"Hey swiftclaw, what exactly was that stone of yours made of again? 'Cause you've got 50 gold and I've got magic rocks."
Get the 100 gold and walk into a store of arcane-and-strange-magical-things-of-extreme-value.

REVISING ACTION.

Peer at the magic rocks. If they are of the proper material, toss him the gold and take them wordlessly.
> If the rocks are of the correct type, proceed to make myself a new Levistone.

I'll find a way to make them resistant to lightning sometime soon.

Hey look! Rolls!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
TheKebbit\Iron Mauler= 19
Strolling down a dark alleyway, a tavern by the name "The Mended Drum" catches your eye and you decide to head in.
After sitting down at the bar, you call over the bar keeper
"...I'm in a very particular business; ████████ING DEATH."
A voice speaks from the stool next to you.
"OH, UM, I THINK I'LL TAKE MY LEAVE THEN..."
Sizing hold of the source of the voice, you (unintentionally) yell,
"WHAT DID YOU SAY?!"
It's surprisingly difficult to make out the figure you just grabbed, funny, you don't remember having anything to drink.
TorrentHKU\John= 8
Stumbling around the merchant district for a few hours, you manage to find a small blacksmith, who conveniently sells weapons and armour for a living.
You go to ask about prices, but you should probably have something in mind before you ask.
Huntsman\Henry= 5 (Again!)
Wandering off to find some light armour, you get drawn into the large crowds that inhabit the town square.
Being pushed along with the ebbs and flows of the crowd starts to make you feel claustrophobic, it’s almost like the chest back in the dungeon, he, hehe...
People around you start to look a bit upset by your hyperventilation and the strange smile, but weather this is from fear or genuine concern is unknown.
Nonsequitorian\Ulysses= 3
You head off to a nice sunny part of the town and admire the wide streets, well maintained houses and the way the children are free to play on the street.
You see a bright and cheery looking tavern and decide to head in.
After taking a seat near the stage, you notice more and more people pouring in, and as the doors close and blinds shut, you realise that even if you had wanted to leave sooner, you probably couldn't have pushed past this many people.
Hoping for the best you put on a brave smile.
It quickly disappears when strange black robes are handed out among the crowd, you have no choice but to don yours like the others. Glancing around for any exits, you notice the door which you came through, and a back door, not that you could get to either without causing a large disturbance. As they start chanting, you try and follow, their words are gibberish to you, but no-one can even hear you over the sounds of the screaming children being dragged onto the stag~ ohgodhowdidthishappenwhyareyouhere
maart3n\Mulch= 2
"Hey swiftclaw, what exactly was that stone of yours made of again? 'Cause you've got 50 gold and I've got magic rocks."
"40."
"30!"
He nods, hands over the coins and walks away with the stones.
...
♥♥♥♥.
Find a store with some sort of interesting inventory, of either magical or mechanical nature.
Bad things are going to happen to the kids if you do nothing, actually lets create some motivation.
If you don't attempt to help by next turn, they die.
Holy ♥♥♥♥, looks like it's lucky roll #20 eh?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

TorrentHKU\John= 20
"I've got a shield that needs some prettying up."
"Alrighty then... My, that's quite a rare shield you have there young man, let's see... 1st series, lucky you, it's widely agreed that they were better made then the others, 1st shipment, Haha, never dreamed I'd see-"
Looking up at the blacksmith, you see an expression of pure awe. This ought'a be good.
" This- this is the Metal Shield!"
Your eyes move back down to the shield.
"Uh, I was under the impression that metal was a common material for shields?"
"You mean you haven't heard of the elemental shields?!"
Before you can answer, he starts speaking.
"Centuries ago, a huge section of this area was ruled by a whole manner of Magicians, Master Swordsman and Alchemists...
"Alchemists?"
Giving you a rather blank stare, the black smith replies.
"You're not from around here are you."
"Alchemy is like magic, but adheres to strict scientific laws... essentially Alchemists use a technique smiler to magic to change one object into another, as long as they're made of a smiler material."

"Anyway, Aegis (an Alchemist himself) is said to have created the first lot of these shields personally, to be given to who we now call the Elemental Heroes, people of legend. The first, however was created out of a huge quantity of Adamantium, a supposed cosmological constant, a metal that until recently, was thought could be neither created or destroyed. It can only be manipulated through Alchemy, is immune to magic, and is incredibly light."
Picking up your shield, he has another good look at it.
"The shield itself has a ton of spare Adamant, so you could increase the shields size, or even create a weapon out of it..."
He touches the surface, and in a flash of light, the shield looks better than new, and although it looks just like steel, it seems to have a slight glow about it.
"Free of charge, as well as..."
Ducking out behind the shop, he returns with a dusty old book, the title proudly saying METAL ALCHEMY
"It does me little good now days, I've already memorized most of the simpler techniques, and I have no need for the advanced stuff. A good thing about that edition is it contains a nice summery of the laws as well."
Speechless at his generosity, you can't say a word as he leads you to the door.
"Careful out there, there are many people who would kill for an artifact like that."
you get gently pushed back onto the street, and gaze at the shield in your arms.
Even though it's amazingly light, it feels heavier than ever.
Obtained!
-The Metal Shield
-Book: Metal Alchemy

TheKebbit\Iron Mauler= 18
You seem to (mostly) get a grip on the yelling before speaking again.
"Ah, you don't know where I can get some bloody poisons, do you!"
"AH, WELL, UM, THERE ARE A FEW PLACES ON BLACK ST, ALTHOUGH THERES A SALE ON AT-"
You flinch at a barfly landing on your arm, causing you to accidentally slam the figure against the bar.
"OR, I COULD GIVE YOU THIS."
He thrusts a small dark bottle into hands, causing you to drop him.
Seizing this opportunity, the figure grabs his farming equipment and leaps out the door.
Your attention is however entirely focused on the bottle, a spherical vessel containing a pitch black substance, on the surface, the only symbols are a typical skull and crossbones and a strange sideways 8.
Items Get!
-DEATHS VESSEL!

Huntsman\Henry= -(Haha, you 'rolled' a 20 as well, but you didn't have an action)
You start laughing, louder, and crying at the same time... but there's a voice.
Come to me.
For some reason, you start to run of to the happier part of town...
"Puuuuuuussssyy cat. Puuuuuuussssssyyyy cat!"

Nonsequitorian\Ulysses= 20
Slipping a knife in the spine of the man in front of you, you clean your knife and use his death as a distraction to stealthy head to the the side of the stage.
In a blink of the eye, the three men holding the children collapse with blood spurting from their chests, and you push the children behind you as you take on a fighting stance.
While most of the bars occupants are unarmed and stay back, some of the men have knives and short swords, and are mercilessly cut down with sword slashes that cannot be seen with the naked eye. Although the children are still crying, they cling to your cloak for safety, so at least you know you haven't interrupted a weird birthday party or something. The feeling of relief is short lived however, as the entirety of the taverns occupants arm them self with makeshift weapons ranging from shattered glasses to the legs of broken bar stools.
Dammit. This is going to be a close one...
Suddenly the door bursts open, and a shining figure start cleaving her way across the room.
While your well trained eyes can spot a female from 5 miles away in a sand storm, it takes a few seconds to note a couple of arguably more important features. Such as the gilded mithril plate (Which seems to unfortunately be made for practicality, not looks) and the large bastard sword she's swinging around like conductors baton.
Within moments, she's created a bloody trail to the stage, and turns her back to you, indicating a stance reserved for fighting in pairs. Joining her, you look around the room, it seems this mystery girl has cleared out around half of the robe wearers, but the remainder seem almost enraged by her presence. Glancing over your shoulder, you take a better look at your new ally, She's just under averaged hight, with short blond hair and dark green eyes, and you completely just missed what she said to you.
"Sorry, didn't catch that. Names Ulysses by the way..."
"Yeah, whatever, I'll explain everything later then, for now let's just say I know Misha."
Someone in the crowd makes a move, and she leaps into action before you can ask anymore questions.

Nighthawk\Mir Swiftclaw= 13
Wandering around some of the shadier looking area, you see a strange scythe wielding figure exit a bar and run for his life down the street, and shortly after, some brutes (obviously looking for a fight) enter the same bar.

maart3n\Mulch= 10
"The ♥♥♥♥ did I just do?"
Your question swiftly gets answered by you being knocked to the ground by a figure in mithril plate, and you are left in a confused state as she dashes down the road.
Looking at the sign above you see that you have fallen next to a magical odds and ends shop, might be worth while checking out, although you might be able to catch up with that irresponsible young hoon if you tried.

"Oy, it's Mir. Good to see you; do you know who the ████ that man in the black robe was?"

After greeting Mir, size up the thugs that just came in and prepare for a fight.

If I didn't know better I'd say you just pulled Nairle into your game.
But that'd be silly.
