Massive god damn TF2 update [BE EXCITED DAMNIT!!]
Holy ♥♥♥♥! You can buy items (for real money lol!) 5 classes gets new sets of weaponry, granting bonuses when ya use em all. Trading is implemented (god damn finally!) This will affect my modding in a bad way for sure XD http://tf2.com/BE EXCITED DAMNIT!!

I love the new Spy knife, the Scout pistol, the Pyro flamethrower and the Soldier's rocket launcher - that's it for me, though. The rest of the items from it I'm only hoarding for completion bonuses.

Haven't gotten one of the new items yet, but I did get the Spy's fedora today. I'm interested in the knife, and the fish is pretty great.

I have crafted every new item except the mackerel. Saving extra items as metal was a great idea. EDIT: The eternal reward is a beast of a weapon. I just got a 4 kill chainstab without anyone trying to shoot at me, even as I moved back to my spawn.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry: Quote: Q: Will I have to spend money to remain competitive? A: No. Any items affecting gameplay, and even most purely cosmetic items, will still be obtainable simply by playing the game. Calling hats "obtainable"?

Also, according to an e-mail from robin walker, they're adding easier recipes specifically crafting the hats that actually do something.

Yeah, but you're screwed against engineers, even if you have the set bonus. Good against the other stuff you traditionally soft counter though.

The new RL is OP atm, hopefully they'll change it in some way.

Not really no, the health regen will repay you a single long-range rocket if you hit all of them. That brings a stock-rocket launcher soldier down to 3 rockets as well. Nobody wins.
It's really handy in arena since health is scarce and not many things will take more than three rockets to blow up. Edit: Point is that against a soldier, you are still at most a rocket short damage wise. Against other opponents, who are likely to be more able to dodge, you have one rocket less to try and hit them.
What's really overpowered is the fish.

I mean, the single rocket isn't really anything important, but you won't lose health at all if you hit every rocket and rocket jump now and then. It has only umpsides and isn't really a choice if you should or shouldn't use it :/

Re: Massive god damn TF2 update [BE EXCITED DAMNIT!!]
I think it has downsides. -Only two shots after a rocket jump. -More time reloading, which is the soldier's weakness to begin with -Pyro reflections increase the pyro's health by 15 per enemy hit as opposed to your flat 15 -Full levelled engineer buildings now take a reload to destroy, meaning that you can't unload 4 rockets and have it destroyed before the engineer notices and heads on over to repair This makes it extremely easy to be exploited by a skilled enemy.

Re: Massive god damn TF2 update [BE EXCITED DAMNIT!!]
Got my first bit of new gear: The new Medic stabber. Dropped for me.
Got 2 scrap, looking forward to making Your Eternal Reward. I really only play Scout (who I am fine with vanilla gear. Maybe a new melee weapon would be nice...), Engineer (I might go with the Wrangler) and Spy (Cloak and Dagger ninja). Sometimes play Medic, whose items I think work with him (minimal downsides), and sometimes Sniper (accidently got rid of my Huntsman).

Re: Massive god damn TF2 update [BE EXCITED DAMNIT!!]
Just slightly off topic, but does anyone have a hotrod? I don't have too much to trade for it, but just gimme a call if you wanna trade.
OT: Fish is hilarious, Scout pistol awesome, don't see the point in the flamethrower, rocket launcher is a nice addition, knife owns, new sniper is annoying to be shot with and haven't really seen all the others yet.
