You decide to leave the rest of the party behind and move forward by yourself.
The ashy remains of the wooden barricades extend on until the tunnel ends at a short set of stairs, which then continues to a split in tunnel.
There's the forward path, which is obstructed with a metal grate, and a path going to the left, which is clear.

The two of you enter the ironworks, and inside are Blizzard, Tara, and Vattii's head.
Amongst them is Atra, wearing a heavy black robe and what looks like a large, black metal cuff around her left wrist. The broken parts of the sword are still lying on the stool beside the table where you last saw it, but the jeweled pommel is missing.
Blizzard: "Hey, we got her fixed, sorta. Show 'em, Atra."
Atra holds her cuffed limb out in front of her, and after a loud crackle and flash of light, an exact copy of Atra's sword appears in her hand, except the gemstone in the pommel is clear and uncolored.

???: "I'm called Horoma. Um, do you remember Somni? He was my master. He said that you were a friend of his, but he... Isn't around anymore. He told me that I should find a human named 'Mist,' and to make him my new master. So um, here I am."

You ignore the blocked off paths and continue forward. Soon enough, the tunnel is blocked by another grate. On the wall to the left is a metal wheel, to crank some hidden mechanic and open the way, maybe.
Right below the wheel is lupus, lying in a puddle of sewage water and blood, a sword through the front of his chest.
Ettiin: "Looks like he died trying to close that gate, or killed himself after."
Rudo: "And we're going to open it, right. Might make a bit of noise."

Harzipan has been online recently and has read my PMs but hasn't action'd, so I'll be doing full rolls if we have 4 actions.

No response.
Then again, you are decently ahead of everyone else. Isaac seems to have gone brain-dead for some time, and Feiar and Maargral can't just walk barefoot across embers.

"Ah. Good. This is Emiel, he's a good magic weapon smith. He's here to help with repairing the blade permanently."
Emiel: "Uh, hi."
Vattii: "And how is that?"
Emiel: "*Ahem* Well, I've a lot of experience with constructs that manipulate just about every category of magic, I've worked on one of Caelum's Gateways, and I've brought a bunch of tools. So, I think I might be able to help SOME way."
Blizzard: "Well, the parts are here, and we have a complete map of Atra's energy channels."
Emiel sets down his pack to look at the diagram and parts.
Blizzard: "See those red lines? They show where the breaks are."
Emiel: "And they're cutting right through the primary struct."
Blizzard: "Yup."
Emiel: "Ouch."
The two of them continue pointing out things in the diagram, discussing various issues that might come up if things aren't connected properly, and other things that you don't quite understand.
Maybe that's why LucidAucupe just sat outside.

"Likely. I'll open it, so stand at the ready with that crossbow."
Ettiin, Rudo, and Koa stand ready as you start turning the wheel. The gate slowly raises while a loud ratcheting noise echoes throughout the tunnel. Another sound soon becomes audible, a rapid tapping noise, like a dog's nails hitting the ground as it runs on a hard surface.
Koa: "They're here."
There's a loud metallic snap as Rudo's crossbow fires, followed by a curse as she apparently misses. Instead of reloading the weapon, she slings the weapon over her shoulder, holds both hands forward, and a bright orange sphere appears.
Rudo: "Keep opening the gate! It'll get damaged if it's in the way!"
Koa: "Close the gate! You can't hit them all!"
The gate is already half-open. You still have time to close it completely - or open it completely.

You return to the group, where Isaac still looks brain-dead.
Feiar: "Hey, can't you just put ice on the embers? To cool it down faster."

You let the nerds be nerds and exit the ironworks, leaning against the wall by LucidAucupe.
The four of you rest there in silence, watching the wind whip the sunlight-happy grass around.
Aucupe: "When this is all over, what do we do?"

"We're here to clean them out anyway! Ready yourselves!"
Empowering your arms with kinetics, you fling open the gate the rest of the way with a quick turn of the wheel. Drawing your weapons, you, Ettiin, and Uugram stand ready.
A blast of air hits your face, and Rudo's ball of light surges forward in the form of a raging fireball, roaring as it surges down the tunnel and vaporizing shallow puddles it passes over. You briefly see a beastly outline before the fireball explodes, unleashing an inferno that obscures everything ahead from view.
It takes several seconds for the fires to clear, and when they do, you see seven burning bodies lying on the tunnel floor, and four blurred shapes charging towards your party. Rudo is already backing up slightly and reloading her crossbow while Koa flicks her only hand at the beasts.
Two of them suddenly trip and land right in front of Ettiin, who quickly finishes them off with quick killing blows.
You: 1 + 2 + 2 = 5 vs 8 = 5 + 3 :Enemy
The remaining two jump at you and Ettiin, faster than you expected, and you feel yourself slam backwards into the ground and a limb strike your helm. You don't actually feel any pain, apparently the armor protects your body from sudden acceleration and deceleration, and the beast seems to fly off of you on its own accord.
Quickly getting back to your feet, you take a look at the lupus that pounced you to see it pinned to the sewer wall with a metal bolt.
Ettiin: "Well, that could've gone worse. You okay?"
Uugram flicks his head, throwing half of a lupus corpse from his maw, the other half lying at his feet.
Uugram: Fire consumes air. There is limited air underground.
Rudo: "Er, right. Sorry."

"Rest. Rebuild. Relax. In that order. I doubt we'll get much peace for a long while. The world's gonna need us to shore it up. But once this is done with, they can sort it out themselves. Just for a bit. Just for while we sort ourselves out."
