EVENTS:

The meatsphere continues to shrink, emitting large amounts of water vapour. The stubby begginings of arms and legs begin to poke through its dark red outer layer. If you're going to escape, better do it fast!


Peggy shivers and tugs at Klimt's clothes.

Peggy: "W-we should just go! Run away as fast as possible, beyond the end of the road, past the bridge and the canyon! J-just get as far from here as possible! Oh god, we're all gonna get eaten... I'm too young and pretty to die again!"

EVENTS:

The party quickly turns tail and begins to race up the road, Klimt carrying a waifu on each shoulder. The meatsphere finishes forming a dozen long, muscular arms and pulls itself after them, moving surprisingly fast for a behemoth of its size.

HATE. HATE ROSA. HATE. REVENGE. SUFFER. KILL.

Peggy: "Yes, there's, uh, there's this big canyon after the forest, and a metal bridge over it! I-I dunno what's on the other side, but maybe that thing can't cross? O-oh, no, it's still coming! Faster, run faster!"

Eigla: "If you think she's fake, why don't you just go find the real one instead, you retard! No point bothering us!"

Eigla cuts off one of her arms and chucks it at the creature. It stops for a few moments after absorbing it, as if dazed, but quickly resumes its chase.

LOST. NEVER AGAIN. IT HURTS, IT HURTS! WHY DO THIS TO ME, ROSA? WHAT DID I EVER DO TO YOU? MONSTER, MONSTER! DIE!

You all pass by Red on the road, followed shortly by the meatsphere. She yells at you from a distance.

Red: "YOU IDIOTS MADE IT ANGRIER? WAY TO GO, NUMBSKULLS! SEE YOU LATER, PFFFHAHAHA!"


It is good that you're undead and in pretty good shape, for most normal humans would not be able to maintain such a grueling pace for long. After a good half hour of vigorous running, you reach the point where the road meets the forest.
The path is covered with fallen leaves and thick branches, so it takes effort to keep up. The meatsphere trips and falls several times, leaving huge chunks of bone and flesh behind, but continues to charge after you like an enraged hippo.

EVENTS:

The party continues to run, though Rosa begins to fall behind! At this rate, the meatcube will catch up to her!

Speaking of the creature, it seems to have discarded its extra legs and is now leaping forwards on all fours, a huge, gaping maw forming on its front end.

Eigla takes aim and lobs one of her adzes at the monster, the sharp stone tool embedding itself in one of its eyes. It lets out a shriek and moves a slight bit slower, enough to give Rosa some breathing room.

Eigla: "Gott Befiehlt!"

Rosa is too breathless to answer, but nods in return. She will remember the encouragement.

You all hear a howl in the distance.

EVENTS:

While the others continue to run, Eigla turns to face the meatcube, then points the stump of her arm at it.

SPLOOSH

A gigantic amount of Crawling Flesh, much larger than Eigla's apparent body mass, sprays out of the wound in a living torrent of goo. It covers the meatcube's face, clogging its airways and solidifying on its eyeballs.
The creature falls to the floor, trying frantically to claw the animated corruption away from its head, but fails.

Eigla detaches from the crawling mass and continues to run, leaving a part of herself to hinder the monster. As she looks back, she realises the meatcube has severed its own head, and is now growing another. It'll take some time for it to start running again!

The howling sounds closer now.
