Re: Scrap Series
EXACTLY! These guys are slightly inspired from soviet russia.
also, AHuman's are nice as I know them, so guess what occular bleeding, I'll change my idea for you. AHuman it is, and I was already planning something like that, so convenient.
IN PROGRESS: Attachables. They are sexy. and I've re-sprited the original scrap and added attachables to it, 90% done. air scrap has been re-sprited, I'm planning to add attachables to it ASAP. then i'll get started on the heavy scrap.
The Factions won't know what hit them.

Re: Scrap Series
i like these guys. it's good to see some actors that aren't uber at all. in fact, i think the fragility of the actors in the vanilla content is one of the things that makes this a special game. these go well with 'em. looking forward to the rest of the units in the scrap series. also, an idea... wouldn't it be keen to make a droppable bomb that exploded into a huge shower of metal gibs? you could just layercake them onto the battlefield and turn it into a landfill. i might make one if you don't pick it up

Re: Scrap Series
yeah, second request for something like that. I'll add it to my list of projects.
CURRENT LIST OF PROJECTS: SCRAP - 99% complete, final tweaking SCRAP-A - re-sprite (50%), add attachables (work imminent) As yet un-named monster AHuman with shitloads of attachables and a large cannon - After I've finished above, soon Scrap Factory - This'll be hard, I'll have to borrow the clone farm's code I think. Garbage Freighter - An ADropship that drops metal gibs all over the battlefield. can also be used to transport troops (but hold your nose!)
thanks for the feedback. It's 4 o'clock in the morning local time, I'm suffering from insomnia, and now its time to program me some attachables!
Edit: ... an hour and a half later: Scrap A is basically done. attachables all done. now all I have to do is make sure the pricing is accurate, as they are now slightly stronger, check the code for any weird categories ie coalition parts instead of scrap, and then done. I'm not working on the behemoth this morning, i've been modding non-stop for over an hour, I've had enough, and i need time to think about how it's going to look. you can expect an update soonish.

Re: Scrap Series
The Clone Farm is just an ACrab with gun with a strange fire angle ( to drop it straight down ) to drop MOSParticles that gib out Actors for a certain team!

Re: Scrap Series
Yeah, I'll check out the code Foa, thanks. I know that it uses ADropships to spawn the AHumans themselves.
After testing with my little brother (who got pissed off with me when i pulled out the RoCorp multi-homing missile launcher and stormed off XD) The latest version of the scraps are ready for release, so watch the first post!!

Re: SCRAP Series - Update 21st March
idea for story!
'' The planet (your choice here). A once thriving ecosystem and an abundance of materials, the planet is now nothing but ruin. This world is yet another victim of the war for resources. The surface of the planet is cracked and cratered, and the ground has been sucked of all useful material. From the ashes, a lone figure emerges, a Robot. Badly damaged, the bot limps over to the remains of one of its many companions, doing its best to repair itself. Afterwards, the robots enters one of the burned out bunkers, pitted with battle scars and bullet holes. There, it finds what it was looking for, the brain that had lost this battle. Badly injured itself, but alive nonetheless, the brain commands the bot to help him with repairs.''
One month later:
The original force of a brain and bot has grown into legions of reconstructed bots, resurrected and repair to the best of their ability. Ships and rockets have also been fixed, but retain only a fraction of their efficiency. Now the Brain and his army once again join in the resource wars, but they also have a more sinister objective....

Re: SCRAP Series - Update 21st March
not bad, I may borrow some elements from it, but i have the beginnings of a plotline anyway.
here's a taster: The Union of Socialist Star Systems Defence force FAQ
'blah blah blah questions about it blah'
Q.If you build SCRAP Robots out of the scrap metal donated by the community, why do all the robots look the same? A. Your scrap metal is melted down, and used to build the robots that way. The Robots are mass-produced, so they all look the same and are of low-cost to your government.
