If this is an actual animal/creature, I'm thinking maybe a griffin.

Hence my action having been to sniff out the chimeric lions, from the beginning. I figured it was a chimera from the beginning - but doesn't the classic chimera lack wings?

Of course, but informing other players may also assist in the endeavour to find them. Could always ask around, travellers may have had sightings of chimera, much more likely to get a useful response then smelling them, as they may not have ever entered the smelling range.

Shhhh, smelling things is my destiny! But yeah, I'm really hoping to pick up scents on villagers because unless the next clue is in the back yard of this place I'm not gonna find it. But if I find someone who smells like a big cat thing, then I'll ask them where they've been.

Lets go to Latvia! Heh i googled "The land that sings" and thats what i got. Latvia: occupied by Soviets after world war II and inhabited by residents and non-residents alike. AND MAYBE FLYING LIONS but i doubt it
Another suggestion, Ceasers palace, las vegas. That place has statues of flying lions in frony of it, but idk about the singing part

Re: Roll to Dodge - Illusia
Did I mention that I love not having to copy/paste your statuses due to this conversation puzzle quest thingy? Well, now you know. And this round is overdue, so here it is! The setup of this round will be a lot more like a story and the conversations you've been having. Less first person for each of you. Nikolai begins sniffing around profusely while Adam dreams of a place called Latvia. Raphael decides to say something useful. "Okay, so we need to find a place that matches clues. 'Upon the land that sings,' 'Upon swift wings,' maybe someplace windy? Or with flying animals.""That sounds plausible. I know a good deal of world geography. As far as flying animals, I can tell you that many birds migrate to Stanchia in the North during winter.""They migrate there during winter?""They're Fledoran snowbirds.""Ah." Raphael says, as if that explains everything. (Where the heck is Fledora?) "But," continues the boy, "We're looking for some sort of lion, correct? There are no such things in the Northern regions. Most large mammals like that live in the savannah area east of here."At this time, Niko, not finding any trace of cat smell, decides to voice his thoughts. "Loyens? Hmmmm...Oy hope zaht zeece eez leetoral. Und yew beyter not be loying, for moy toym eez valueble...""You think I made this up?" He seems upset. "That prophecy was found hidden in a wall in a pitch-black cave tunnel.""Ah." Raphael says again, thoughtfully. John comes out of his silence and speaks. "What was your name again?" he asks the boy. "Oh yeah. We were never properly introduced. I'm Gabriel. You guys are...?"The party speaks their names one by one. "Gillian.""John.""Johni.""Raphael.""Adam.""Nikolai." (Through heavy accent, of course.) ... There is silence for a moment. Gabriel breaks it. "We need to stop getting so hung up on the lion and bird stuff," He says. "The rest of the poem could mean a lot, too."The party remains quiet and waits for him to go on, so he pulls over the parchment again and points to a verse as he reads it aloud. "Quote, unquote." He reads. "That suggests speech, doesn't it? It also says "Many words fly out in herds." That means... lots of talking?" He goes on. "...Of hurtful lions..." He fades out, lost in thought. "So... this place has lots of hurtful words flying around?"... More silence. Johni says quietly, "You're the geographer."Gabriel does not respond. Then a smile spreads across his face. "There's only one place the note could be talking about. It's northeast of these mountains. Near Colber, actually, where you guys came from, right? The group nods in unison. "It's called Auid."(That's OW-WEED, not AH-WEED) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Man, that was a long one. Conversations are fun, though. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm trying to avoid changing 'th' sounds to 'z' and 'w' sounds to 'v' sounds because then when I read it, it seems like he's a stereotypical Frenchie-With-a-Mustache villain, but yeah, I'd agree with you.
