A: How does your character know all of these various animals?
B: Pistol shrimps don't have "atomic cannons", they snap their snapping claw and create a cavitation bubble to kill fish with high pressure. So if you're not underwater, it's not gonna help you at all. It won't even make the loud noise, because that's ALSO caused by cavitation.

EDIT: That was from memory of a report I did on pistol shrimps like five years ago, here's Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alpheidae#Snapping_effect

EDIT DOS: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mantis_shrimp
There, your ridiculously well-versed in everything alive character can use that. It's probably more devastating than the pistol shrimp's snapping anyway, plus you could hit ♥♥♥♥ while out of water.

They can still snap hella hard.
Although at human sizes the claw very well might explode from the forces involved.

"Atomic guns" was a joke. And very well then, I'll go with something like a mantis shrimp's boxing claw then, which I will say I added through the use of imagination of "A powerful, fast-hitting appendage".

A: Characters start with epic animal knowledge, I s'pose. I'm not going to limit Cave's ability to transform to his character's knowledge. That would be a bit mean.
B: Read about them in a book a few years back. You're right - it's only vibrations. If pistol shrimp could use atomic cannons, I would've gotten myself one for a pet a long time ago.

Why not turn into a giant spider?

You could get in through the hole in Foraqe's shell and start liquefying organs in a small area.

Post Re: Roll to Dodge - Illusia (Roll #92)
It's been a while. I've just finished revamping my plan for maps for the fourth time. It turns out that Isometric mapping is not going to work with the program I'm using. Which sucks, but I'm just going to have to deal. There WILL be maps in my next RtD, doesn't matter if I have to go to HELL and back to make it happen.

Anyway, rolling.

Torrent (Gillian) (9 - 5 = 4)

You get up and weakly walk away from Foraqe. You're glad that he isn't attacking any more, because you're pretty damn sure that you couldn't fight back in this state.

Ociamarru (Nikolai) (3)

You keep on hacking through the soft flesh, but it's getting more difficult, and you feel like you're not making any progress. You're also forced to continually back up, since Foraqe seems to be coming back into the shell.

Oh.

You realize that there won't be any space in here soon.

caekdaemon (Anderson) (12)

"Let men cry out for their wives and children weep the loss of their beloved fathers and brothers. This sword shall be my instrument, and I shall call you - The Widowmaker. You will feast in battle, my metallic friend."
You make such an awe-inspiring speech that most forms of life within a mile are repelled away by its awesomeness. Unfortunately, that also means that as you walk outside, there's not a single thing that needs killing.

Even that humongous Nautilus way over there on the beach is retreating!

CaveCricket (Raphael) (5 - 1 = 4)

You land awkwardly on Foraqe's shell and try to switch back to your previous form.
You manage to become humanoid again, but you can't get any further, nor remove the spike. Also, there are a few feathers sticking out of your armpits. They tickle in an annoying fashion.

Tokochiro (Johni) (7 - 4 = 3)

You shakily get to your feet, then fall back down again. Your legs feel like jelly.

Phd (John Adams) (9)

You find a building that collapsed on its side. The rock that it was made of seems to be mostly whole. Looks pretty thick, too. If you could lift this thing, you could probably do some damage.

NPCs

Gabriel

Gabriel dashes back to the front lines, but stops in front of the Nautilus' shell.
"I'm not so sure I wanna go in there."

Terry

"I'll be damned if I let this bastard get away now."
Terry leaps into Foraqe's shell, chasing it into its own home. Pounding sounds can be heard echoing from within a few seconds later.

Locations
-caekdaemon in front of the forge.
-Tokochiro and Torrent are at a distance from Foraqe.
-Phd and Gabriel are near Foraqe.
-CaveCricket is on Foraqe.
-Ociamarru and Terry are !!INSIDE!! Foraqe.

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Events:

The Nautilus continues to retreat within itself. It also begins to shift backwards somehow, getting further into the waters of the sea.

"Gods damn it. I finally finish crafting my gear, and there is nothing left to fight." Sigh

"Might aswell burn down the forge. That'll cheer me up."
Torch the forge.

Try to lift the building and throw it at the Nautilus.

The voice echoes from within the shell of the Nautilus, accompanied by pounding noises.
"The *WHUMPH* plan *WHUMPH* is to *WHUMPH* pound *WHUMPH* this thing *WHUMPH* into dust!"

Torch the forge.

Why would you do that? You're essentially burning a building just to see it burn. The people who live there USE that building!
But I suppose...
