If we decide that one of the GMs needs kicking, I can take over.

Re: Magitech: Frontiers
If it's cool with everyone else, I wouldn't mind Roast taking my place. I thought this sounded like a really nice idea but I'm just not getting into it, and I'd hate to slow the game down.
> Isaac: Unholster stormgun and beeline it to the castle. If ambushed; shoot first, ask questions later. Enemy infantry groups? Hit them with a Chainblast. Any bigass ♥♥♥♥ come along, Supershock 'em.
Swearing at the situation, Isaac runs down the street, quickly joining a more major road. There's still no sign of anyone, so Isaac decides that following the alleyways would be a safer mode of passage. Picking one at random, he finds that the buildings are closer in, and lean outwards to make use of the minimal space. All too quickly he loses his direction, and there's no way he could see the castle from here. ============================================= Appearance In five words: Cid Highwind meets Mal Reynolds! A human in his early 30s, 5'11", short black hair, green eyes. Wears a worn-out jumpsuit under an old blue longcoat, with a light chain vest. Skills - Stormgunner: Mastering the use of the fickle Stormguns takes years, but that training pays off... assuming you don't fry yourself in the process. - Stormgun Caster: Isaac uses most of his 'spells' by charging his Stormgun with extra magical effects, rather than straight-up flinging fireballs or whatever. - Fleet of Foot: He can move surprisingly fast when he needs to, whether that's for dodging or running. Wielded - Stormgun: A large, heavy magitech handgun, linked to a belt-mounted power pack via sturdy cable. Very rare, hard to use, and dangerous to everyone. - Stormgun Battery: A heavy magicrystal 'battery', hooked to the Stormgunner's belt. Passively absorbs background magic to recharge itself, absorbs electrical shocks directed at the wielder as well. Book of Storms - Supershock: A supercharged attack from the Stormgun; does more damage. - Chainblast: A special shot that bounces between multiple targets in a chain fashion. - Stormgun Schematics: Essential for the maintenance and manufacture of Stormguns and their power packs. Inventory (3/10 slots) - Goggles: With flip-down tinted lenses, to protect the eyes from the environment or light of stormgun blasts. - Chain Shirt: Well-padded to reduce the chance of being shocked. Only a fool travels without armour. - Mercenary Tags: A set of old dogtags, usually kept in a coat pocket. A memento of past adventures... Condition/s - Stormgunner: +1 to Stormgun attack rolls, significantly reduces chance of lethal mishaps. - Stormgun Battery: +1 to defense rolls against electrical attacks. - Chain Shirt/Fleet of Foot: +1 to defense rolls.

Re: Magitech: Frontiers
Whoops almost forgot to mention something!
Now that the battle has begun, the players should start trying to save various NPCs and supplies around the town. These NPCs and supplies are worth strategic points that will be very useful later on in the game.
Think Mass Effect 3 and its use of Effective Combat Strength.

Except without the terrible magical explosion buttons?
> Isaac: Gtfo out of the alleyways you silly bastard. Keep heading for the castle. Try and save any defending soldiers along the way, round 'em up and drag 'em along to the castle.

Caek, will actions in the future affect this whole ME3 style War Score thing?
Like, if you blow up a major Steinen ammo dump, will it make one of their army divisions undersupplied?

Rollin'.
(Roast Veg) Aeos Drintal [2] As the massive golem smashes through the wall, the shock of the impact shakes everything on the east side of the city, including you. You lose your balance, and stumble backwards off the ledge (2+1+1), but manage to catch the edge and pull yourself back up. You can do little but watch as the Olvitium forces storm in through the breach in the wall, including the massive golem that's now plodding its way towards the castle, unimpeded in the least by any buildings in the way. Now that you're behind it more, you can see a ledge built onto the golem's back, with what looks like 4 mages standing on it around another magic circle connected to all of the magical shackles.
Healthy Appearance: An easily forgettable character. Dark haired, with pale blemished skin and deep blue eyes, slightly hidden by an overgrown fringe. Wears long black robes and stays bare foot all the time. Skills: - Blink and you miss it (Agility +1) - Verbose (Persuasion +1) - Spidey sense (Dodging +1) Wielded: - Long Wandsword - Casting staff - Spiked gloves Spellbook / Design Portfolio - Enchant item - Lightning storm - Teleport - Lift Object Inventory: (2/10 slots) - Encrusted talisman - Pocket watch Condition/s: None _______________________________
Fairy Description: A small ball of aquamarine light, circled by three even smaller motes of similar light. Communicates only in chirps.

Yes.
If you blow up a critical Steinen War Factory for example that produces battle trains, the battle trains that are produced will be smaller, lacking various sections like the combat vehicles, or even being defective, due to missing vital components.
Destroying Power Plants has similar effects, and destroying Olvitiumese buildings will have the same effect on them.

Re: Magitech: Frontiers
aaand suddenly I realize I can't roll tonight, due to the fact that I was dicking off too much in Tribes: Ascend and it's a hideously late hour and I still need to take one of my legendary infinite showers

ROFL...
On topic. Will the system also include helping random people to get rewards, or will there be especially important people that you 'need' to save?

Re: Magitech: Frontiers
Nope guess not, I think it was more about how the rolling turn order was going more than peoples time. I mean its easier to schedule on a regular RTD since you are allowed to roll once everyone posts.

There are zero NPC's who should be immortal.
No one is immortal. No NPC, no player.
There will be penalties for losing certain people though. Like Lord Robert.
There's no guarantee he'll survive without help, nor is there a guarantee he'll need help at all.
