EVENTS:

Rosa turns her rifle onto herself, severing one of her legs, since her feet are part of her pilebunkers. Eigla notices this, and runs back to prop her up.

Rosa: "Run."

She hands Eigla her guns and leg, then slips her ring onto her Shield's finger.

Eigla: "I've held onto it, like we promised. I want you to have, it, now. I waited for so long..."

Emilia shakes her head at Klimt.

Emilia: "I, I can tell the hordes what to do. No horde here! No one to listen!"

Eigla attempts to grab Rosa and pull her away, but the gunner places her remaining foot onto her torso and activates her pile bunker. Eigla is flung backwards several feet, landing by Klimt.

Rosa: "KLIMT! TAKE HER! RUN!

LIVE!"

She turns back to face the raging meat cube, sniper at the ready.

Rosa: "GOTT BEFIEHLT!"

EVENTS:

Eigla and Klimt take all they can and run away. Rosa tries to shoot at the meat cube, but her eyes are fogged up with tears.


The creature approaches slowly, knowing its prey is incapable of fleeing.

ROSA. HATE. HATE. WHY DID YOU DO THIS? I WAS HAPPY. ROSA. YOU MONSTER. WHY DO YOU CRY? I AM THE ONE YOU RUINED. I SHOULD BE CRYING. I WISH I COULD CRY.

EVENTS:

YOU... DON'T?

IT HURTS, ROSA. IT HURTS SO MUCH. I CAN'T FORGIVE IT. I AM SORRY.

The creature's maw opens, a thousand Eiglas staring at Rosa from the inside.

She opens her arms to embrace them.



Eigla and Klimt continue running, eventually reaching the edge of the forest.

Just as Peggy had said, there is a huge, deep ravine across the landscape, a small, dirty creek flowing hundreds of meters below. On the other side, an impossibly tall metal and concrete wall, dotted with sentry towers and topped by rusted barbed wire.

There is a bridge here, a rickety jumble of old metal plates and prefabricated scaffolding. Just enough for a vehicle to get through, but no more. On the other side, a collapsed gate through the wall.


Thunderous footsteps echo from the forest. Something is approaching.

EVENTS:

The party rushes across the bridge, trying to leave before whatever is making that sound finds them. They've made it three quarters of the way when-

EIGLA. STOP. THE LEG, GIVE ME THE LEG! NOTHING CAN REMAIN!

It is Rosa. 30-foot tall, dark red and purple Rosa. She leaps out of the woods, landing on the bridge. The structure creaks under the massive weight.

EIGLA. PLEASE. JUST LET IT GO. YOU DESERVE BETTER. YOU DESERVE TO LIVE WITHOUT ME.
