Post Re: RTD: Serious Theology
I will hopefully be able to do something tomorrow; I'm gotten a jump on most of my work for the week.

This sounds rather interesting. I'd love to participate but it seems I'm too late, oh well, I'll just read it.(And put myself on the apparently always available waiting list just like the person above me.)

Arright. I'll put you guys on the list.

Anyway, this stroy is turning out just great. Can somebody please just kill somebody else and get executed for their crime? Just kidding, I'm enjoying myself enough by just reading this.

Agents of the Pact are above any sort of mortal law. And none can really comprehend what divine law is either...

Wait, so I could really just tear it up around town with no (legal) retribution? Hmmm, I'll keep that in mind.

Of course, people might try to kill you in self-defense.

If that's what everyone thinks, the entire world will be one giant war.

... Perfect.

Post Re: RTD: Serious Theology
exept that since we are members of the pact and personally supported by the gods as long as it wasn't displeasing to them that we do so we probably could massacre an entire village easily, I personally would want to be nicer and more "honorable" than that, my point being that even if there are mortals and immortals that are much stronger than us the average joe probably isn't and wouldn't even try to do something like that if they didn't have numbers, but then again we are trying to stop the coming war/the infinite corruptor

EDIT: jahn is one of the people that are much much stronger than us evident by the hint about the cursed sword that has killed thousands of people

You could probably destroy a village or small town, true. But Jahn's Freehold, on the other hand...

There have been a few gods that have literally been wiped out in the mortal world there. When the Freehold mob comes knocking, you run.

EDIT: Oh, and I'm rolling.

Pretty bizarre results, all things considered.

~~~~~~~~~
Nighthawk, 2. >> As long as I'm not being attacked, flip open the book. Look for some kind of spell that creates a wide blast over a large area.
You hastily rifle the pages of "Most Holy is His Wrath", nervously glancing at the thing striding towards the rest of your group. At last you come to a splashed rune marked "Impetus" and activate it; absorbing the spell fully would disorient you and that's the thing you need least right now.
The rune glows and you realize you haven't directed the spell. There is a heavy distortion in the air around you, getting thicker by the second, until something snaps and sends you flying fifteen feet to the side. You hit the grey rock and get the wind knocked out of you.
Name: Reynard Heinson
Equipment: Arcane Bulwark, Rune-Knife, "Most Holy is His Wrath".
Inventory (0/10):
Passive Abilities:
Active Abilities:
Conditions:
Bruised and Battered: -1 to physical activity rolls for two turns.
Static Blade: rest of battle.
Izen, 6. >Fire off rest of ammo, run as far away from danger as possible before reloading
The creature lurches straight toward you on its stick-thin appendages. You roar defiance and open fire.
You empty your ammunition drum into its torso and messily perforate the black flesh. But it just keeps coming, and soon you are face to face with its hypnotic stare. You can't run, but you can still fight.
It's concentrating on sealing up its chest when you lash out at one of its stiltlike legs with a steel boot, catching it by surprise. Then, when it's down, you stamp.
The monster lets out a horrible screech of pain, and its severed limb begins disintegrating into a liquid. You quickly realize what's happening and toss what's left of the leg away.
You've hurt the thing. You've hurt it bad.
Name: Agrath
Equipment: Mark 5 Steelwarden Suit (IR+Targeting), Popper LMG (0/80 Double), "Strength Through the Iron".
Inventory (0/10):
Passive Abilities:
Hammer-Novice: maintain gear, forge basic stuff + ammo.
Cog-Devout: temporary gear blessings.
Active Abilities:
Iron Blight: weakens enemy equipment.
Conditions:
caekdaemon, 5. Find the nearest enemy, and thrust Reaver into its chest.
Seeing Agrath contending with the abomination, you sprint to help him, breathing hard in your Armor of Woe.
He's got it, and it's screaming.
You gesture an arcane sigil with your left hand, and impale the beast with a crackling Reaver. It pins the thing through what you might call its chest, and burns at it with an impressive glow. The flesh starts melting and what's left of the creature goes limp.
It's obviously been eating things before you. As you sift through the puddle of its remains, you find a scrap of paper with what appears to be a Machinae activation ritual.
Name: Bob Of the House Of Jones
Equipment: Reaver, Armor of Woe, "INCANTATIONS FOR THE WISE".
Inventory (1/10): Activation Ritual
Passive Abilities:
Divine Favor: positive effects upon prayer.
Active Abilities:
Conditions:
Arcane Might: 2 turns.
Sanctified Reaver: 2 turns.
Alien Perception: 2 turns.
Asklar, 6. >Check for fuel in the Spymaster's Vestment for the Promethean Dagger.
You sift through the pockets of your Spymaster's Vestment and find an alarming array of tools. Some barbed steel caltrops, some bottles of paralyzing poison, some vials of inflammable alchemical fuel...
You're pretty sure it was the fuel you were after, so you take a vial and jack it into the knife mechanism's internal nozzle.
Just is case, though, you keep the caltrops and poison, and very carefully transfer them to your pockets. Hope you don't sit down in a hurry.
Name: Charles Cross
Equipment: Promethean Dagger (4/4), Spymaster's Vestment, "Glory to the Perfect Human".
Inventory (3/10): Promethean Fang Blueprints, Bunch of Caltrops, Paralysis Poison
Passive Abilities:
Active Abilities:
Conditions:
Ociamarru, 1. Manipulate my Warpknife so that there are blades protruding throughout the main blade at erratic angles, then charge at and slice that mo'fo'.
You twist the knife just so and several blades warp into reality.
They're not exactly where they should be, so you slowly put down the dagger without trying to grip the handle too hard, because sliced up fingers are quite the liability. But luckily for you, Agrath and Bob have already dispatched whatever it was that was attacking the group.
Name: Damien Grimmhilde
Equipment: Warpknife (Four), Symbiotic Armor, "BEYOND THE MIND".
Inventory (0/10):
Passive Abilities:
Stranger: demoralizes, less human.
Active Abilities:
Nightmare: coma, damage.
Conditions:
Warped Knife: Lasts until you reverse the effect.
nicolasx, 1. slash at the monster again
You slice outwards with the Entropic Katanas and Flash to the monster. Then you realize why you should never use a warping weapon while traversing the myriad planes of reality.
By the time you pop up by the group again, your clothes are filled with silver sand and you are incredibly drowsy.
Luckily, the monster isn't alive to eviscerate you while you're having a snooze.
Name: David Roffellon
Equipment: Entropic Katanas, Planewalker's Robe, "OUTSIDE".
Inventory (0/10):
Passive Abilities:
Active Abilities:
Flash: short teleport. Can be used passively or actively.
Spatial Withdrawal: teleport to silver sands. Risky.
Conditions:
Weary: -1 to physical activity rolls until you take a rest.
Rip the sword vertically through its chest, then be ready for another attack.
Is the paper automatically in my inventory?
