Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Everything Fearful Ferret just says makes me glad I still play MW1.
Thermal Goggles? Nukes? "Knife Class?" I will pass.

Also, thermal sight is kinda hit/miss for me; being able to see through smoke and pick enemy snipers out of a crowded area is really useful (and throwing a smoke grenade in front of you as a precursor for killing an enemy sniper is a nice trump card), but it always seems to lag for me and it's a lot harder to hit moving targets.

Thermal Goggles? Nukes? "Knife Class?" I will pass. You're missing out maboy. Nukes are a one in a billion chance for the few who use up a killstreak enabling them. Thermals don't work that well, at the sign of smoke everyone takes cover or throws a flash bang at you. They are basically ACOG+ scopes w/ sniper breath sway. Knifers are a rare and dying breed. Anyone who is careful, stays outside, has a shotgun, akimbo anything, tactical knife, or commando (any one of these) should be able to deal with them. They balanced out a lot of annoying little things about COD4. Juggernaut, which was never really cheap but annoying, is now only available to crappy players. Martyrdom is the same. Last Stand is available at the same or at really high levels. Grenading/ noob tubing across the map during the first five seconds can't be done. But to each his own. Sniping is definitely easier is MW1, knifing is definitely less prominent. Noob tubers have a shorter life span (they can get additional tubes in MW2). Juggernaut was fun. UAV was more common so stealth classes were more fun. Maps were more open so less searching required.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
I'd like to point out that maps are a lot more visually confusing in MW2 and I had a hard time spotting enemies the first 8 or so rounds I played. This was never an issue in MW1

yeah, sometimes, if I'm not paying enough attention, Ill run past someone I would have noticed in mw1 or waw, since the maps are a bit wonky. I geuss thats the tacticalness about it

What, you don't like nooks and crannys? Places to hide in and shoot people when they run by?

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Well, MW2 is pretty "tactical". I've never seen a silenced shotgun outside of MW2. Hmm... if you somehow put a suppressor on each barrel or on the end... silenced chaingun! I wonder what you would use that for. Edit: Next: Didja know riot shields are way better at absorbing bullets than you thought they were? I love picturing the look on the enemy's face when I survive an entire Harrier or Pave Low barrage just with my riot shield. So. Much. Fun.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
thats why when I think someone is hiding, but cant nail them with a stun or a flash nade, I hold a semtex/grenade while running by. usually does the trick if someone is there, and if not ill just throw it after.
