Re: D&D and such
If we did, we wouldn't have made Andrew leave sessions in frustration so many times.

So it's either MSPAINT (ugh) or wait for the new, fancy, WOTC-made thing... paint it is! EDIT: Well lookie lookie. I found something nice; take a look. http://www.rpgobjects.com/index.php?c=orpg&m=getorpg

Re: D&D and such
We tried that once, couldn't get it to work. I have used OpenRPG twice while playing with IRL friends who were away at college and it does solve many problems posed on IRC such as having a IC and OOC chatroom and of course the more obvious one, visual representation. Takes a little fiddling with to make it work though.

Why did we not use it then?

Well I was having an autistic fit at the time because for some reason I didn't realize we could just use the pre-existing character sheets instead of having to use PCGen. Also next game is in awhile. I am completely redoing the world and stuffing it full of fluff. You will have a map etc etc. Well... more like maps... Also iirc there is a fog of war paintbrush and you just paint over stuff you dont want PCs to see

Alenth Eneil wrote: "I didn't realize we could just use the pre-existing character sheets instead of having to use PCGen." What? Last time we tried D&DRL, we used a program called PCGen to make our character sheets. It apparently lagged horrendously for a few people and complicated for a few others. PCGen is meant to work hand in hand with OpenRPG. To do this though, took a lot of fiddling around with and a long enough to be annoying process. The horrors I faced have led me to directly connect OpenRPG with PCGen. Therefore, when I was planning this thing out, I didn't realize we could have things be so much simpler by using the character sheets we made at that one site there is a link to in #D&D. Make sense?

Re: D&D and such
PCGen generates charsheets, but is buggy as ♥♥♥♥. He had it in his mind that you HAD to use PCGen character sheets to use OpenRPG, but he didn't want to use PCGen, so he didn't use either.

Re: D&D and such
But... you don't need to use anything with Orpg... you just move tokens around and draw on the grid.
