Pen 'n Paper Corner!

Hello there! This is the Pen 'n Paper Corner!

This is for those games that don't really involve computers. No, these games are run entirely by people.

Custom games, able to be changed in an instant by the person running it. This means extremely flexible gameplay - you can do whatever you want, and the results could be any number of events!

The people who run these games are called GMs, or Game Masters.

Different GMs run their games differently. Some GMs do super serious roleplaying games, some do really fast paced silliness. If you want to play, as the GM how.

Games

Dungeons and Dragons

Warhammer

Paranoia

NetHack

Shadowrun

IRC Rooms

Paranoia IRC (Direct)
Paranoia IRC (Mibbit)

NetHack IRC (Direct)
NetHack IRC (Mibbit)

If you wish to run a game, just send me some logs and I'll start posting up here... as long as they are appropriate, of course.
You might also want to post here, since some people might want to play.

I'd be interested in joining, though I'm not very familiar with 4e rules, I play a lot of 3.5 and 3, so that shouldn't be too much of an issue.

Minecraft sounds like the best option so far, indeed, the main issue seems to be that I'm GMT, but hopefully I can deal with time differences.

Oh, don't worry! You don't really need to know the rules, thats why I'm here!
I will give some lessons on how the game works, but you guys wouldn't need to know all of it.
I will also be willing to assist in character creation. :)

THREE MORE PEOPLE NEEDED.

I'd play. But I've never played Dungeons and Dragons before, nor would I have any idea how you would do it in Minecraft.

Apparently it's for when you do the combat or something. I'm new to this too, he's promised it will be doable even for nonplayers.

I'll teach you how to play, no worries. Not that hard of a concept to grasp, and the main reason why its in Minecraft is that we need 'battle mats' to track where enemies are, and where players are. Something new in 4e to make combat a little more tactful. Mainly how we would play in Minecraft is using a dice roller script and talking over Minecraft, or Tinychat.

HOORAY! We have all the players we need! We can handle more but we're at the right amount, mostly.

Yeah, I'll try to keep it humorous, and I'll cut you guys some slack. Playing with lows stats sucks so I'll probably let you guys have a little extra during character creation. Maybe a little extra gold? Hm?
But yes, I'll try to keep it cheery and happy, but there will be serious parts, so you'll have to bear with me.
But for the most part, I don't care what you do as long as we keep on track. Like if you're trying to enter an orc camp you can kick the guards in the nuts and run by, or convince them that you have appointments, whatever.

Tell him you overheard the orc next to him making sweet talk to his orcish barmaid sweetheart.
I think I will enjoy this.

Brilliant.
Now, everyone else can follow his example and brainstorm their characters. Huzzah.
