Stick around, attempting to light the fire. If the people come back, tag along. Check prerequisites for a sniping shot.

>Ask the bartender if he needs any help around the place, maybe help cleaning up for the night or something; anything I could do to earn a few quick [whatever currency we're using].
You pick up the plushie, holding it like a mother would to look over her child, and give it a warm, cuddly hug.
Erale tries to stifle a giggle but fails, and you can feel your face turning hot as she snickers at your childish gesture.
Whipping around and pacing back the direction you came, you ignore your foolish companion and her inability to appreciate kawaii plush toys as you tromp through the forest, eventually meeting up with Vesh.
You consider giving him a spark of lightning to start his fire, but he seems to prefer to abandon it and follow you, so the three of you cross the grassy plains while you mess with magnetic control and reach the town in no time.
<< Conditions : HP : 4/4 SP : 1/1 MP : 4.2/6
Race : Human Description : Descendant of a great hero, her pedigree has led to high expectations throughout life, until she finally grew sick of it and ran away from home, off to make her own name where she is still unknown. You finish learning your smashingly powerful skill.
"Wizardly-looking sir! Does this compass indicate how close an item may be?"
???: "Not quite, but at the range it works, the item would either be nearby or further away but more powerful."
<< Conditions : HP : 4/4 SP : 1/1 MP : 3/3
Race : Human Description : A towering figure with broad shoulders, rapidly balding skull matted with thick scarring. He scans his surroundings furtively with bloodshot grey eyes, fists clenched as he churns through contingency plans. Inventory (9.5/10) : * Brown Cotton Slacks (Weight 0.1)
- Enchanted Compass (Weight : 0.1) - Sometimes will lead you to places of interest.
- Stat Reset Potion (Weight : 0) Skills : - Refine Iron Ore (Crafting) - Turns 5 Iron Ore into 1 Iron Ingot through heat and brute force. Can use 2 times per turn.
- Kinetic Strike (Melee Magic) (+X STR) (-X MP) - Spend MP to increase physical attacks by the amount of MP spent. Maximum damage boost is equal to your INT. Stats : Unspent Points : 0 STR : 10 INT : 6 AGI : 2 AIM : 2 LUK : 2 PDF : 2 MDF : 1 HP : 4 SP : 1 MP : 3
BearsofInsanity Name : (Lv 21) Vesh >>
You stay where you are, attempting to rub two sticks together to make a fire.
You don't seem to make any progress, maybe because you can barely see what you're doing.
Erale and the light-haired girl return though, so you get up and follow them, travelling across the dark plains and reaching the town.
<< Conditions : HP : 3/3 SP : 3/3 MP : 1/1
- Heavy Load (-3.5 AGI) - Carrying too many items.
Race : Human Description : Vesh is a short, unremarkable human being. Brown hair, eyes, white skin, no defining features. And he is an excellent marksman and an unreliable human being. Do not trust with anything you ever want to see again. Inventory (2.55/2) : * White Cotton Button-Down Shirt (Weight 0.1) * Brown Cotton Slacks (Weight 0.1)
You ask the bartender if he needs help with anything, anything that you could do to make some quick money. Unfortunately, he tells you that there are a suitable number of employees operating the tavern, and they have everything handled.
<< Conditions : HP : 4/4 SP : 1/1 MP : 1/1
Race : Human Description : A tall, lanky man with lightly tanned skin. Wears his dark brown hair in a very tight tail at the base of his neck. He generally attempts to remain aloof and mysterious, if only because his true self is hopelessly mundane. He has no real talents to speak of, relying only on his uncanny luck to coast dimly through life. Inventory (3.13/4) : * White Cotton Button-Down Shirt (Weight 0.1) * Brown Cotton Slacks (Weight 0.1)
You try to stifle a giggle as Mikoto picks up the plushie and gives it a hug like a child would to a stuffed bear. You're pretty sure she hears you though, and she quickly turns around and walks back to the bridge, you following close behind.
Your duo passes Vesh along the way, and he joins to make it a trio, all three of you arriving at the town in no time.
The scissors, however, continue to be a mystery. The only thing they seem capable of is cutting things.
<< Conditions : HP : 3/3 SP : 3/3 MP : 3/3
Race : Human Description : Scrappy Lass, and by all means, light and light-footed. Her build is more focused on her lower body, giving her a slight pear appearance. Otherwise she has her dark hair braided back into itself to keep it short, and has a penchant of for adorning it. Inventory (0.3/1) : * White Cotton Button-Down Shirt (Weight 0.1) * Brown Cotton Slacks (Weight 0.1)
- Golden Shears (Weight : 0.1)
- Stat Reset Potion (Weight : 0) Skills : - Lightning Sparks (Magic) - Creates light using lightning sparks. Stops MP regen during use. - Lightning Bolt Lv 1 (Ranged Magic) (+1 INT , +1 AIM) (-1 MP) - Fire off a bolt of lightning.
The banging stops, and the sound of footsteps sound from the doorway, followed by the appearance of a lean, well-built man.
???: "What can I do for you?"
You ask him about a long-sleeved shirt of chainmail and a cuirass, and he goes back through the doorway before returning with both items, 6 gold a piece.
Man, these are heavy. You sure you want to buy them?
Race : Human Description : A large, pale man with jet black hair. He has a thick build and a goatee with stubble. He doesn't move very fast, nor is he very smart. He is, however, as strong as an ox and as lucky as a leprechaun. Inventory (4.5/8) : * White Cotton Button-Down Shirt (Weight 0.1) * Brown Cotton Slacks (Weight 0.1)

"I'll take them. They'll make decent weight training, too."
Buy and equip, then go for a run around the town to train strength and endurance.

> Check the compass and attempt to decipher where it indicates at the moment. Then go back to the tavern and check in for a night.
The skill didn't register as having finished training.
This has been a strangely long night. Is sleep even a necessary thing in this game? What happens if the party's sleep times are completely misaligned? Will we have to spend turns waiting for other people to wake up?
i don't want more dead turns :u

Re: Into Unknown Lands - (6/6) - Roll 18
Fixed it kebbit.
Day/night lasts 20 rolls, and since night started on roll 5, it doesn't turn morning until roll 25.
Sleeping isn't necessary because you're all freaks.
But sleeping may give you dreams and such, so it won't be completely pointless. You just won't sleep for very long.

What happened to my sniping prerequisites?
Follow the one with the plush. Work on my aim along the way (begin training Steady Aim).

Re: Into Unknown Lands - (6/6) - Roll 18
This is why you should not roll when half asleep.
- Steady Aim (Buff Physical) (+X AIM) (-X SP) - Increase your AIM by the amount of SP spent. (Prerequisites for Steady Aim : None)

Re: Into Unknown Lands - (6/6) - Roll 18
And what happened to the starting of my ability training? I'd like to get some abilities. Also, is it possible to increase stats at a good rate in a way that isn't attacking?
I've got little agility and little aim, so attacking is pretty much out of the question since I'll always attack when the target is dead.
