Re: Minecraft Infdev succession
I don't know, I think my Java is just permanently screwed somehow. Java doesn't work at all in Chrome, ever, and the offline client doesn't work either. I've tried redownloading, different crap with Chrome. I refuse to go back to IE though.

Re: Minecraft Infdev succession
Mindlessly screaming help at someone over ~5 posts is less than efficient and detracts from discussion. Do all of this, in this order, and then come back: Try using multiple browsers (yes, this does include firefox, though why you'd ever be against firefox is beyond me) to see if it's to do with one or more of your browsers or your java implementation. Try downloading the client .jar version of minecraft and running that, to really test out weather it's your implementation or not. If both of the above fail, try uninstalling whatever java you have, clearing any related config files, and then reinstalling, then do steps 1 and 2 again. If that doesn't work, try using a different java platform (for example, if you're using sun's java platform, try icedtea). If all else fails or you're too lazy/unable technically to do all the above, run your browser and/or java through some form of shell and get us some error logs.
If it did work and now it doesn't i'm thinking it's likely some form of configuration issue.

Re: Minecraft Infdev succession
Okay back. Geti wrote: Try using multiple browsers (yes, this does include firefox, though why you'd ever be against firefox is beyond me) to see if it's to do with one or more of your browsers or your java implementation. It works with IE, but I'd prefer to fix Java on Chrome rather than have to switch to another browser every time I want to use any Java. And I hate Firefox. Dunno why, I just do. Geti wrote: Try downloading the client .jar version of minecraft and running that, to really test out weather it's your implementation or not. Now we get to the infuriating part! When I do this, it crashes and burns. Instantly, an error pops up "Could not create the Java virtual machine." No error code or anything. I'm talking about this by the way. Geti wrote: If both of the above fail, try uninstalling whatever java you have, clearing any related config files, and then reinstalling, then do steps 1 and 2 again. It still didn't work. Geti wrote: If that doesn't work, try using a different java platform (for example, if you're using sun's java platform, try icedtea). I don't really know how to do this, can you explain it more? The icedtea site wasn't what I would call comprehensive.

And then the price will go up! Anyone who's thinking of buying, do so now before the price jumps by 50%.

Re: Minecraft Infdev succession
I finally got it too. Was going to get it at some point, but the prospect of a 50% price hike was enough to make me buy it. Looking forward to Multi Player.

Re: Minecraft Infdev succession
Hey, what a coincidence, I just bought Minecraft as well. It's pretty interesting.
I already have some Lava and some water springs in my base, for later abuse.
I'll probably make a lava moat to keep out mob.
