turtle uses Bite on Kyetlziv
Kyeltziv attempts to evade with Delay and Evade
The turtle only has 4 Aim and Kyeltziv easily evades with little effort
Attack misses!

The turtle lunges at you with a bite in retaliation, but, well, it's a turtle. You simply side-step and back up a bit to evade the powerful snap of its jaws.

Byrnolf: "As long as you keep moving you're fine. If it bites you you're losing an arm!"

You take a sip and your face immediately scrunches in disgust from the intense bitterness. It takes all of your willpower to keep it in your mouth and work it down into your stomach.

You think you burned your tongue, too.

Monk: "How is it?"

Adele: "Pretty sweet, I know. Witch stones are, very difficult to harvest. A lot of their components are corrupted and useless when they lose control of their alteration, some will even make sure to release a blast of corruption to completely ruin all of their AM parts before they die. The little ones as well as the queens are quick to self-corrupt. And. Um. Er, nevermind."

She looks nervous for a moment, but shakes her head to clear her thoughts.

Take the third Witch stone, 2 50 cap stones, and the largest 5 regen stone.

Linna?: "Sounds about right. Lemme have a taste."

Monk pours some for Linna?, who has the intellect to blow on hers first before drinking. She immediately gags and wipes her face with a towel to keep the dark-colored drink from dripping down her face and staining her clothes.

Linna?: "O-okay, that's about right. Give it ten spoons of sugar and I'll take it to the Lord, and you whip up another just like that."

Monk: "Okay."

Ten spoonfuls of sugar go into the kettle and Linna? places it on a serving tray along with a couple of mugs and cloth napkins, then quickly leaving the room. Monk grabs some dark brown beans from a nearby barrel, places them in a new kettle under some sort of metal screen, fills it with water, and places the kettle on the wood stove.

Monk: "Apparently this stuff keeps you awake. Maybe we could bring some for the mission."

Kyeltziv uses Meditate
+24 Spirit Magic Effectiveness

Kyeltziv uses Spirit Lance on the turtle
Attack lands, inflicting 19 Spirit Damage

The turtle attacks Kyeltziv
Kyeltziv calmly sidesteps and evades

Well, you think you did real damage that time.

You take a gulp of your alcohol and continue on.

You make, some progress, you guess. ALSO YOU THINK YOU SAW A RABBIT

THERE ARE RABBITS OUT

Except the grass is also like waist-high so it's really hard to see them. You sorta got lucky.

Adele: "Sssorta."

She doesn't seem like she wants to talk about it.

Adele: "Is that everything you need for equipment? Weapon, armor, mana. Maybe some crossbow bolts."

You hold out a third banana for Monk which she takes, and then you find a barrel of water nearby and use a ladle to put some in a cup. The cool liquid washes away the bitter taste, but only slightly soothes the burns in your mouth.

Monk: "I think I'm going to need like, equipment and stuff. Armor would be nice."

You continue your quest West, ignoring the fleeting sights of rabbits.

Well, you see a fort in the distance now, with pricks of light about it. Lanterns and such.

It looks like there's a large town past that, too.

You lance the turtle and avoid its bite again. And again. And again.

After three or so lances, it seems to be collapsed on the ground, twitching.

Byrnolf: "Alright, rip its core out or whatever you do."

Adele: "Yup. Emiel's armor works on basically anything."

You grab 10 crossbow bolts of ordinary steel, though there appear to be some larger, heavier, non-crossbow bolts that are AM.

You also take a pair of the Bulwark swords, it looks like Adele has five of these for some reason.

Caelum Bulwark Sword (+16 Edge | +4 Impact | +4 Arcane) (Mana: 80/80) (Mana Regen: 2)
-Bulwark Armor (Absorbs all damage) (10 Armor Resilience, 80/80 Durability) (+10 Strength) (+10 Telepathy Resistance)
