Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
So, I completed the single player and played a bit of multiplayer on my friends steam account a few days ago and I must say that I am more positive about it now that I've played it.
Singleplayer had many great moments but felt incredibly silly the whole way through. Seriously, why are the Russians using experimental AMERICAN SMGs, AMERICAN fully automatic shotguns, AMERICAN anti tank missile launchers, Austrian assault rifles and the TAR jew rifle? The "holy ♥♥♥♥" moments in the single player campaign were really great though. The infamous skippable scene in the game was kickin' rad but the also infamous physics raping cutscene in space was horrible.
Multiplayer has lots of crap that will keep you going with all the unlocks, solid gameplay and prestige ranks. The multiplayer is every bit as silly as the singleplayer part but it works better in a multiplayer enviroment. Unfortunately all the matchmaking, 18 (I think it was 18) player max and no dedicated servers HAS gimped the multiplayer part massively I will still vouch for it. Overall I will probably buy the game when it drops a bit (lot) in price.
What are you guys favorite load outs for multiplayer? The short time I played I mostly went Blinged FAL with the revolver thingy, sticky nades and flash nades, Cold-Blooded and Ninja
(I have horrible sentence structure and probably a lot of grammatical faults. I apologize for those and hope it's not all that bad. There's a reason I don't write posts that are a lot longer than 3 sentences)

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
The scene from the ISS wasn't all that unrealistic
I mean, somehow gimping a russian submarine nuke to do a high-altitude airburst in the span of minutes is unrealistic, but the actual effects aren't all that bad

I don't know about you, but from the looks of it that nuke was at least over 500km away from the space station and I sincerely doubt its blast would have any impact at that range
edit: Also that the fact that you're in space which would mean that the expanding gasses wouldn't propagate the blast wave into anything and that the expanding gases would dissipate fairly quickly

Alright, yeah, in retrospect I can see what you're saying. There would have been little-to-no "impact", just radiation and some amount of infrared.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Singleplayer was great, overall it was way more silly than CoD4 though. Interactive Michael Bay movie I'd say. Multiplayer, for the gameplay it is basically just adding more stuff to the CoD4 model, and more "awesome", like the nuke. Want a good tip for best class of the game? Marathon pro, Lightweight pro, Commando pro, some ♥♥♥♥ SMG, desert eagle / magnum, tactical knife. Get 4 kills, equip care package grenade, but never throw it. Just keep on sprinting at lightspeed with that equipped and knife everyone. This works better on xbox though, since noone there can aim for crap.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Looks pretty good, I didn't mind CoD4 (first single player I've actually enjoyed) Although not sure how intelligent this is (friend told me about it).
25 KILLSTREAK! FIRE NUKE! END GAME!
Wait, who's idea was that?

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
If at any point a player has a 25 kill streak the game is over anyway, regardless of whether or not there's a nuke. But then again, most people would still like to play, regardless of the inevitability of losing.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Played multiplayer on my friends console, we have created two awesome classes:
"The Bastard" Marathon pro, Lightweight and better hip fire perk with a p90 with rapid fire on.
My ♥♥♥♥ god, you charge around so fast, players rarely have time to fire back until they have a knife in their throat. My friend racks up 27 kills to 10 deaths with this frenetic playstyle
"Ninja" Bling, cold blooded and ninja with a W2000 with silencer and a scope of some sort (heartbeat sensor?)
Super silent, almost undetectable from anything. I love being silent, although It's a slowish class.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Uh, no one could mistake a heartbeat sensor for a scope. Maybe you mean the thermal scope?

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
My friend got the tactical nuke once while I was playing with him. It was a thing of glory. Anyway, I play with a bling'd SCAR, ACOG scope and heartbeat sensor, along with sleight of hand pro, stopping power pro, and steady aim pro. I'm only level 32 though.

The SCAR is a bit overpowered though, it's a full auto FAL.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Wait, so the knife is even more gratifying this time around?
I'm in. Honestly, melee combat is the only reason I play FPSes, aside from sniping.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
With the Commando perk your melee distance is basically doubled, couple that with a fast mover SMG and lightweight, and you're a knifespamming ninja.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
UMP with rapid fire or ACOG scope, Stryker with silencer or grip, (Haven't unlocked FMJ yet.).
Either marathon or sleight of hand.
Stopping power.
Steady aim.
Glorious.
