Don't worry, their server is overloaded anyway so you probably couldn't download it even if you let yourself.

How do you put something into inventory from hands in adventure mode?

http://df.magmawiki.com/index.php/Main_Page here be mirrors and torrents, and then after some undisclosed time period, monsters and dragons.

Post Re: Dwarf Fortress - It's about time there's a thread
So I have about 6 villagers around my maxed-out HammerDorf in Adventure mode... Just crippling them one at at time, breaking bones left and right.. Kinda disappointed that the "exploding torso" from the last version doesn't really exist anymore. But that's allright.

All of a sudden a crossbow-wielding human guard shows up at the edge of the screen. All his bolts are deflecting off my armor, but I decide to charge at him anyway.

I strike him in the leg, bruising him;
he shoots me in the toe, severing a tendon and the muscle!

I strike him in the head, bruising his head fat (!); and I'm greeted with
Quote:
The flying *copper bolt* strikes You in the lower left back tooth, and the severd part sails off in an arc!

Sure enough a little PI symbol goes sailing through the air and lands behind me. Jesus christ that's terrifying! But my hammerDorf is not phased by being shot point-blank range IN THE GODDAMN MOUTH

Quote:
You bash the captain of the guard in the left upper leg with your bronze war hammer, jamming the bone through the left hip's muscle and shattering the left hip's bone!
The captain of the guard gives in to the pain!
The bronze war hammer has lodged firmly in the wound!

After going ape ♥♥♥♥ on him, I bruised his brain, pancreas, guts, heart, and broke just about every bone in his body one at a time. The whole while, the 6 dudes I originally crippled are trying to crawl towards me to help in the fight.

Quote:
You bash the captain of the guard in the head with your bronze war hammer, bruising the muscle, jamming the skull through the brain and tearing the brain!

hell yes! time to clean up the survivors...

OH MY DATA IT IS LIKE FUDGE CHRISTMAS

*Areku has been ecstactic lately*

EDIT: OMG I CANT BELIEVE THIS. We're already at year 500 and the age of myth hasn't ended. I'm drooling like a rabid dog because of the sheer awesomeness of this.

EDITEDIT: IM CRYING MY ELBOWS OUT HERE. THIS IS THE BEST WORLDGEN EVER. IT'S GOT FIVE. FUDGE. CONTINENTS. *hysterical laughter*

EDITEDITEDIT: And it's got a forgotten beast that has lived in the depths of the world since the time before time, has wings made of stretched skin, squirms, fidgets and drools poisonous gas. I think I'm gonna have a heart attack here.

EDITEDITEDITEDITEDIT: Another one is a giant reddish hairy worm. With tentacles. This is starting to get weird.

EDITEDITEOIDIDEIDTEDIT: And other is a flying, sentient, 50-ton snowball. AWSOM.

Forums are still down, but the main site is totally redesigned.

Also, crossbows are nerfed.

OMGNEWVERSION

"I CAME. BUCKETS."
don't know who originally made that quote (probs grif) but it's quite descriptive for my reaction

but the site is in ♥♥♥♥ MAINENANCE!!!

MUAAAAaerrcghghg
"Alpha cancels download; dangerous terrain"

EDIT: did somebody accidentally dump a bucketload of awesomesauce all over the fromt page? It looks soooo preeety and it's succesfully distracting me for a good fifteen seconds that it takes for the download.
