Post Re: Legends of the Sky
Rolling nao.

Ragdollmaster (Troy) [7]:
"Nice."
Well I AM totally awesome after all.
"Or close enough to it."

You sheath your sword as Swordbro gives a snarky respone, and ignore the stunned looks from Grif and Sedraxis.
"Uh, yeah, we might want to get a move on now, I'm not sure if creating a ground shaking explosion is a crime, but I'd rather not find out."
Suddenly, James swags up the stairs onto the deck.
"Sup. I assume there's a reason we're still here. What is it?"
"Iunno. No reason I guess, we just haven't left yet."

Character

Miggles (Robert Wright) [10]:
"Oh god damn it. Is it really so hard to not destroy anything?"
Whatever. You get off your ass and head down to the engine room. No time like the present, right?
If you remember correctly, the old setup was a main crystal suspended between several fixed rings that drew energy out and distributed to various points across the ship, and at each point it would generate a levitation effect. There were also 2 other smaller crystals, about a 1/3 of the size of the main one, for auxiliary power. Everything from lights to the kitchen to some weapons during battle.
Anyway, when you walk in... You're a bit flabbergasted.
Gone is the 3 fixed metal rings. In their place, 7 blocky, uneven... ring shaped structures of machinery line the crystal, linked together with thin cables and a few rigid connecting portions. The entire thing flexes up and down slowly. You also notice the setting on the ground is significantly changed as well, from a few simple conduit lines to a large mount with cables running off in many directions. There's a similar setup on both of the smaller crystals as well, but with 5 rings on each.
This is going to take... a long while to figure out. You wish you could use your Jumper Charge, but you're not sure the ship wouldn't fall out of the sky if you did.

Character

Fail Flail (Grif Mason) [6]:
"Uh, yeah, we might want to get a move on now, I'm not sure if creating a ground shaking explosion is a crime, but I'd rather not find out."
Troy brushes your concerns off as you notice a couple people approaching the end of the dock cautiously and the people on the ships still staring.

Character

Izen (Sedraxis) [2]:
"Oh god what was that oh god oh geez"
You run up to the deck, and thankfully the ship is NOT under attack. At least by enemies. Your crewmates might be attacking you though.

Character

Maart3n (Mareikura) [2]:
...A weapon lying around, eh... Well you could probably find, like, a crappy spear or rod or something in the cargo. Or maybe one of the others has an extra you can borrow. Dunno.

Character

Tomaster (James Tiber) [8]:
You swag your way up to the top deck, and immediately locate Troy.
"Sup. I assume there's a reason we're still here. What is it?"
"Iunno. No reason I guess, we just haven't left yet."

Hmm.
Okay. Why are people giving us funny looks?

Character

Game Events: "Hey! Is everything alright over there?"
"Yeah, we good! Wait, Troy, we good right?"
"Yep."
"YEP, WE ALL GOOD!"
"...Ok."

So...not to sound...niggardly, but we did blow an awful lot of money in one night. Do we have any sort of plan to, ya know, actually make money?
Look good up on the deck. Be an appropriately awesome First Mate (Self Appointed).

Get to the deck and greet the apparently not so angry mob, see if there's anything I can help with.

Ask crowd where the explosion came from. If they suggest it was from our ship, then dodge the question with my leet Artyful Dodger skills and feign ignorance.
"Psst, Charlotte, can you get everyone to hurry up? And while I doubt you could pilot this thing yourself, under the circumstances you're more than welcome to give it a shot."

Rawrlin.

Ragdollmaster (Troy) [7]:
"Well time to get the hell out anyways. We're going, boys!"
Of course, you don't just fire off the engines and take off. You're in the middle of a crowded shipyard and still tied to the dock besides that. You flag down one of the dock boys, and after 5 minutes he's managed to untie the large ropes holding your ship steady at the dock.
You then direct the ship to go straight up, ignoring the approaching tugboat, and once you're past the point where you could clip another ship, you fire up the engines proper, and head out from the island at a medium pace until you reach a good distance away from the docks.

Character

Miggles (Robert Wright) [2]:
Ok uh the crystals suddenly started glowing, and some parts on the rings are moving, and oh god what's going on. You're scared and confused, and then the ship starts moving, which explains why the engine came to life at least.

Character

Fail Flail (Grif Mason) [9]:
Thankfully, there's no crowd gathered, and Troy even gets things going on his own! Damage control necessary: none.
...
For now. Just wait, with this lot you're sure something will need fixing or solving soon enough.

Character

Izen (Sedraxis) [2]:
"Stupid explosion sounds makin me panicky mumble grumble"
You take the lack of fighting and screaming to mean the crew is NOT attacking the ship, it was just another moment of antics. Thankfully, or maybe not thankfully at all, the ship is soon moving again.

Character

Maart3n (Mareikura) [7]:
You head to the deck to greet the mob, and, uh, what mob? There's no mob out here, nor was there ever one. A flustered dockhand, sure, but he's hardly angry. Or a mob.

Character

Tomaster (James Tiber) [1]:
So...not to sound...niggardly, but we did blow an awful lot of money in one night. Do we have any sort of plan to, ya know, actually make money?
"TREASURE HUNTAN."

...Seriously?
That's...
...
You think you're gonna need another drink.

Character

Game Events: The Storm Sylph takes off, flying out from the docks and back into open Sky. The world beckons, Where shall you go?

Whoops didn't see that question from Tomaster

"Well, if worst comes to worst, we actually have ridiculous amounts of money at the ready. Not quite ready to publicly discuss that, just telling you so you don't worry about us going bankrupt or something. As for making money, we don't really need to, per se, but at the next town, we can pick up odd jobs or something if really necessary. More likely, if we can find some nice loot to sell, that'll be the way we go."

"I think we should go to the south west, what about you guys? "
Get on deck and hang out with the others, not much to do now anyway.

Shhh...don't mention that to the peons. They need to be motivated. Make them think they need to risk their lives for money we don't have.
Take another swig of Thunderwater. Practice some swordsmanship.
