Aucupe: "Well, not really, it's more of p-wait, it's a secret! It's REALLY cool when I do it, so I want it to be a surprise!"

Lucida: One of the few things I remember, probably because it was so damn awesome. Y'know those Caelum Enforcers? They keep Caelum mages in line, even the strongest field mages don't tangle with 'em. My battle buddy and I were snooping around some Caelum grounds to the south during the Caelum-Daeli war, intending to smash a bunch of their construct weapons to weaken them. The storage facility was guarded decently on the outside, so we climbed to the roof and found a way in. Once we dropped down, turned out the building was completely empty. Four squads of six Enforcers each had an ambush set up, they had actually planned to catch a supposed inside-man that was selling their weapons to outsiders. Didn't hesitate to try and blast us to bits.

Can't believe we fought our way out of that and lived, though I was missing half a leg. Ran into an enforcer squad on the way from Esthen to Imum too, after breaking out of that antimagic prison. Even in Lucida they're hell to fight.

Damn. 24 Enforcers to 2 little troublemakers.
Really easy to forget how small a fish I still am. How much of your combat stuff do you remember? Not stories, but tactics and techniques and such?

Lucida: It’s all been coming back. Defending Hopluit from bandits and Caelum’s forces really jogged my memory.

Your party enters the forest, travelling North. It would be pitch-black if Lucida wasn’t shining like a miniature sun, illuminating the area.

After you’re quite deep into the forest, there’s an energetic crackling in the night sky, and a massive entity crashes through the trees and halts a foot above the ground, hovering.

”DEMON. PREPARE TO BE DESTROYED.”

Image

The monstrosity has a torso that ends in some spiked abdomen, huge wings sprouting from the shoulders, and powerful arms that end in spiked metal spheres that you could stand inside if they were hollow. A tarnished metal mask covers its “face,” two cutouts where its eyes would be.

It sweeps its arms and the trees in front of it are snapped like toothpicks, clearing the area between it and you.

Andrew: ”Well that got bad really fast!”

Aucupe: ”I hope your sword is REALLY STRONG!”

Lucida: Whelp.

"You think the government in Magusalto's in any condition to provide military assistance? It's worth a shot, I suppose. We only touched their power grid and communications. Perhaps we can take the opportunity to notify the Spiral as well."

Tabi: ”I was planning on going straight to the Spiral, doubt Magusalto’d be in the condition to lend a hand right now.”

The two of you rush towards Magusalto as darkness fills the sky, occasionally turning around to see magic lighting up the giant entity that climbed its way out of the ground.

Reaching the city of towers, the guards that would normally be posted at the bridge are missing. Several lupus and chirop dressed in dark clothing rise up from behind the surrounding hills.

???: ”Oi, it’s Tabi! What’s going on over at the tower?”

Tabi: ”Something was buried down under and it got woke up, it’s possibly some sort of ancient construct. We need help bringing it under control.”

???: ”Can’t really abandon our positions. Head on over the bridge, first tower to the left is one of ours - we’ve got a nice chunk of this side under control. Give the situation to Komen, he’ll figure out what to do.”

Tabi: ”Alright, will do.

C’mon, Kleigg.”

The two of you cross the bridge and the ravine, entering the outer city ring. The area has several gauntleted members of the spiral patrolling, giving the two of you a cautious eye before recognizing Tabi and giving a greeting.

Knocking on the door of the designated tower, it opens up, revealing a lupus dressed in black.

Tabi: ”Tabi Konai. I’m here about the watchtower to the west.”

Lupus: ”Yes, our scouts saw the thing climb out of the ground, we’re discussing it right now. Come on in.”

The two of you enter and follow the lupus to the second floor, where there’s a large room with a table in the center. Several members of the Spiral are around the table, and even more are standing against the walls.

A scarred lupus sitting at the table looks at the two of you.

???: ”Tabi, we could use your help for a bit on the fourth floor - some schematics we’ve found and are trying to make sense of.”

Tabi: ”Yes sir. Kleigg here can give you the news I have.”

The lupus gives a nod while Tabi salutes and, after giving you a quick look, heads up the tower.

???: ”I am Komen, region commander. What news do you bring, Kleigg?”

Tuhota: ”It’s the ‘Game of Stuff!’ There’re a bunch of cards, some paper, and pencils. We take turns being the ‘reader,’ where we take a card and read it aloud, and everyone writes something down, and then the ‘reader’ reads them all and we guess who said what!”

You run through the city and then exit through the western end, taking the path to Luttiim.

Quickly arriving at the city, there are several lights on that illuminate the streets, but it’s not as grand as Teleiat or Magusalto. The towers here are much shorter, and plenty of regular-shaped structures.

You head downstairs while Tuhota goes to Miima's door, opening it up and excitedly telling her that you're playing.

Reaching the living room table, you see the back door open. Horoma walks into the house, carrying a shovel over her shoulder.

Horoma: "Hmm? Something going on?"

Oh ♥♥♥♥ WHAT
"Woah, wait, I'm not a demon!"
> HERE WE GO~
IF it attacks or lunges or tries to engage in hostilities, engage the following battle plan.
Cast Haste with no mana, then 500 mana Fast Forward.
200 mana Power Flow, 100 mana Agility Flow with my AP.

5 no mana Blast Waves to start.
Then, mix 4 Falling Stars with 1 Megaflare a total of 10 times, 40 Falling Stars and 10 Megaflares. Course Correction up to 30 times if needed for the Falling Stars.
Any leftover AP from the chunk allocated for Course Correction, use for more Falling Stars.
Keep 15 AP for dodging. If it attacks after my blitz, use a 75 mana Impulse Evasion for the first attack, since Falling Star stumble. After that, use regular physical dodges.
Spend 5 of the dodge AP on Falling Stars again if my blitz is over and it doesn't seem to be attacking. Only use the last 10 AP on dodges, no matter what.
