You move around the man as silently as possible. Upon reaching the door, you carefully turn the knob, and a loud squeak sounds out as the door opens.

The man jolts awake and takes a second to look at you before flipping through a pack of papers on his desk.

Man: "Wait, uh. Miss Sei?"

Splitting the rocks into two groups, you form a stone halo above your and Adele's head.

"Sure."

A smile spreads across Adele's face while she tries to maintain a neutral expression.

Adele: "I am pleased to hear that you have accepted. Now, if we can return to the mansion, we can get the paperwork out of the way and get you the equipment you need."

You grab all of your gear and head back to Mead, making sure to ignore Vandolf balancing on the fence.

Another long trip and you're back in the lamp shop with Byrnolf, who has a pair of eyeball-looking things with clear wires sticking out the back of them.

Byrnolf: "Eyes are done!"

Man: "Not really. I mean,"

He shows you his papers as if you could read them at the distance and dim lighting.

Man: "This is a medical ward, and you're one of the patients. You're free to leave, but you should check up on one of the healers before you go, make sure you don't have any problems."

He holds one one of the pieces of paper to you.

Man: "This says where your stuff is being stored."

You move the rocks away and cancel the spell, and then follow Adele back into the mansion and to the room with the fireplace. One of the maids sets some paperwork on the coffee table.
Adele: "The first, session, will be after your mission, if you are fine with that. The machinery is not ready yet and will take some time to set up."

She looks at you with a sly smile.

Adele: "Unless, you would like a, practice session."

You take a look at the paper - It has your name, a brief description of what you look like (tall blonde missing her left arm), your position (mercenary), and the location of your equipment (Guest storage building, locker 37)

Man: "I dunno either, I just man the desk."

Adele: "It will succeed. I'll be sure of it.


Well, let's get the paperwork out of the way."

She shows you the forms and you give them a read.

In a nutshell - Beginning the contract, you instantly own half of Adele's assets. A Break of the Contract at any time before the Child (specifically, the daughter that possess both Adele's magic abilities as well as your captivate) will return all of Adele's assets back to her, OR items/property of equal value determined by the court if you no longer possess the same items, OR placing a debt on you.

Any attempts made by you to disrupt the progress of producing the Child may result in a Break of the Contract.

Additionally, you have two guarantees - you will not be permanently harmed during the process of creating the Child.

The other is that Adele Uzziah is bound to be completely loyal to you as a legal wife. This guarantee may be broken by your agreement and signing of an additional contract.

When the Child is successfully created and has reached a stage where it is determined "healthy and fit by medical standards," (something about not suddenly dying for no reason), the contract is completed and the rest of Adele's assets are transferred to you.

There are four areas for people to sign and print their names.

An area for you and a witness, and an area for Adele and a witness.


Butler: "Ma'am, Miimas is here."

Turning to the side, you see the sand-furred Westerner standing with the butler.

Miimas: "Hey John. Apparently I'm here to sign witness to something?"

You begin copying the memory pattern from the doll into the memory stone.

This... Might take a while. It's large and complex, and a lot of places where it's easy to make a mistake.

You get maybe 10% of it done while Byrnolf checks out the rest of the doll.

Byrnolf: "Hmm. Looks like all the controls are done by the memory stone. Guess that makes sense, since it's supposed to act like a body. Lot of parts from Magusalto, too bad that place is shot."

Miimas: "I can see why you'd want to get married. Nice home to come back to. Lots of... Trophies."

Adele: "They're not all mine, many of them were gifts, some I'm just holding on to until they get back from the west."

Miimas: "Oh, you have friends or family over in the murder plains?"

Adele: "I do. It's a profitable trip for skilled hunters - cities pay good money to have hostile witches and other nasties taken care of."

Miimas: "Been through there once, unfortunately I didn't run into any of your folks. Went in with thirty four.

Left with two, including myself."

Adele: "I'm, sorry for your loss."

Miimas: "... At least we took one of those bastards down."
