Guns have been, and are still the defacto weapon for pretty much anything. No crazy super-bullets have been designed that can kill with a single shot. Railguns are the best thing since sliced bread in my opinion, but the science behind them still hasn't quite caught up with the badass factor. And that's not even considering the recoil. And more than one is ridiculous, end of story.

Energy Weapons:
Weaponized lasers are pretty commonplace. Any kind of mecha can use them, no recoil, pretty damn accurate. They make decent sniper weapons, except for the relatively low penetration power. Power cost is lower than both plasma weapons and railguns.
Plasma. Oh boy, where to begin. First off, plasma weapons are still in their infancy. The theory has been hammered out fine, the problem is putting it into gun form. It isn't impossible to have a plasma weapon, just don't expect it to be a super-refined death machine. Expect it to be an experimental frankenstein half held together with duck tape. Not to say that it won't be effective; plasma weapons would be dangerous, just fragile and unstable.
Plasma weapons I'm willing to give a slight buff to. Consider them "Expirimental" rather than "Held together with duck tape and prayer."
Shaped Energy. Ha, no. Science hasn't gotten that far yet. It's one thing to launch a glob of plasma or a bolt of lightning at the enemy with reckless abandon. It's an entirely different matter to form it into a sword, or claws, or anything of the sort. This means you MLC.
Okay, I've changed my mind here a little bit. Shielding, as in geometric energy shields of a certain, set shape, are fine. So you can have a big square energy shield strapped to your arm or what have you. Basic geometry is good, anything complex isn't. That means no wraparound shielding.

Explosives:
Missiles. Tracking systems have naturally become more sophisticated, so missiles will be more accurate. Sadly, explosives have not progressed as much. You want a bigger boom, you'll still need bigger missiles. Be aware that missiles CAN be detonated while still on the mecha.
Grenades. Unpropelled explosives, unlike missiles, HAVE become fancier. You can have pretty much anything for these. EMP, chaff, napalm, HE, fragmentation, liquid nitrogen, jamming electronics, whatever. Just use good judgement. No black hole grenades.

Melee:
Bladed Weapons. They have guns. Giant robot guns. Generally, swords aren't used much, just because you will be shot and killed with a gun if you try to. Any Mecha that are going to charge straight into battle on the frontlines should not have a sword. Knives on the other hand, are a good idea. Having a knife for melee or utility or just as a backup is a sound idea. As for what types of blades there are, fancy alloys or metals or whatever are fine, vibration blades and the like are stretching it, so try not to use them. I guess I'll accept a virbato blade, but I'd prefer not to. Energy swords, straight up no.
Okay, if you're going to have the energy sword be a flaming plasma blowtorch, rather than something more akin to a lightsaber, then I'll allow it. And nevermind that my own Mecha has swords.

Setting: This is two years after RtD - Blue. There was a big disaster, the world is wrecked. The only real company maintaining order and technology is NovaCorp. They invented Mechas and the reactors and drives needed to power them. There are a couple manufacturers besides NovaCorp making mecha weaponry, but NovaCorp is the only one making actual mechas. Noone "made their own mech in their mom's basement" or as a side hobby, or something like that. Your mechs have been bought, stolen, found, or whatever else. Not made.

You guys are gonna have a limited supply of munitions and parts. You're all on an aircraft carrier, as part of a sort of private army. Firing off 20,000 missiles at a single enemy will use all your missiles. Keep this in mind.

Superweapons are meant to be a "Aww ♥♥♥♥, I'm in a corner with a broken leg, time to ♥♥♥♥ some serious ♥♥♥♥ up so that my allies can rescue me" type of thing. Keep that in mind.

MECHA TYPES. Oh holy jegus, you guys are bad at this. I have approx 4 lightweights, and only 2 actually heavy mechas. I'm dividing this up a bit. The group will have 2 heavy, 2 medium, and 2 light mechas. Balance, damnit.
Light Mechas: 20-40 tons, 7-10 meters
Med Mechas: 40-70 tons, 10-14 meters
Heavy Mechas: 70-100 tons, 14-17 meters.
I'm okay with going a bit outside this. A medium mecha at 72 tons is fine. A medium at 31 tons is not. Use common sense for this stuff.

Any and all questions, ask at will. I'll be editing the char sheets you guys submit a bit, just for balance etc, but try not to go too nuts. In general, if you don't see it being possible in 30 years, then it won't fly here.

Backstory
While Vladimir was born in Slovenia, he is a citizen of no country, and holds no loyalty to anyone but himself. He travelled the world, fighting for the warring factions that were common in the years before the Armageddon. Less than a week after the Armageddon, he and a few other mercenaries went on a self-motivated raiding of a Mecha facility. They managed to make off with a few of the lesser Mechas, and the crown jewel of the facility, the Goliath Mk.IV. Vladimir went into hiding for about 6 months, during which he upgraded and tweaked the Goliath’s armor, weapons systems, and engines using black market parts. For the past 18 months, Vladimir has been forced to remain in hiding, where the only real experience he’s had is in training simulations and mock battles with other mercenaries. However, it’s finally safe for him to emerge, and he has recently joined up with six other Mecha pilots…

A Mecha design in development since before Armageddon. The engines, weaponry, and armor have all been updated to the newest, but the chassis has been kept. It's extremely heavy and large, designed primarily for support roles and large scale assaults. Originally painted Camo Green, the color scheme has been updated to a more suitable Desert Camo, although it's still difficult to conceal a 62' tall Mecha. It's capable of holding its own against several Mechas in a head-on attack; however, it's more suited to supporting other Mechas, since they can protect its backside. The cockpit and weaponry are mounted on a 360-degree swiveling base, underneath which is a hexapedal base, allowing for movement over extremely rough terrain. However, this configuration means it is incapable of using any sort of additional propulsion methods, such as jets, and is very slow as a result. It often arrives after battles have begun, but is capable of changing the tide once there. The cockpit and legs are heavily armored, accounting for most of its weight. However, the underside of the chassis has only light armor, and is vulnerable as such.

Secondary Weapon
One Hellfire missile system. Packed with 48 missiles of medium size, guided by area designation, it's a fire and forget system. Pick a rough area to bombard, and hit the fire button to launch all 48. Useful against large, stationary units or buildings, not effective against moving targets. Capable of being reloaded, but it's a long and tedious process taking up to three turns, during which the weapon is useless.
Abilities
Heavily Armored: The top of the line plating and armor layering on the majority of the Goliath provides superior protection against all types of attacks. However, this greatly reduces the agility of the Goliath (+1 to defense rolls, -1 to dodging attacks)
Depleted Uranium Slugs: The use of Depleted Uranium as an ammunition is somewhat uncommon nowadays, due to the rarity of Uranium. However, it's still a potent weapon, especially against lightly armored units (+1 to attacks using the main guns)
Morale Boost: The sight of this terrifying beast lumbering over the horizon is strikes both fear into the enemies and pride in the allied forces, knowing that the Goliath has changed the outcome of battles that were thought unwinnable (+1 to all allied rolls at the beginning of the battle, or when the Goliath arrives on the battle scene)
SuperWeapon
Ypsilon Strike: Floods Vladimir's system with massive amounts of adrenaline, allowing him to operate at twice his normal capacity for one turn, and runs the engines into overdrive. He can now use both Heavy Cannons with pinpoint accuracy even when targeting separate units and the reloading systems operate with amazing speed, allowing him to fire both three times in one turn. He can also take control of the Hellfire missile system, and ensure that all missiles hit their target, no matter what the size or speed. All of this culminates into one devastating barrage of death for whoever is unlucky enough to gain his attention and wrath.

Primary Weapon: Innnardsplatter - A short range piercing explosive launcher. Can rapid fire, but overheats. More useful at close range when switched to the shotgun setting.

Secondary Weapon: "Le Big Tweezers" - Able to clamp and hold almost any object for an extended period of time.

Abilities: Scream siren. This device will blast the eardrums to hell of anything not adequately soundproofed. For safety reasons, it will only activate when the Han Van detects extreme danger, including primary systems failiure. The Han Van is adequately soundproofed to prevent damage to the pilot in such a circumstance.

Superweapon: ... I dunno, some kind of acid sprayer thing.

Backstory: Worked as a scientist for 6 years in a lesser know branch of the military studying and developing anything considered useful.
Before the end of the world he created a prototype explosive that could easily pierce through even very dense metals with relative ease. However a test showed the explosives to cause a very large amount of stress to general shielding usually severely damaging the shield or totally disabling it. After Armageddon he joined Nova corp and briefly became a weapon designer helping to create the plans for his own mech.

Mecha

Name: Stinger
Height/Weight: 13 meters and 40 tons
Physical Description: Built around the use of the light rail sniper. Located on the back of the mech in both bipedal and quadruped forms. Mech has the ability to alternate from bipedal to quadruped. Cockpit is in the center of the mech with multiple cameras set up on the outside of the mech. Two jets are set up on the back of the mech for either dashing forward in quadruped form or high jumps in bipedal form. Bipedal form is used mainly for maneuvering and traveling while Quadruped is used for battle and using the rail gun.

Primary Weapon: Machine gun used for suppression and moderate damage.
Secondary Weapon: Light Rail Sniper used for piercing heavy armor and damaging critical areas of mechs (Used in quadruped form)

Super Weapon: Energy blast (Fires an extreme amount of energy from the sniper cannon. Destroys the power cell of the mech and disables the sniper cannon.

SuperWeapon: Electric supercharge (Overloads the battery so that the battery electrifies the whole mech[eletronic layer goes mad showing funky colors and is rendered unusable until repair,same with battery])

I see more than one person with a light or medium mech equipped with a railgun. Just gonna say, they'd probably rip your arms off with the recoil. Railguns aren't like regular bang bang you're dead guns. They accelerate projectiles to RIDICULOUS speeds, and create similarly ridiculous amounts of recoil and require ridiculous amounts of power. Without a heavy mech designed around this or a railgun specifically made for a lighter mech, it just isn't feasible.

HEN: Yours is fine.

Roast Veg: Where to begin... Firstly, age. I refuse to allow a 19 year old pilot, purely on principle. Then the suicide Flamer. Scream Siren, okay. Silly, but ok. The flamer is just stupid. You're lighting yourself on fire and expecting it to protect you. Also, I've never of a fire that could destroy anything with 64 METERS of it. Dayum, that's a pretty large distance.

Se7en: I almost said something about the plasma caster, but upon meditation it's within acceptable limits. You're good.

JJA79: You can be fast, or you can have a strong railgun. A specifically small caliber Railgun I would allow with your current mech. Drill missiles are just plain silly though.

Tokochiro: What the hell I don't even. Okay, in order that I see it.
Light Mecha. No problem here, just putting it down.
Chameleon armor. Alright, but don't expect to be gun or armor heavy.
High Caliber Railgun. First, railguns aren't high caliber ever. Second, hell no. A railgun, even a specifically light one, is too big for a light.
Grenade Launchers. Halve the ammo, then sure.
Sticky Palms. No, that is silly.
Biological Analyzer. See above.
Doomsday Cannon. Just... Just no.

Brown hair and sharp crimson eyes which seem to follow everything at once.
Backstory: Kaime Freins was a soldier, not just any soldier, he was one of the first -- to fight with robotic limbs. People would say cyborgs, but that wasn't true. These parts were controlled by a controller, not by the mind like the traditional cyborg. These limbs were attached to the back of the driver. This allowed soldiers to expose less of their own weaker limbs, and therefor allowed them to fight longer and for a greater efficiency.
It is said the very best could shoot 3 or more people at once. Kaime Freins could shoot 5. When he heard about mechas, he promptly asked to join training, as it sounded like an easy thing to pilot. He customized his mech to have the same controller type as his mechanized limbs, which he still wears today.

Height/Weight: 13m/50 tons
Physical Description: Looks lopsided, the right arm is heavy, weighing in at 10 tons. Whilst the left only weighs about 4. The right arm has 2 auto cannons stacked ontop of each other. Both shoulders have missile canisters. The left arm has a hand.
Classification: Medium
Combat Role: Assault
Weaponry: 2 Autocannons which shoot 112 mm shells. Heat Seeking Missiles.
Equipment: Extra spidery limbs. Has a sharp point, can stab other mechs in vulnerable areas. Jumpjets.
Abilities:
Headshot: Aim a perfect 3 roudn burst from the auto cannons at an enemy mecha's head. [still requires reloading etc, and a turn cooldown, does not work on mechs without heads.]
BugEyed: Can shoot multiple enemys, or keep tracks of their movements. [+1 to multitasking during combat]
Advanced piloting: The legs and spidery limbs are easily maneuverable. [+1 to movement, dodging and flying.]


SuperWeapon: Hunter's jump. Fires all weapons, while jumping onto the enemy mecha and repeatedly beating it down with the spidery limbs.
