Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
I'm pretty sure that we all know where each other stands by this point.
MW1 maps are designed for a lot more players than MW2 maps. In MW2, only one of the 20-or-so game times support more than 12 players. Maps will necessarily be quite different under those conditions. It's a lot better for clan games, since you can play full-sized games with just 6 players of your clan. It's also a lot better for stealth and tactics, since enemy movements are harder to predict; in MW1, you could predict where enemies were just by seeing where you teammates aren't. In MW2, somewhere around half the map will have no foot traffic, so movements are harder to predict and flanking maneuvers are much easier to pull off.
Also, I got my first nuke yesterday on highrise. I took my Barrett up to the roof over control point C and sniped A until the enemy spawn stiched to right below me. Then my team pretty much kept them holed up in there while I sniped anyone who tried to sneak out. Got my helicopter and chopper gunner, then let go with the nuke after getting a couple more headshots.
Quite simply, nukes aren't the best killstreak (a predator missile is often much better, since it ramps you up to a harrier/chopper and then gunner/AC-130), and when they do go off, it pretty much just ends the other guy's suffering early. I would say that it's unfair because it's usually the hackers that get it, but it's my practice now to just leave any server with a hacker on either side. Even the 10th-prestige hack bugs me, though at least it doesn't significantly affect gameplay.
One thing I do have a gripe with is the lack of a dedicated server system. Ideally, the matchup system is better; there's less searching around and it gets you playing much faster. The main problem is the hackers and public/private servers. If you find yourself on a game with a hacker, you basically have to leave and join another game, and there's no way from preventing the matchup system from just having you join the exact same server that you just left. there's also no way to stop hackers from playing; reporting them to whomever you're supposed to report to takes a while and won't get rid of them right away, whereas all you had to do before was put a few servers that actively ban hackers on your favorites list and just play on those. But then, aimbotters/wallhackers will always exist, so you're going to get them either way. The matchup system just makes them harder to deal with.

Matchmaking would be good if it would place you on a dedicated server. Peer to peer is not the future no matter what john carmack says

So one of my friends borrowed my copy of MW2, and one of his friends broke it. He gave me money in payment, (only $50, what a ♥♥♥♥) but I can't really do much about it. Anyways, should I buy MW2 again?

How far did you get? How much multiplayer did you do? How much did you like what you were able to play?

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
I say Buy it back. I heard that there was an up coming expansion pack that had new weapons, a mini game similar to Nazi zombies, more multiplayer maps, I think new Spec Ops missions, and other stuff. And before you ask, one of my friends was sent a message from PSN saying he had to send this to all the people on his friends list.

Spec Ops was put in the game as a replacement to WaW's Nazi Zombies so I don't think they would add a gamemode similar back into MW2. Multiplayer maps and Spec Ops are likely though.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
If you completed the campaign, got halfway through spec ops, and got to rank 40+ (add an -ish to the preceding statements), then it's probably not buying. If you only ever did campaign and never did spec ops or multiplayer, I'd say buy it again. If you just didn't play multiplayer, then buy it again if you know that you like this kind of multiplayer. It's most likely worth it to just buy another game you've never played yet, but if you didn't get very far, then just get it again.
I'd love an expansion.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Yeah DLC, this is only from the PSN message my friend sent to me because they told him to. I'll go back and look at that message, maybe retype it here if I have the time.

That just sounds like a chain-mail. I doubt it's real.
