You stamp Whirlwind on the ground and make a small gust of wind, blowing the blanket off of the girl who gives a small yelp.

She's wearing what appears to be long tattered black pants and the remains of a white button-down sleeved shirt. Except, the shirt being covered in mud and blood isn't exactly white anymore. Tears and holes in her clothing reveal various wounds that range from cuts to bruises to shallow chunks of flesh missing, as well as burn marks and generally blood splotches everywhere. Her right arm from the elbow down is a flawless white, reminding you of Naomi's avatar form somewhat.

... Maybe you shouldn't have blown a blanket off of someone who obviously tried to cover themself up, but it can't be helped now.

"Me then. Girly, I'm not here to hurt you, promise.
I'd be a pretty shitty hero if I were."

She moves her arms to cover her self, and while you quickly avert your eyes, you don't miss the large, straight scar going across her chest, visible under a cut in her shirt. Her eyes looking at you in a nervous expression.

???: "You... Promise?"

With Naomi's help, the armor comes off and hovers by your side, the pieces connected with the clear fluid as usual. You take off your Red Mage's robe and pass it over to the girl, who puts it on hesitantly.

You didn't notice before, since you were trying to keep your eyes from prying too much, but as the girl puts on the robe, you see a collar around her neck composed of dull, grey, metal segmented sections. The necklace, perhaps?

It quickly goes out of sight as she cloaks herself in the robe, hiding all of her injuries except a few light cuts on her face.

???: "So, we're going to Venari? I guess I'm ready to go."

The Whirlwind armor floats over and attaches back to your body, reforming the suit once again.

Naomi: Better not keep the others waiting too long.

The two of you head towards the cottage door, and the girl steps into a pair of boots before the two of you are in the green plains and heading towards Venari.

The trip is silent except for the wind blowing by and the rustle of the tall grass, a peaceful chorus of a thousand plants and a solo of a breeze. Soon enough, you meet up with the rest of your allies, grouped together and looking at the walled city of Venari in the distance.

The girl gasps slightly and bows her head, obscuring her face with the cloak, while Blizzard and Kyros stare at her, seemingly on edge.

One of the chirop from Kyro's party, armored and wielding a sword, calls out to you.

Ettiin: "Hey! Who's your friend?"

> Your party stays where they are, taking in the sight of the rolling hills and the sound of the rustling of grass. It isn't long before John returns, now accompanied with a human woman wearing a red mage's cloak.

You lock eyes with the woman for a second, realizing that she looks exactly like the woman that had Talon, and she seems to recognize you as well, quickly ducking her head to hide her face behind the cloak's hood.

Beside you, Blizzard stands on edge, both hands ready to draw swords. Ettiin doesn't seem to recognize her, though.

Blizzard and Kyros talk amongst themselves while the girl inches closer to your side. Blizzard then raises an arm and the girl flinches.

Blizzard: "Lo there! Might you introduce yourself?"

???: "My name's Darla! Nice to meet you!"

Darla's voice is quivering, and keeps her face obscured by the hood. Blizzard talks quietly amongst his group again, while the girl turns her head slightly towards you.

Darla: "Are... Those your friends?"

Blizzard: "Yes. She doesn't seem to have the helm and greaves, but that doesn't mean she's not a threat. She still has an item from before, one that I don't recognize.
She also has both of her arms, and the feel of an avatar, but the blood and cuts on her face say otherwise."

He raises a hand into the air and the woman visibly flinches, but no shower of ice comes, just a friendly voice.

Blizzard: "Lo there! Might you introduce yourself?"

Ettiin and Koa seem to get an idea on what's going on, with the former calmly resting a hand on the pommel of her weapon, and the latter analyzing the girl with narrowed eyes.

???: "My name's Darla! Nice to meet you!"

The girl's voice is quivering, and keeps her face obscured by the hood.

Blizzard maintains his friendly expression and posture while quietly speaking to your party.

Blizzard: "I'm not sure how to progress from here. We could either interrogate her, or quietly let her join us and stay on guard."

You head over the door, taking care to step over or around the corpses, and take a look.

It's made of wood and looks quite beaten-up, and through the cracks you can see debris barring it on the other side. Getting through quickly could be loud, but getting through quietly will take some time.

"Before we pretend to be amiable, I'd like to know why you attacked my friends and I back at the spire."

She takes breath in, and then out, before replying.

Darla: "I was given a job, the tools to do it, and a reward. I... failed, and then was given a second chance, and I succeeded."
