Holy hell, it isn't actually just a Wii clone. It's better.It's actually precise, and frankly looks pretty damn sexy. Discuss.

So it has better tech than the Wii. That means two things: Higher price, and less reliability.
And it's still going to result in tons of shovelware wagglan bull♥♥♥♥.

What makes you think it will be less reliable, grif? The PS3 is obviously higher tech than the Xbox360, AND it's indisputably more reliable.
Waggly games can be fun, I'm certainly looking forward to cutesy minigames/party games. As well as LBP.

All I'm saying is that I'd rather drop a Wiimote 10 feet or so than I would a Move controller, because one of them is more complex and as such more delicate.

I won't argue on Nintendo's durability, but I think it doesn't matter too much when you think about how much less shitty this is than a Wiimote.

I remain unconvinced at the coolness factor of gesture based systems. Only when they become less of a focus and recede to the background like buttons did will I respect them.

What, exactly, is so shitty about a Wiimote? It's a device that you point at a screen, and it shows on the screen where you're pointing. It does exactly what it says on the tin, and it does it well enough that the accuracy difference between a Wiimote and a Move controller won't be noticed by the average person on the average TV. Saying otherwise is either buying into marketing shill or pointless devotion to a brand name.

I'm basing it only on what I've seen on the video I posted and my own usage of the Wiimote. The wiimote was notoriously horrible whenever it wasn't pointed at the screen, while it looks like the Move can go any direction it wants. Also, the wiimote wasn't 1:1 accurate or comparable until the Motion Plus came out, while the Move apparently gets 1:1 out of the box without any little rumble packs or whatever.

I will admit that I have an extensive amount of experience with the Wii and Wii plus, and Wii Sports Resort swordplay thingy works out fairly well, as does Mario Kart. SO the Wii remote isn't entirely useless.
BUT, the Wii has never really used the remote the way we've been expecting and hoping for. We were all expecting the Wii to actually let us swing the remote around freestyle like we were holding a sword. And while they did give this to us in the shallow contexts of Sports Resort Swordplay and Sports Boxing, we never had it in the deeper, fuller games like No More Heroes and Twilight Princess.
But Playstation, with it's larger demographic of "real" gamers, will deliver. That's what Playstation does.

DISCLAIMER: I own both a Wii and a PS3. I am not particularly attached to either Sony or Nintendo. This is just what I'm seeing from an objective point of view. To play your average Wii game, you need a Wii remote and a Nunchuk. According to Amazon, the remote is $40 and the Nunchuk is $20, and if you throw in a MotionPlus, it's another $20. That's $80 for the controllers. For the PS3, you can get away with just one controller, but almost every tech demo I've seen has shown either two Move controllers or a navigation controller. So, I'm going to assume that to play your average game, you need two Move controllers and a navigation controller, because otherwise you're leaving some things out. A Move controller costs $50, and the navigation controller is $30 ( http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2365120,00.asp). As well, you need to throw in the PlayStation Eye for it to work. That adds another $33 dollars to the price according to Amazon. In total, a controller set is going to cost you $163. That's double the price of the set of Wii controllers that you'd need. And honestly? How many interesting games can you actually make before the "using your hands precisely" gimmick wears off? I mean, as much as people are going to say "this is so much better than the Wii", it's still the same gimmick. Shovelware will occur, and just as people got tired of waggle, they'll get tired of wrist twisting. But for those who are sceptical of this, let's look at the opening lineup for Move (as shown in this article, I know there are others: http://www.joystiq.com/2010/06/21/visua ... ve-lineup/): EyePet - Look, it's Nintendogs! Just watch the endearing children in the ad for this and try to tell me that Nintendo is the only cheap ladylike to casual and family audiences. The Fight: Lights Out - Look, it's Wii Boxing! Yes, it's more accurate to what you're actually doing. Guarantee it will be fun for just as long as Wii Boxing (a few days). Heavy Rain: Move Edition - I still haven't gotten around to playing Heavy Rain, so I can't honestly comment on this much. I'm going to take a wild guess and say that this will be pretty much exactly the same as the first, but with Move controls (a la Nintendo's "New Play Control!" series). Heroes on the Move - Ratchet and Clank, with characters from other games, and then we throw in that attacks are done with the Move controller. This really looks like it's about one step away from waggle, honestly. Kung-Fu Rider - ...Okay, I honestly can't dis this. This could easily be the best game ever. However, watching the videos, it looks like the controller movement isn't really detecting much more than jabbing and turning the remote. Cookie to whoever can name another system that does the exact same thing. The Shoot - It's a rail shooter that works exactly like the Wii's rail shooters, except you jab at the screen to fire. I can say from experience that's really damn annoying, and if you thought waggle was bad, wait to play this baby. SingStar Dance - If this is anything like any other game where you flail a remote and it detects where your arms are, it will be inaccurate and nearly impossible to play. Even if it isn't, you're still flailing remotes like an idiot. Also, for those naysayers to casual gamers on the Wii, I also suggest you watch the ad for this, and watch one of the ads for Wii Music afterward. Yeah. Sports Champions - Wii Sports Resort. But with Bocce ball! That's a sure reason to pick it up. Start the Party - Another game that looks like it came straight from the Wii. In fact, it even has pretty much the same ad campaign as most Wii games (FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY!) and more or less uses Rayman: Raving Rabbids' art style. Tumble - Oh hey, Boom Blox! Wait, no. Well, okay, it's more precise, so that's definitely a plus - Boom Blox definitely had some control issues. Although honestly, I can't see myself playing a game where the goal is to stack blocks for all that long without getting bored. No, Tetris doesn't count, because that game is 26 years old. Superstars - First, you make a Mii - err, avatar. Then you have a fine selection of game modes. You could play the mode with a bunch of minigames that involve flailing your arms a lot. Or, the mode where you get to put on pretty dresses and walk a catwalk and dance. Or, you can star in a horribly ugly advertisement of your own creation. And, my personal favourite, you can play Cooking Mama, but Mama is a funky fresh rapping black guy. I'm really not sure how those two fit together. ARE YOU DOWN? I'm pretty sure I'm not. tl;dr Sony is selling a more expensive and complicated Wii, using the Wii's marketing strategy and Wii-esque minigames. If you honestly think that the PlayStation Move is going to go above and beyond the Wii in some revolutionary way, go back and read the rest of this post.

Pffft, the Wii was boring, Move will be slightly less boring but still boring, so I don't really care. I never found using motion controls to 'enhance the experience', all they did was frustrate me when they misunderstood what the ♥♥♥♥ I was trying to do.
