Re: Call Of Duty 7: Black Ops
I do that or in BC2 whenever I'm playing it. Very much a tactically viable weapon if you're sensible with reloading, especially considering how asplodey the terrain is

Re: Call Of Duty 7: Black Ops
Noobtubing is very fun in BC2 indeed, especially with both the explosive an the grenade upgrade :3 One shouldn't whine if someone is overusing the tube, because it actually takes a bit of skill to use, compared to some little less skill based ones (CG, M60, MG3, AN-94).
In my defense, it was already offtopic.

Re: Call Of Duty 7: Black Ops
Speaking of online shooters, love the balance in Metal Gear Online. Noobtube? Yeah, you'll be needing 20000 points (between 10-20 kills depending on how many are headshots etc) so you can get that RPG-7. Heavy machinegun sprayer? Good luck getting 5000 points for an M60, which is really truly a support rifle and not meant for wildly rushing while firing. Riot Shield abuser? MGO's riot shield is made out of metal- have fun trying to sprint with that. Love stabbing people? You'll probably have to sneak up on someone, knock them out, or get them in a chokehold for a knife kill- no cheap Commando here. (Then again, you can knock them out with the knife's taser function, but whatever. [Also, two of the "Special Characters" {which are randomly given to players during matches where Special Characters are enabled} have throwing knives, but they don't instakill if you hit someone in the foot or hand.])
In terms of weapon availability, it's quite fair for pros and noobs to duke it out- it all boils down to skill, since you can't preset your weapon outload before a match to be uber, you have to earn your upper-echelon weapons every time you fight. No whiners screaming about how they wouldn't have been killed if you didn't have akimbo MP5s with Rapid Fire- though naturally, you still get a couple of people complaining about lag.

Sounds fun.

Re: Call Of Duty 7: Black Ops
I trolled a lot in MGO. I thought the game was pretty boring so I'd just go up to my team mates, grab them, choke them till they're unconsciously, lift them up and drop them a couple times so I get their items, then I tea bag them until they get up. Once they're up I grab them again. Rinse and repeat.
One time I made my whole team leave. I'm only kinda proud.

That's why I always have CQC EX on. Best anti-troll device ever created.

Re: Call Of Duty 7: Black Ops
I never liked MGO - shotguns, compared to other weapons, are generally inferior. They have literally no range, as I'll shoot people roughly a car's length away, aiming at CENTER MASS, and they'll take very small amounts of damage. Sure, you could use slugs, but they get rid of the knockdown. Also, the AK is inferior to the M4. Even the creators acknowledged it, because the M4 costs more Drebin Points. So why do they have both in the match?

Re: Call Of Duty 7: Black Ops
Because the AK is cheaper. Economy. Do you get an M4 for 2k DP or an AK102 for 1k? It's like choosing between getting a Rocket Mk. 1 and a Rocket Mk. 2. Also, choice; some people might just like the AK102 more than the M4. EDIT: Actually, they technically both have the same stats, but the M4 is generally better than the AK102 because of superior sights and versatility (eg, the AK102 can only take a GP30 underslung grenade launcher, whereas the M4 can have a dot sight, scope, silencer, fore grip, laser, tactical light, grenade launcher, or shotgun) I also prefer the M4's iron sights over the AK102's, and I'm pretty sure it has a higher rate of fire. (The in-game stats don't show exact ROF, sadly :v) Shotguns rape when you have the Shotgun skills enabled. I've died instantly from some shots at close range because of the increased damage. The M870 Custom blows, certainly, but the Saiga 12 is arguably one of the deadliest weapons in the game due to its rapid fire; it's way better at taking out close groups of enemies than assault rifles are.

I absolutely love how people will immediately call you a bot on most fps's when you kill them with a shotgun. It's immediate satisfaction.

Re: Call Of Duty 7: Black Ops
You have a point, Hyper, and yes, the Saiga 12 is really good, well worth the DP. Unfortunately, the fact that it IS a good weapon, and people are used to shotguns being really weak, means they find it overpowered by comparison. The vast majority of matches I'm on that even HAVE DP enabled, don't allow the Saiga 12.

What.
Oh but yeah, I hate it when people have certain weapons disabled because they feel that those weapons are unfair. Sometimes having limited weapons can be fun, though- have you ever done of those "zombie survival" games? Essentially, the red team are "humans", typically with nothing but handguns and knives (though some variants have Primary Weapons, too; others even have DP enabled) whereas the blue are "zombies", armed only with stun knives. Every time a zombie kills a human, that human switches teams. Keeps going until everybody dies or the round ends. Blue usually only starts with 1 or 2 zombies, depending on who actually wants to be a zombie, so it may seem slow at the beginning, but it picks up speed pretty quick.

Yeah - sorry, I'm pretty scatterbrained at the moment. Anywho, the zombie matches are always fun. I remember one where Blue got to be Vamp, that sped things up a bit.
