Re: FG Lounge
I also didn't like GGO as much, but in terms of insane main antagonists... It definitely had the most backwards and broken main antagonist of the whole series. Not really sure if this counts as a spoiler but: Let's see... Oh yeah. What I wanted to say about GGO:

Re: FG Lounge
I might lose my net in a day or two for a substantial time period.
I ain't sure how long it'll be gone for, or when it'll go, though.

And I'm back. My net went an hour after I made that post, while I was out doing something.

Re: FG Lounge
Forced/Unforced plot. If anyone wants to talk about it after totally derailing Torrent's RtD on that subject (which was my fault), feel free to continue doing so here.
I already told everyone my tendencies - I like to force people to participate in plot, because I think they just mess around otherwise, making their characters insanely strong, gaining tons of new abilities, and doing shit-stupid things when they get bored of grinding... things that they would NOT do if they were busy with PLOT.
Yes, there's time for gaining new abilities and stuff, but I'll throw those in as extras, sometimes even planning out extra events for each and every player so they can feel special. But no screwing around (not even in Illusia, which was not even planned ahead of time and is my failed attempt to come up with plot as things roll along).
YEP.
... Feel free to ignore my rant and continue the discussion if you wish.

Re: FG Lounge
I find it fun when the players are doing their own thing and loosely following the plot (or not at all). When they go off and do their own thing, I get to expose different sides of the events unfolding, rather then have them all experience the same thing, and give new players an easier pace since they start later in the game and have lesser gear.
Sure, I have to manage multiple parties at the same time, but it's not much of a hassle.

Re: FG Lounge
I'm with Cavecricket. Sure, players go off to grind a fair amount, but if you know the right tricks, that won't help them
