I just realized that we're boned in any real fight. The shot fired from the tank is probably the only thing that would be reliably lethal. I really need to sprite that gunship.

Two Thorns shoot upwards, spearing the mech mercilessly. The glass around the oily core turns red, and can now be detonated if desired. Detonation is not desired. The crystal under the core also shifts, ready to impale, or if lucky, push away the core. You are similar to me. I see no reason to fight if we can coexist.

Declare. The archer sees the incoming attack, and shoots an arrow off as fast ask he can. He makes a lucky shot, and gets the soldier by the neck. However, the archer is now pumped full of lead and most likely will not survive unless immediate help is given. Below, the peasants continue to construct the fort. EDIT: Also, by the whim of the gods, the contrast on the stone magically changes!

Uh...what? You can't declare before someone posts something, I don't think. The metallic pings of the bullets hitting the glass stop, with minimal damage done. Seconds later, two explosions rip through the air, audible as a sharp and thunderous crack even to those at the other end of the landscape. As the smoke subsides, it is clear that the attack was futile. Luckily for the minuscule platoon, an armistice - and maybe even an alliance - is suggested. As the men holster their arms, a single brave soldier steps forward, in an attempt to communicate peace to the crystalline structure. Far to the east, the walker continues on, almost to the edge of the cliff. The gyrocopter flies in, towards one of the large, abominable creatures, and makes attempts to communicate with it, conveying a simple "Hello". EDIT: I declared first, but he posted his image first. Who shall change their image?

♥♥♥♥ hell ludum dare will have to wait a few minutes. declare. Wondering why he's been standing so long amidst the wreckage of his carefully constructed barricades Sir Reginald Peters springs into action! Making a quick grab for his flare gun as he dives under the falling rubble he quickly fires off his last flare before grabbing the trigger grip of his Maxim and firing with no regard for human safety, thanking the stars he loaded the damn thing with experimental "tracers" before he came. They appear to need some tweaking, however, as the bullets are behaving more like high-velocity firecrackers than a reliable way to check your aim, but they appear to be roughly on target. NOTE: Our hero's hand bombs have been activated by the barrage. I'll animate the explosion next time around, but until then I'd be much obliged if the next capable spriter to take a turn would animate the flare falling short of my attackers by several degrees of magnitude, landing atop the airship if possible.
