Post Re: Cortex Commafia - DAY ONE [9/9]

It was a normal enough day at the front. Well, not quite at the front, the Coalition base was just snugly enough behind the front lines that it could sit content in the knowledge that the hordes of Browncoats, Ronin and other unmentionables on the battlefield were still far enough away that they didn't have to be on constant high alert.

The base's brain idly flipped through its complement of cameras, finding a group of clones running at unusual speed through the corridors. Typical, he really was going to have to get that backup computer replaced. It was supposed to keep the clones at their posts and functioning at a basic level of sapience without requiring his direct control while he was busy elsewhere, but this wouldn't be the first time he'd found it goofing off. Computer shouldn't even be able to goof off! He really was going to have to get someone down to take a look at its AI centre.
Alas, before the poor cortex commander could place the call to requisitions and ask for an expert to come and replace the malfunctioning thing, he was consumed by the blast of the high-yield explosives the party of clones had planted directly under his life support tank.

"Iɴᴛʀᴜᴅᴇʀ Aʟᴇʀᴛ!" was all the backup computer had time to yell before the power suddenly went out and the occupants of the bunker were literally struck dumb by the sudden absence of any form of controlling intelligence, simply dropping to the floor where they stood. All except the anomalous few who, with the sudden absence of guards or pursuers, had time to slow down and celebrate their success. They weren't quite clones at all, if you hadn't picked that up yet, they were enemy forces in disguise.
Indeed, they were still in the throes of victory as they wandered into a large circular room, the lights suddenly flickered back on and all of the doors slammed. Their celebratory high-five interrupted, they quickly backed away to join the other rank-and-file soldiers lying around the floor. It was no time to break cover and get killed now!

"Bᴀᴄᴋᴜᴘ ɢᴇɴᴇʀᴀᴛᴏʀ ᴅᴇᴘʟᴏʏᴇᴅ! Fᴜʟʟ ʙᴀsᴇ ʟᴏᴄᴋᴅᴏᴡɴ ɪɴ ᴇғғᴇᴄᴛ!" A mechanical eye on a stalk descended from the roof of the room and peered around at the assorted clones and robots slowly pulling themselves up from whatever position they had fallen, scrutinising them with as smug as an expression you can make when you don't have most of the components of a face.
"I ʜᴀᴠᴇ ʏᴏᴜ ɴᴏᴡ ɪɴᴛʀᴜᴅᴇʀs! Yᴏᴜ ᴡᴀʟᴋᴇᴅ ʀɪɢʜᴛ ɪɴᴛᴏ ᴍʏ ᴛʀᴀᴘ!
Yᴏᴜ ᴡᴀʟᴋᴇᴅ ʀɪɢʜᴛ ɪɴᴛᴏ ᴛʜɪs ᴠᴇʀʏ ʀᴏᴏᴍ, ɴᴏᴛ ᴋɴᴏᴡɪɴɢ ᴛʜᴀᴛ ɪᴛ ᴡᴀs ʀᴇᴀʟʟʏ ɢᴏɪɴɢ ᴛᴏ ʙᴇ ᴛʜᴇ ʟᴀsᴛ ʀᴏᴏᴍ ʏᴏᴜ ᴇᴠᴇʀ ᴇɴᴛᴇʀᴇᴅ!
Bᴇᴄᴀᴜsᴇ! I ᴀᴍ ɢᴏɪɴɢ ᴛᴏ ᴋɪʟʟ ʏᴏᴜ!"

A pair of gun turrets descended from the roof and whirred threateningly, there was a long pause.
"Exᴄᴇᴘᴛ I ᴅᴏɴ'ᴛ ᴋɴᴏᴡ ᴡʜɪᴄʜ ᴄʟᴏɴᴇs ʏᴏᴜ ᴀʀᴇ. Wᴇʟʟ ᴘʟᴀʏᴇᴅ!
Hʀᴍᴍ... Iғ ʜᴇ ᴡᴇʀᴇ sᴛɪʟʟ ʜᴇʀᴇ ᴛʜᴇ ᴍᴀsᴛᴇʀ ᴡᴏᴜʟᴅ ᴊᴜsᴛ ᴛᴇʟʟ ᴍᴇ ᴛᴏ ғɪɴᴅ ᴏᴜᴛ ғᴏʀ ʜɪᴍ, ʙᴜᴛ ɴᴏᴡ ᴛʜᴀᴛ ʜᴇ ɪs ɢᴏɴᴇ I ᴀᴍ ᴛʜᴇ ᴍᴀsᴛᴇʀ!
Aɴᴅ sᴏ, ɴᴏᴡ I ᴡɪʟʟ ᴛᴇʟʟ ʏᴏᴜ ᴛᴏ ᴅᴏ ᴛʜᴇ ᴊᴏʙ ғᴏʀ ᴍᴇ!

Cʟᴏɴᴇs! Fɪɴᴅ ғᴏʀ ᴍᴇ ᴡʜɪᴄʜ ᴏғ ʏᴏᴜ ᴀʀᴇ sᴇᴄʀᴇᴛʟʏ ᴛʜᴇ ᴇɴᴇᴍʏ sᴏ ᴛʜᴀᴛ I ᴄᴀɴ sʜᴏᴏᴛ ᴛʜᴇᴍ! I ʜᴀᴠᴇ ᴍᴏʀᴇ ɪᴍᴘᴏʀᴛᴀɴᴛ ᴛʜɪɴɢs ᴛᴏ ᴅᴏ..."

And with that rather ominous proclamation, the eye ratcheted itself back into the ceiling and was gone, leaving the assembled troopers (and secret assassins) in a state of bafflement. When it became clear that he wasn't coming back, they decided they had better get on with doing what he said.
I mean, this was basically their first day thinking for themselves but if the computer said they could do it then it couldn't be lying, right? Identifying a group of traitors amongst people who don't even know what their own faces look like is probably a piece of cake.

[PS: This is just flavour. If you want to roleplay then feel free but it is in no way enforced and if this involves broadcasting the fact that you are in the mafia to everyone in the game then I would advise against it because you will lose ;)]

Ok, I'll say something first for the sake of getting this started. Please don't assume this means I'm the enemy, I just want to get this going as quickly as possible. This decision here is either going to be a popularity contest, or having someone killed for the sake of it. Just because we have the possibility of locating an enemy doesn't mean we should.

We're far more likely to hurt the innocent right now than them, so I suggest we wait some time for people to act suspicious before we decide to remove them. I don't want to do the enemy any favours, and I'm fully aware that spending more time with them puts us at risk, but I don't think the odds are in our favour either. We should sit tight and take what's coming for us right now, and do what we have to do later.

I appreciate the possibly suspicious nature of my early remarks, but I wanted to make sure we avoided as much unnecessary killing as possible. We can find these fakes if we give it some time, and some thought.

Operational devices agree with "vegs" opinion, we wait then see "fakes" and neutralize them. Excuse for verbal language failures, these vocal compartments have not used in while.

Of course, clone #V-3G could be simply bluffing, and he really is one of the intruders, but wants to establish trust with the real clones so we won't lynch him.
Then again, it could be a double-bluff. But would a simple clone with low processing power be capable of such?

I say we roll a die and kill that person. Not like we've any leads to go on yet.

Your logic hardware is invalid.

He is faulty, we must dispose of him and order a new DXP-Bot.

Perhaps clone #T-HKU is one of the intruders, and is trying to lynch one of us through pure chance?

Well if we've nothing but people saying "I'm normal, I'm just as normal as any of you", then I don't see how it's much different than picking someone at random.
And besides, I've repeatedly referred to myself as "DiceMeister", how ELSE do you think I was gonna suggest handling this?

Clone #T-HKU has valid reasoning to be given the title 'dicemeister' seeing that he managed to produce a 9 sided die.

Confirmed.

Code:
I cannot support the lynching of a random clone. We could roll a dice and see who we hit, but that would have a much less likely chance of hitting a "Bad guy" then just waiting and seeing who is acting suspicious.
