Our Guys {Update v1.2 12/22/2008}
Here is my first derivative mod! Our Guys - actors and devices. Just some guys who got together and decided to go to planet (whatever planet CC is on) with surplus military gear bought from Tradestar. Oh, and some more guys whose empire is - cripes, I'll do story later. I really don't do fiction well. 12/8/2008 - First release 12/14/2008 - Added an actor and some explosives. Bunch of tweaks. 12/22/2008 - Added actors, a weapon, and some handy tools. Bunch of tweaks. Actors: Devices: CREDITS: Findude - Missile code reference Darlos9D - Knife code reference Shook - Craft Gun of Rawrelz code reference Prometheus - Radish Bitmaps (from vanilla content) drpetter - for sfxr Ian Hogg - Ammunition information Data Realms - Reference, inspiration, and of course opportunity Fat Zombies - Knife testing

So with the name our guys you mean humans from earth?
If so you should change the name something like Earth Federation or sumthing.
But the crappy name doesn't affect on sprites tought. They are awesome!

Bravo sir. Top notch spriting. These have a very nice style that kinda fits with CC style. good job. I also quite like the weapons in this thing. Nice descriptions and cretive names, too. The jetpacks are nice, but I think you should remove the black particles and straighten the muzzle flash's sprite.
I like how every actor is completely different from the others, at least sprite wise. The guys don't look too different from each other. If I were you, I'd make the recon soldier's jetpack less effective and remove the soldier's. Let him jump and it'll do. Also, add some more armor to the spec ops guy and weight to the main soldier.
As for the weapons, they're really nice, the bazooka especially. God that has to be the most well-executed one I've seen to this day. I also like the knife. I think you should add a sniper rifle and an RPG. The grenade is cool also. I'd like to see a shield for these guys, and a pistol/shotgun too.

I like "Our Guys" actually. It's like "our boys" in referenced to our military, but... they ain't boys. Edit: Alright, I made my previous comment just based off of the preview pics. I didn't realize they actually had names and described personalities. Also, these are some epic sprites, I must say. Between this and Crobotech, I wish that weapons were generally beefier in CC, since it allows one to get in a lot more detail. Oh yeah, my only complaint is that the firing sounds are weird.

Just been playing with these guys, I REALLY like the way the rocket launcher works! I just don't like the firing sounds and if you ask me, the SMG should have a higher rate of fire. I'd like to see some more characters too, maybe with some generic grey-uniformed enemies for us to mow down, and an activities? But yeah, this mod is simply awesome.

Honestly, you should get into scene scripting and go all Metal Slug on this. I'd love to play as these guys through levels with hoards of enemies and perhaps some kind of plot.
Though I understand if you don't want to go that route.

Sprites are pretty decent, only gripe is there's not enough contrast between parts, and they don't really blend in with CC

Now that i've tested this, its good, sprites are beautiful.. the rocketlaucher reload could be longer, you know, and the carbine firing sound is like from another planet, otherwise well done.
