> Chaotic Animate a chunk of (preferably soft) ground to zoom under PhD in midair and catch him. Have it more or less match his speed before catching him so he doesn't smash into it and die.
Also be prepared to heal him after his landing.

"That's it! No more mister nice Anderson!"
Create a sphere of ultrahigh density dirt under the ground, somewhere near the worm. As dense as possible.

Let the worm come to me. If I sense it coming anywhere near me, change my arms into extra-pointy pikes and stab at it from above the ground.

Make the plants make a fall cushion while still running towards to catch him.

My laziness has gotten the best of me for the past week. Rollin'.

Torrent (Gillian) (11)

You animate a nearby chunk of earth.
It rises slowly out of the ground before breaking up into a bunch of soil particles and falling back down in a pile - you can't properly animate every single soil particle. You try again, but all you can do is put the dirt pile underneath the spot where it looks like John is going to fall. Well, it'll have to do, then.

Ociamarru (Nikolai) (7)

You sit still, daring the worm to come your way.
... and it does! You can feel it changing directions underground, so quickly, in fact, that you hardly have time to react. Just before it comes up right beneath you, you morph your arms into spikes and brace for impact.

What an impact it is.

Thank the heavens your arms are practically indestructible, because the force of the worm plowing right into you is enough to send aching tremors through your entire frame. Both of your spike arms are lodged firmly into some part of the inside of the worm's mouth, keeping you from descending into the bottomless pit of its stomach. You'd better get out of this before you go underground again.

Suddenly you feel a shudder go through the worm's body, and the sound of a voice calling from what sounds like far away. You think it said,

"Oy!"

caekdaemon (Anderson) (5) (Even though it's not my fault, I apologize for these incredibly crappy rolls you've been getting.)

"That's it! No more mister nice Anderson!"
You condense a large orb of soil underground where you think the worm is going to be. You focus on making it as huge and impenetrable as possible, and...
The worm erupts from the ground a good 30 meters away.

Rage +1!

CaveCricket (Raphael) (4)

You urge a transformation, and are capable of making it happen, but the pain clouds your head and makes the process slow. All you can do is wait as your wing stitches itself back together. There's not enough time to catch Adams after it's done.

Tokochiro (Johni) (6)

(See events)

Phd (John Adams) (4)

(See events)

NPCs

Gabriel (4)

Gabriel's sword extends into the ground, seeking out the worm, but its reach is not nearly long enough.

Terry (10)

Terry is still in there. But for those who are nearby, a faint "Oy!" can be heard from the depths of the worm.

Events:

John (Phd), blasting downward at great speed, remarks, "Gravity sucks," points the gun at the ground, and fires. The resulting blast jams the back of the gun painfully into his gut and he loses his grip on it. It has slowed his fall somewhat, but the gunshot-energy-blast-thingy is also heading straight down, to the spot where Johni (Tokochiro) is sprinting to in order to make the catch.

In some sort of mad craze, and in the middle of his sprint, Johni leaps into the air, and the gunshot hits the ground directly underneath him.
And explodes.

The blast propels him high into the air, and right into John. He barely makes the catch, and the collision bruises his arms horribly, but he makes it.
They're both in midair now, falling somewhat slower, but still falling.

And they fall...
Into a soft pile of dirt, handily placed beforehand by Gillian (TorrentHKU). The two crawl out, spitting globs of dust and soil, but they're both alive.
Then the odd gun that John was holding falls smack onto his head. He wobbles a bit, and topples to the ground like a drunkard.

Well, better to be half-conscious than to be a puddle.

"Oh. You've got to be ♥♥♥♥ kidding me. Not again. No more."
Rage boost time. Continue making that gravitational ball. Denser. Go to singularity levels if you have to.

"AHN MOY WEY!"
Drop down, retracting my arm-spikes into regular claw-things, dropping down after Terry through the beast's gullet. Slow my descent by stabbing it in the sides of the alimentary canal.

Post Re: Roll to Dodge - Illusia - (Roll #111) PLOT.
The Roll has arrived. Freakin' finally... God, I'm lazy. I should be doing this on a Saturday instead of screwing around in Soul Calibur. ANYWAY.

Torrent (Gillian) (2)

"Good. Now that that's fixed..."
You animate a single, large rock, which is not hard to find, and it float to your hand, where you imbue it with energy. It's fired with all the precision that a bird can manage in a hurricane.
In other words, you miss completely.

Raphael puts a hand near you and concentrates for a bit, but nothing happens besides your back feeling a little tingly. You begin to wonder what the heck he did, but then you're distracted by some rumbling in the ground. [See Events]

Ociamarru (Nikolai) (7)

"AHN MOY WEY!"
Your arms morph into their usual claw form, and you plunge them into the slimy walls of the worm's insides, which slows your descent considerably.
After a few seconds of this, you spy Terry hurtling towards you, running up the almost-vertical slope somehow. Then the worm changes direction to head back down into the earth, and nearly lose your hold on the wall, finding it difficult to adjust to the change in movement.

You watch as Terry begins to float upward along with you. He grabs your arm as he reaches you and pushes off of the wall with great force, sending both of you flying towards the other side, and flying out of a hole that Terry busts in the worm's side with his enormous weight and momentum. Handily enough, he's still holding on to you, and he lands without a hitch, depositing you safely on the ground.

"Well, that thing's dead."
"Eh?" you say in disbelief.
"Look," Terry says, pointing.

Then you watch the fireworks. [See Events]

caekdaemon (Anderson) (7 + 3 = 10)

[7 Rage divided by 2 rounded down = a boost of 3, which is perfect...]

"Oh. You've got to be ♥♥♥♥ kidding me. Not again. No more."

You feel angry enough to explode. But explosions are overrated.
So you go for an implosion. And it's beautiful. [See Events]

CaveCricket (Raphael) (1)

You try to use your power on Gillian, but it doesn't do anything. You watch as he tries to shoot a rock at the worm with little success. Well, neither of you are succeeding.

Suddenly, loud noises. [See Events]

Tokochiro (Johni) (4)

You sit still, allowing yourself to regenerate, and watch as the worm heads back into the ground... then some serious ♥♥♥♥ happens. [See Events]

Phd (John Adams) (2 - 4 = 1)

You sit still and wait for the lights in your vision to fade. After a while, they do, though you now have a numbing headache and a nasty bump to remember your latest adventure by.

The ground starts to shake, and your headache intensifies for a bit. You wish everyone would be quiet and let you rest. [See Events]

NPCs

Gabriel (-)

Gabriel watches.

Terry (-)

Terry grabs Nikolai and hightails it out of the worm's belly. Just in time, too.

Events:

The worm heads back into the earth, and as it does, an dull thump is heard.
Followed by the singular, biggest quake anyone has ever experienced.

Huge fissures appear in the earth, and everyone scrambles to get away from the epicenter as the ground begins to cave in, everything falling into a void somewhere beneath your feet.
A huge dust cloud rises into the air, and then suddenly,
*Whoosh*
The sound, resembling a gust of wind, silences everything else. And when the dust settles, a gigantic crater can be seen where the worm was about to enter the ground. It's as if some colossal beast ripped a chunk out of the earth, like a hungry man would rip meat off of a bone. No-one speaks, no bird chirps, no wind blows. There occurs only the long silence filled only with thoughts of fear, awe, and wonder - a silence that follows an event that people struggle to explain.

Anderson speaks above the silence:
"That felt good."

~

After everyone gathers up again, Gabriel does roll-call (ha), and is relieved to see that everyone is fine.
"Well, I guess I should explain what that thing was, huh?"
"You know?"
"Well, I don't know what it is, but I certainly know where it came from - Lathos."
"The northern capital? Why would monsters come from there?"
"They're being sent by the King. I had heard rumors that he's gone mad, but I never suspected they were true until I questioned that guard we ran into. The Jester has something to do with this, I'm sure..."
"So we're headed to Lathos to seek an audience with the king?"
"I guess. Although I doubt that we'll just be let in... I have no idea what state Lathos is in right now. If we just sauntered in, we might end up being faced down by an entire army."
"You think it's that bad?"

"..."
