Hey guys, for those who have played on whitty's server, this is Alkemyst.
I made a new server and it's running at the moment. However, as i'm on a university campus, you need to download and connect via hamachi.

PM me, Duh102, or CrazyMLC if you're interested in joining. We'll give network, password, and IP.

Right now there is a 5 player limit, just to test the performance. If things go well, I'll push the max to 10.

[EDIT] Just some basic server information. This server is run on my computer, but I'm not going to be running it all the time. I think that I can have the server running between 2 PM and 12 PM, but I may change this on usage and/or my own IRL schedule. If I change the schedule it will be posted here.

The server uses the wrapper found here: http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic ... 12&t=23127.
This will give you all the commands you need to know.

When you go on for the first time, you'll be "untrusted". Among other things you won't be able to use the #summon command. Hopefully an Admin will be on, so ask him to #trust you.

Can you just make/send me a quick and dirty guide to get this working, because I have no idea what this Hamachi is.

1. Download hamachi, install
2. When you get it open, join the group "Alk_Minecraft" with the password you'll get if you pm one of us.
3. Copy down the ip that Alkemyst's entry in hamachi says, and use that in minecraft.

I take it being on a University Campus means you don't have access to the router to forward the ports.

Also, Hamachi is pretty much a way to simulate a Local network, but over the Internet.

Hey guys, I just wanted to let you know, the server's going to be down while Notch is having server issues.

I'm right now going to see about getting more ram for my laptop. If you've been on, I'm sure you noticed some issues regarding speed. Frankly, it's difficult for me to run the server and the client on the same computer at the moment, or the server and almost anything else for that matter. This should at least take care of that issue.

If I don't get the RAM before Notch fixes up the server system, I may use my laptop as the server, though I've been advised against using laptops for such things, as laptops don't cool well. But frankly, if that were the case I'd be out of alternatives. As it stands, a lot of my video games are very RAM intensive, and I don't really want to have to choose between running the server and doing other things.

Right now I only have 2.00 GB of RAM, but I'm going to try to double it to 4.00 GB.

Just dropping in to say that I gave Alk the Runecraft mod, and we're currently in the middle of renovating it into magicalness.
