Earth and Beyond Emulator
So yea, Earth and Beyond was one of my first and more fondly remembered games back when I was pretty much a kid. Though I've only had a few days of fun before EA killed it. It had this fun that I can't seem to find in any other MMORPG I've played recently, so yea, I decided to pop a look at the Earth and Beyond Emulator. Turns out they're doing a nice job, multiplayer works! And the basic stuff is pretty much set down enough to feel like the original game. You could say its a simplified version of EVE online. Should give you an idea... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P71EXX5K ... re=relatedQuote: I wonder if I'll ever see that... And without further ado <Gotta register to see the downloads section>: http://www.enb-emulator.com/Start out with the character creator! The emulator is hitting stress test 4, which comes out Monday <any NET7, not forum account made now will be wiped>, and be forewarned, the emulator is still in alpha. [EDIT:] My ign name is Dasmak for those who want to find me.

Nope, EA has dropped the main server and this is an emulator of that. They have links on the forum for where to download the client and necessary patches.

Re: Earth and Beyond Emulator
I like it, feels a lot like Freelancer, but I can't tell if I should have a new weapon or not (I believe I was a level 3 or 4). Crafting/building also seems like it will be a bit of a pain, I hope the rewards are commensurable. Ah, speaking of, where do you buy other player's items? Is there a central market or do you have to make deals on a one-on-one basis?

Re: Earth and Beyond Emulator
There is a market channel <chat>, but you'll have to be pretty specific. Crafting equipment yields better then vendor quality weapons. Like for example one of my weapons has a 1 second reload time, after asking someone to craft the weapon for me <for a price>, the 200% quality weapons has a .6 reload time. Having the skill really depends on what build you're going for. The tense part would be successfully mapping the equipment, the annoying part would be getting the components on the shopping list.
