As you all strap in and vargall starts speeding forwards once again, Faust decides to summon an air spirit to help in the getaway. He concentrates and-

*SPLURT*

Well that was one big nosebleed. Vargall grimaces at the now-red synthleather of his car's back seat. Faust takes 6P Drain!

The elf lady shrieks in surprise as your ride becomes even more cramped. A woman made of storms is now sitting along with you, awaiting your instructions.



The storm gives you a thumbs up, and its face flares up in a grin of lightning.

Meanwhile, Vargall has finally made it into the main street, and is heading up the bridge to Redmond. Right at the summit, there seems to be a police blockade. A burly troll yells at you with a loudspeaker.

"STOP RIGHT THERE, CRIMINAL SCUM! THIS IS YOUR LAST WARN-"

WHOMPF

There is a muffled thud, and everything goes black for a moment as the G-forces push the blood out of your eyes. You regain sight a few moments later, but, still dizzy, can't seem to find the road anymore!

Vargall looks at the speedometer and gives it a little tap. 1800 miles per hour? That can't be right. He looks at the rear view mirror. Hey look, there's Seattle! Why does it look so tiny, though?

The storm crosses her arms behind her head and reclines onto her seat.


MEANWHILE...


Bright gets home, turns on the TV, and goes get something to eat from the fridge.

BOOOOOOOOM

...what was that noise? And why are all your windows suddenly broken?



What will you do?

The storm rolls her invisible eyeballs at Vargall and snaps her fingers. The car is no longer exempt from drag, and will begin slowing down shortly.

Wait.

You're now being affected by air friction. At 1800 miles per hour.

This might not have been such a good idea.


The windshield cracks then shatters under the immense pressure, showering you with fragments and exposing you to the frigid winds. You are now 26000 feet hight in the air, but descending rapidly. It feels like a good time to scream, but the flow of air is strong enough to stop you from exhaling. The elf lady almost flies out through the back window, but Backsmasher manages to grab her by the collar with his meaty troll hands as you tumble through the sky.

As you approach the ground, the atmosphere seems to become thicker, almost soupy in consistence, and the car slows to much more manageable speeds. You can see you're flying over a heavily forested area, heading roughly towards the Rocky Mountains. Now would be a good time to pick a landing spot, lest the unruly elemental choose in your place!


*MEANWHILE*





Bright absentmindedly listens to the newscast as he affixes his kit of anti-storm plywood over his windows.

"Just now, there have been multiple reports of an explosion on the Bellevue-Redmond highway bridge. According to a preliminary report from our sources, this is the work of the same terrorist group that raided a Stuffer Shack this morning, they seem to have detonaded a car bomb of some sort. Lone Star has yet to give an official statement, but..."

Well, seems like your "buddies" are now a pile of ash on the road. Coulda gone worse, there should be at least some fifty bucks left after repairing your windows.

Faust attempts to give the spirit directions, but is interrupted by Allie gently caressing his mouth with her hand.

There is a brief, awkward pause, until she withdraws her now-red fingertips and wipes them on a napkin. Faust notices his nosebleed has stopped!


Finding a reasonably tree-free area to land on, Faust tells the spirit to direct their fall there. With a barely perceptible change in its aerodynamic properties, your impromptu glider begins to descend towards it at a reasonable pace. This might not be such a bad landi-


*CLUNK- POOF*


Good thing the airbags on this thing are self-resetting.

Vargall's car, surprisingly, takes no damage from the impact, other than the previously-shattered windshield. Truly a dependable vehicle!

Faust slams his face on the back of Backsmasher's seat, taking 5P damage. So much for not having a nosebleed.

Allie, having slipped loose from her seat belt, is thrown onto the roof and gets an exposed fracture to her left arm for her trouble. Allie takes 5P damage!

Vargall's back hurts a bit, but it could be a lot worse. He takes only 2P damage, but curses like a sailor at it.

Backsmasher... Is a Troll. He found the airbag quite soft, and wonders if he could get one of those as a pillow.

As to the elf lady-

Oh ♥♥♥♥.

Uhm. At least she's not awake right now. It looks like it uh- Yeah that seems like it'd hurt a lot. Oh dear. They make synthskin replacement faces back in town, don't they?

Bright takes a peek through the window with his vision enhancement. Hm, that helicopter seems to be going quite fast for such a low-flying craft, you-
